I wanted to do videos that contains talk about everything that has to do with hockey especially news and notes from all NHL teams. Topics discussed have to do with the Nhl Hockey draft, trades, signings, rumors, team news, new contracts that may be signed or discussed. Hockey has played a very important part in my life and I always wanted to do something with it because it's a beautiful sport that should be watched, played, and discussed to spread the the game. The main goal was to create an environment whether its the everyday NHL fan or the new fans have an outlet to watch, and discuss topics in a cordial manner unlike other social media platforms.
I mentioned in the video he would have to accept the trade to NY for it to go through. Weegar is the kind of D you keep not trade, great D with a great cap hit
Fat chance. Why would any team move one of the 2 top right shot d men. They would move Kadri, and possibly Huberdeau,if they can get anybody to take on his contract.
As a Calgary fan I've gotta say they've gotta send us more than kakko if they expect us to take on trouba and take Weegar. I think there's a starting point to a trade here but there's gotta be more imo
Conroy should and get fired if he does this deal. Garbage. Why don’t they just deal weegar by itself. Get picks and prospects. Not only they getting bad returns they also have to absorb trouba and kakko salary. It’s comical
It is, but you get more assets in taking on those contracts, kaako only one year and trouba has two left and you can flip them at the Trade deadline if you can. Good way too pick up more assets
Conroy should’ve gotten fired when he traded your best goal scorer at the time for Shakiragovich and a flimsy late third round pick. Still not doing it for you? How about when Zadorov got traded for sticks and stones?
Cowtown has already done some brutal trades in the past. Why wouldn’t Conroy trade Mackenzie Whiner for a bag of pucks and add that to his list of botched trades that aged badly?
Weegar is worth about two firsts. Trouble is worth a negative first. Kaako is probably worth a little less than two firsts. So the Ranger would have to add here, though not a lot.
I mentioned the whole trade that was talked about in the article in the video, it is a bit more, but if the Rangers want to get out of that Trouba contract to give a majority of that to Shesterkin, Conroy knows that and will try to get as much as he can and you can't blame him. I like Weegar I hope he stays in Calgary
This could be a trade where Conroy takes Complete advantage of the Rangers. Calgary has the cap space and the Rangers desperately want to move him. Trouba doesn't want to leave NY, this could either get really interesting or just be a rumor
That's ridiculous. 2nd overall doesn't mean shit! You have to prove you can play. Weegs was a very late pick. had to work for everything he has gotten. Turned into a stud. Trouba is another Gaudreau, he's not coming. WEEG'S IS WORTH A TOP 5 PROSPECT Rangers don't have that. Where the Rangers draft, he would be worth 2 firsts & a second!.
I said in the video that the Rangers would have to give more than the players the article mentioned. I value Weegar highly bc of what he does on and off the ice & because of his term
Weegar would have every right to say no to the trade but if he's in it to win a cup and cgy is on troubas playable teams then the trade will happen but I personally don't believe giving players full no move clauses unless it's for the first 3 years of a 6 year or more contract and since flames aren't doing anything over 5 year deals under Conroy I don't see this happening
Weigar is is really good defenceman but he is prone to giveaways in breakouts around his own blueline. Maybe he us improving that a bit, but it still happens. The beauty about him is 6 years at under $7 million as opposed to Trouba at $8 million for only 2 years and then he could be orvprobably would be gone at the end of his contract. That is not a good move for Calgary . As far as throw ins from NY go it would have to be something really sweet to get Calgary to move on this trade. Kakko? I doubt it. That doesnt do much to make it make sense. I cant imagine it happening. Trouba wants to stay in the NY area because of his wife anyway so i dont think Calgary is anywhere on his mind. The whole thing makes no sense to either party.
I agree, I dont think this trade happens, but you never know. Hearing the Kaako linked to Calgary, weegars name being out there and Dan Powers tweeting that, you never know. Trouba wants to stay in NY, this is going to get messy. Weegars contract is awesome and if I were the Flames I'd hold onto him
The Flames FO is nuts. Not only did they phenomenally botch their rebuild, they are having a fire sale now and still getting peanuts on the dollar for every piece not named Markstrom. This trade if it happens as listed here, should be considered a crime.
Conroy has to win this deal. If Trouba agrees then Conroy should ask for the moon from the Rangers and he would get it. Not many teams have the cap space the Flames do and Drury wants Trouba out
In my opinion the Flames would want one of NYR's 1st round picks, just for starters, without Trouba in the deal. If you have Weegar and you are a non-playoff team an unhappy Trouba is a cap dump at best. Calgary needs leadership on their back-end with all the inexperience they will be stuck with and all they have in that dept. is Andersson and Weegar. So I imagine they would want a first for the dump as well. Plus whatever else. If I were trading with CGY I would want to trade for Rasmus Andersson. He is a legit 40 pt guy, even with a bad season last last year. He is younger (27) still has two years left on a $4.55 mil deal and might want a trade. He would probably cost a first as well, plus Kakko, but I think it would be a better move for both teams.
I remember seeing Andersons name out there and shocked to see Weegars name in trade rumors. Conroy should ask for the moon from Drury and the Rangers if somehow Trouba is involved in this. Theres no rush to trade Weegars still plays at a high rate and has a great contract. The Flames will get a great return for Weegar
@@THEHOCKEYSKATEDOWN Plus Weegar can mentor the new players Calgary will be filling out their defense with. They are super thin on d'. I doubt Trouba would waive to go out West tbh.
