time to study young man.. alot of matchups people talk about they wish they could see actually already happened.. depends on your age and nothing is wrong with that, always look for the old games, dont let these fools make u think their what if scenarios never happened
you guys need to really start doing your homework, many importat parts in the [ast get swept under the rug, glad I witness them, I remember old shaq and younger lebron dominating 2010 thunder with kd, russ, harden, part of the reason why people think if kobe and shaq was put in our era, they would obliterate everyone, where do you think they got that idea from? do your homework guys
2009 was one of those years between those amazing 90s/2000s stars and legends of today playing as rookies vs each other...Durant and Antonio McDyess in the same game. Westbrook and Iverson? Amazing
@@ronaldedwards1022it wasnt curry lmao, ray allen was already been doing all that stuff before curry, the fg went up in the perimeter in 95 , it wasnt curry.
Man I loved this Thunder team. Fall in love with how they played the game. Before all the complaining and regular NBA stuff, they were just kids loving ball and trying hard. I miss that. Can't really watch the NBA anymore.
Ya, we all remember Chauncey Billups being on the nuggets … but it’s so easy to forget the opposite end of that trade with AI on the Pistons 😂 AI, rip Hamilton, sheed, tayshaun, etc. … pretty crazy to think back on.
Dumars did a bad job with that 04 group. he broke them up too soon. They had another run in them. Should handled like the spurs did tnt big three. Got everything out of them while raising up Kawai and others
iverson's attack to the basket is fearless ! daym,,, pistons teamates hated him here, its good he shown them who is the franchise player when the going gets tough on this game, the rest of the team is fearful, hesitant and has no killer instinct and had given up, Iverson has none of that even in the dying seconds, he will attack !
This game showed so much, 1st Stuckey made bad decisions & A.I wasn't comfortable with him on the floor until the game was on the line. Which means give A.I the ball and create a passing lane or pick and roll off Sheed and Dyes all day. Shout out Joe Smith for balling he really had game, I'm sick he going through what he going through.
Serge Ibaka too. That young Thunder team was filled with talent, which is part of the reason why fans got so mad about KD leaving and joining the Warriors. Thunder were a good franchise and KD abandoned them right when the going got tough.
@@roscoedash6673exactly bru, they definitely could’ve went back and won the next year but nah this dude wanna join the team he choked a 3-1 lead to. We ain’t forget
This was the first year I watched basketball! I used to love KD. He was my favorite player. I used to think OKC was gonna be the dynasty the Warriors ended up being. I also loved Jeff Green. Shaun Livingston was also on that team. OKC was such an exciting team
@@JQUOIS "today because of how talented they are in comparison to the median skill level in games like these" - How to say you're a casual without saying you're a casual. NBA Season games today is a washed down version of an NBA All-Star game. NBA Playoffs is where the excitement starts as POINTS are HARD TO EARN because teams are then actually starting to play SERIOUS DEFENSE.
@@kamotetops1572look at the players on the Pistons Lineup in this game and compare their talent Level and athleticism to the players on the Lakers, Suns, or Warriors today. Or even teams like the Celtics or 76ers. The 2nd scoring option on all of those teams except 1 is an elite scorer. There is literally nothing casual about it. Players like Smush Parker, Kwame, and Eric Snow were known for being scrubs but they were starters for prominent teams. No NBA player today on a top 8 team has that reputation.
It hurts a bit watching some of this "old" game. Sheed barely got the ball on the other end, AI and Stuckey were just doing their own thing with McDyess getting a layup. I know they were older players but still, Joe Smith getting more touches and J's than Sheed is a choice. Those bigs who could shoot would be thriving so much in this era. The lack of player movement is weird too, lack of ball movement I kinda get because of the point guards for both teams. Just wild this was barely 14 years ago, cool time warp though.
They're gonna hate me for this and I'm old enough to have watched this in real time but I come away from revisiting this with the conclusion that the league is more talented than ever and players are BETTER today.
This young OKC team was about to rise through the ranks fast with these players. What a hell of a run they had in the draft as they were about to draft Hardin and pick up Ibaka soon.
Little known fact, Allen Iverson was very close of being traded from Denver to Miami instead of Detroit in 2008. Had this happened you would've seen Iverson team up with peak D Wade and rookie Michael Beasley and veteran Jermaine O'Neal. Iverson was still good for 18 ppg that season so you know that team could've done damage
Crazy tht James Harden, KD, Westbrook AND Jeff Green (who was actually the most athletic of all before Heart Surgery) were on the same damn team. Now OKC is #1 West seed with the best SG & a ROTY 7’1 ROTY Unicorn 🦄 Super ⭐️
I don’t realize how much the game has changed since then. Offenses were slower but that’s because they were setting up and running plays to find easy shots. Now everyone just wants to shoot 3s. I don’t think the game grew or evolved, it got worse imo. Seeing 60 3pt attempts in a game is not fun to watch.
That was raw durant right there he’d destroy with angles to the basket, and blow by like LBJ off one dribble used to love watching that from him especially his Sonics time. His game is more refined now still love watching it tho.
nothing against NBA today- Lebron, KD, Curry, just some of excellent talent, BUT there is something about old-school NBA or 80-90"s basketball that was special. maybe its just me old-head but I miss it......
Very slow pace. I remember this era. Poor execution from Jeff Green at the last play. Iverson missed some easy shots too. This is when people were thinkin he was done, which was kind of true. Still a legend but a shell of his former self at that time.
look at those men working hard in the post to get those 2 points. those were the real days and they were the real men. In late 2000s, I was around 10 living overseas but I had the motivation to wake up in the middle of the night to watch Kobe, Garnett, AI, T-Mac and Shaq. Now I know for sure I don't wake up to see Jokic's slow-mo 3s. pretty sad what NBA has come to.
2009 KD was already a monster and so athletic. And sad such ball hogs Stuckey and the rest of the piston squad was. Ai was still beater player then Rodney
I was todays years old when I found out Russ and Iverson played at the same time in the league and as an bigtime NBA fan I feel a lil bit embarrassed ngl
