He was slowed by various injuries in the NBA. He was just crazy tough and played through them. I doubt he could do the same after being crunched by NFL linemen given how long he held the ball. Iverson only went to Georgetown cuz the basketball program was the only sports program giving him a shot to play collegiate sports so he had to just roll with basketball. He really wanted to play football but every football team that offered him took the scholarship offer back after he went to jail. Before the incident it was assumed he was going to play football at Florida St as a safety