Hard NO from a Cgy fan. Weegs is an absolute beaut and is on record that He loves Cgy and is on board with rebuild. Title very misleading or do You know for a fact its happening.
I know, I agree, to lose all those players im sure has been rough for Flames fans. I hope they keep Weegar, hes a stud and his cap hit is soooo good for the play he provides. Hope the Flames dont move him.
no way NYR trading away 2 nhl roster players, maybe trouba + kakko for 2 first rounders or 1 first, 2 second, and 1 3rd. Remember the draft is a crap shoot and it takes at least 2/3 years for them to be nhl ready.
Rangers need cap relief to sign Shesterkin, And if Trouba is in any deal that works for him im sure they'll take it. Weegar is a really good defenseman and im sure other parts would be involved
@@THEHOCKEYSKATEDOWN sorry bro, if I'm Drury I'm not taking another 30 years old D, give me some future instead. We have Jones who demonstrated he can handle NHL or we grab some journeyman D for 1M
Flames would never want your scarps anyways. I’d give a 2nd at most for kaako hard no from flames fans. Weegar is the next flames captain why would people even consider trading him😂
Barry wants a lot for him and so he should….. I’d keep him and see how the next couple years go…. He is under contract and if Wedgwood doesn’t work out, bring him up next year to backup…. Saros is small and relies on speed and he will lose a step in couple years. The contract is a good contract and trade him in 3 years, get a small return, and you have a 24-25 year old goalie for the next decade and coming into his prime:…. I wouldn’t trade a 11 overall pick, and a generational goalie for nothing but a massive package
I dont think hes gonna moved. One the asking peice is super high what ever is in your mind of price its probably higher. Nashville is stairing down a potential swayman ulmark style pairing. Two. After the free agency signings (which i love as a nashville fan) there is very little cap space for a big name trade like marner naces who ever, and to many extra pieces would have to move with him.
@@THEHOCKEYSKATEDOWN Preds organization isn't going to move him up until he shows ready for a few seasons. They dint prematurely promote guys to the NHL
Askarov will come to training camp and compete with Wedgewood for a backup spot. If he's not ready, he'll be sent to Milwaukee for more seasoning. The Preds are in no hurry.
I agree, no rush to move him, but WeW the return they will get for him will be massive. Trotz isn't playing around and he shouldn't with a blue chip prospect like that
One of the problems with trying to get Askarov is we are still conditioning Daws. He has almost 50 NHL games for us already with ups and downs but definately a promising future. So if we got Askarov would we keep Daws in the AHL semi-permanently? Interesting Wedgie is a solid #2 for the Preds now after we let him go twice but he was in that sort of situation with us. He spent many years as a Devil during the Brodeur / Schneider era when he had no chance of playing in the big leagues.
I know and he played so good with Dallas. Im sure Trotz wants him to develop, where the player feels im ready to show what I can do and hes got to spend 2 years in the minors. Then if that's the case, a backup, until Saros deal is done, definitely something to keep an eye on
Thats what bummed me about the Cotter trade, assets like that shouldve been used for a trade like this, not for a 3rd 4th line guy, but Maybe Fitzgerald tried and Trotz said no, who knows
This all happened with Saros re-upping with The Predators. Then Wedgewood signing is what added more to this. Im sure if this happened sooner Fitzgerald wouldve been on this more, but he had to make a move on Markstrom, im sure the price tag for Askarov was insane
@@THEHOCKEYSKATEDOWN agreed the price tags has to be high but, there was no need for us to trade for two middle of the pack goalies at the end of last year
@@Mechanicsville804 KK was a trade to get rid of VV contract and get more leeway in the salary cap. Allen is solid backup for one year during which Askarov can grow (if we can get him)
Unfortunately, Tom Fitzgerald 🤡 & Martin Brodeur hitched their wagons to a couple of old washed up goalies. In the terms of Allen, totally washed. Allen only has a job in NJ because he is Martys old golfing buddy from his time in St. Louis. Markstrom also used to play against Marty. Notice a pattern here? I personally have zero faith in both Fitzgerald & Brodeur's abilities to scout, acquire, develop, & hold on to actual legitimate goaltending talent. Their track record to date has been abysmal. The Wedgewood waivers debacle for no reaso was one of the worst most baffling moves in NJ Devils history. Askarov wouldve been great, if we in NJ had a competent front office. On a side note, Stamkos sure is going to look oh so STUPID when he dons the brutal mustard stained Predators jersey. 😂
@@THEHOCKEYSKATEDOWNWhile I would like to believe that, It does appear Fitz was singularly minded on Markstrom. FITZ blew the midseason trade and circled back to get him in the offseason. It was the only real smoke surrounding a potential NJ goaltender. After all, Fitz could have easily gotten Henrique AND Gibson from Anaheim if he was legitimate about winning.
@@yoholmes273I want nothing to do with that Gibson contract. You’d be paying a worse goaltender, with more term, more money than Markstrom. As for the mid season Markstrom trade, that was shot down by Calgary ownership, not by either GM. You can’t really blame Fitz for that.
