Jake Allen & Nick DeSimone were Impressive in NJ Devils Debut. They Shined in the 6-2 Win Over the Dallas Stars last night. Jake Allen was recently acquired from the Montreal Canadiens on NHL trade deadline day and Nick Desimone was picked up off waivers from the Calgary Flames some time ago, but with injuries to Hamilton, Siegenthaler, and Marino out it gave space for Desimone to make his Devils Debut. He Led the TEAM in Ice time, has an assist, 3 blocked shots, and 4 Hits. He made his mark to get another shot and with that Win last night the Devils are only 4 points back of a Wild Card Spot. Can they go on a run and squeak into a playoff spot?

Finally Mercer is back playing with Nico. It's almost like the entire hockey world forgot that for 2 months last season, the line of Mercer- Hischer- Tatar was the hottest line in hockey. Still have no reason why Jack is not taking faceoffs ( has not since his return from injury). Good win. And a breath of life!

Yeah Jack hurt something that I'm assuming keeps re-aggravating it with taking the draws, im not a fan of him on the wing, but well see if they can find some magic together. Mercer and Nico play well together

@@THEHOCKEYSKATEDOWNexactly this. Don't need to mess up a fragile shoulder with a FO. He's definitely not 100% but well enough to play and still be somewhat effective.

Amazing how even just a mid-level type goalie can make the team that much better. It just illustrates how poor the tending has been so far.

The Goaltending & Defense too! I feel like Hatakka and Desimone played better than Marino & Siegenthaler. I know its only one game, but mistakes where limited and it went back to simple in the zone and out puck movement from the Defense to the forwards. Hopefully they can keep it up!

It was a fun game for sure. Something we all needed. I’m not thinking playoffs just because of one win. Go get 4 pts this weekend if you want to be serious about making it interesting. Regardless then play has improved.

Me too Dean, I was like come on 2 goals on 3 shots why did we get Allen, but he settled in nicely! Hopefully he can keep it up the Defense too

I was surprised & happy that the Devils beat Dallas last night! I thought for sure that the Devils was going to lose!

Allen started off looking like a guy who hadn’t played in a while; finished like the 2015-2020 Jake Allen. I just hope they don’t “play down” to Arizona; but, they get ready for this game.

It was a fun one to watch. I was pretty worried with Allen after those first couple goals but luckily the other Jake in goal was also have a rough game on the other end. What a weird first period. I was impressed with the defense last night and especially impressed with the devil’s commitment to just protecting the lead in the 3rd AND still adding one more goal. I wonder if this was the devils playing well and/or the Stars having a rough night. Id love to see them build on this with some confidence. Especially the new guys in the line up…maybe they can get everyone fired up. I think Green has made some good, common sense decisions in the line up so far. Timo on the correct wing, mercer playing with hischier…hell, even holtz got a goal playing with timo. I like luke and nemec together. Its not relevant to this game but I think they should move Luke off the powerplay first line. Give nemec his spot. Then id feel pretty damn confident

I was worried with Allen too, but he settled in very nicely. Luke on PP 1, I mean he can distribute the puck, but man he makes alot of mistakes, but hes still young and will learn quickly. I didnt like it at the start of the season with him on PP 1 over Hamilton after Hamilton doing that so well for us last year

Yes! This win is absolutely beautiful but it must translate to something meaningful, i.e. a winning streak 😅 Arizona and Vegas can be beaten with the same type of effort 🎉 great debuts for Nick and Jake the snake 😂 LFGD 💥

They can be beat, we just have to string together some wins. The Isles being up and down, the redwings playing like crap lately, and the Flyers being up and down too we can sneak in but we have to go on a win Streak here
