Rodman and Shaq would constantly get into altercations while playing against each other. Shaq outweighed Rodman by over 100 pounds and much taller. Shaq was 7 foot 1 while rodman was only 6 foot 7 inches.
Or that "he doesn't look like he's that strong". Underestimated strong, that's what I'm looking for. Shaq never threw him, but Dennis threw Shaq several times. You saw the way Shaq shook his head when they showed him getting the knee treatment. Shaq was like Man!
@@_Habit_ Nah man, Rodman throws bigger people around. How you think he's the best rebounder? There's a reason why he was part of the Bad Boys group in Detroit. Shaq got drop by Barkley a few times.
This is why Rodman was my favorite player as a kid. Dude would go all in hard against anyone. The harder you fought against him the more he would enjoy it. You can tell he likes being elbowed by Oneal. Dude is savage .
Yeah I was about to say that, he clearly gives zero fucks because he knows how far he could push and still play the game under its rules. Very physical but still smart enough to not just be another goon.
Go frame by frame at 3:41 to 3:42 (pause and use < and > for those who don't know). That would make an unsettling gif. Combined with the guy's expression over his left shoulder.
The fact Rodman was able to throw Shaq around like how Shaq was able to throw the rest of the league around just shows how incredible he was as a defensive monster.
It's because Jordan believed that helping an opponent up was a sign of disrespect, I guess Pippen learned that from Jordan. Your team can help but if the opponent helps you up it's like they're rubbing it in, like a tea bag. So that was actually Pippen defending Shaq's honor, like don't offer him a hand up that's disrespectful.
in Shaq's rookie year, Jordan was driving the lane and was met by Shaq. Shaq didn't budge while Jordan was knocked to the ground. Shaq offered to help MJ up out of the utmost respect he had for him. MJ declined, got up himself and told Shaq "never offer to help me up." MJ stated before this he was indeed intimidated by Shaq. but by Shaq offering to help MJ up, MJ knew that deep down, Shaq was humble. MJ said the intimidation Shaq brought went away. Shaq later said the same of this incident and he learned by stating "you show respect by offering them none." it's the very words I live by whenever I'm in any sort of competition. basketball, video games, monopoly, whatever. we friends before and after the game. we shake hands before and after the game. while the game is on, get up yourself...don't expect me to do anything but put my foot on your throat if you down for too long. show respect by offering them none.
he’s one of those tall 6’0 kids in middle school that nobody really likes or hangs with off the court but when it comes to basketball he gets 40 rebounds and everybody loves him 😂
In the finals against Utah their fans were throwing things and hitting Rodman after a game. He was visibly upset but kept his cool despite behavior that should have put those fans in jail.
All fights minimal skill great entertainment I wouldn't drive neither of niggas plan on pushing me out the air. Niggas be trying to put you in the hospital. No skill being shown mid 90s was the start of skilled basketball but I agree 2000s basketball is the best. But no era more talented than this one, so if you put todays player back then they'd average 30 because ppl in the 90s wouldn't know what to do against a 7 footer who can shoot go left or right pass and rebound. Allen Iverson Kobe Timmy was the start of skill in the NBA. Yes there were skilled players in the 90s but few and far when skill is a requirement in today's nba
The league is soft and boring now. These "greats" nowadays would be broken mentally and physically if they played today. Curry can shoot great...when ur not allowed to play defense, imagine how many points from 3s Reggie Miller would have made today 🤣. James in the paint...try that vs the bad boy pistons or Rodman 🤣.
Yo that was some gangsta shit right there man protectin their brotha @DennisRodman with @ScottiePippen & @MichaelJordan #ClassicMomentInNBAHistory 🔥🔥🔥🔥💯%
It was more than that...Rodman MOVED shaq around, he didn't just take some kinda ass whoopin...his strength and tenacity are going severely under noticed here
As much as he was partying hardcore after games he would spend another hour at the gym lifting weights or in the treadmill that's why he was always in shape even with all his club life
If Russell Westbrook and James Harden had played in the 90s, they would never have won an MVP award. 6"3 Russell Westbrook ( PG ) couldn"t average 10-Rebounds per game and Triple Double per season. *vs David Robinson, Hakeem Olajuwon, Alonzo Mourning, Dikembe Mutombo, Patrick Ewing,* *Shaquille O"Neal, Dennis Rodman, Kevin Garnett, Shawn Kemp, Karl Malone, Chris Webber, Vin Baker.* James Harden is terrible defensively. He is also the king of the Flop and Travel.
You know they were in Dennis' ear telling him to do what he did. If I was Shaq and I got into a scrum with Rodman and we're tumbling I'm " accidently" as a result of another one, I'm falling on MJ and or Scottie and no judge nor ref could prove it was intentional.. Then what happens, the NBA EXECS are telling the refs tell Dennis to stop because the NBA doesn't want to see the NBA's biggest man falling the NBA's MVP..
@@Thomas998822 all that help LeBron James gets...all that help Kareem got... all that help Curry had...all that help Kobe had...all that help literally anyone that ever won a ring in the NBA had 😐 Seriously what a dumb comment 😂 🤣 EVERYONE (except Chamberlain) had tons of help in winning because YOU DONT WIN ALONE. Why Jordan is regarded as the best is because of his stats on those teams 😂 🤣 same reason why LBJ is one of the best, why curry is one of the best, why KD is one of the best, etc. nobody is "riding" for no reason lmao just look at the stats recently i found out Jordan weny 9 YEARS without losing 3 times in a roll. In those 9 years he led on scoring, and was one of the leads on defence. If I'm not mistaking Jxmyhighroler calculated it to be 1 in 4 QUADRILLION of a chance of doing that feat. THATS why people love Jordan. Chamberlain DOMINATED pro basketball at 16! THATS why people love him. Nobody loves no on for no reason lol so just stop
@@carrot7215 MJ is widely regarded as the best STRICTLY because the *Bulls* went 6-0. MJ had those stats because he was fortunate enough to come up under arguably the most consistently ideal set of circumstances EVER yes more so than ANY of those players you listed, and most people incorrectly think that's it's all because of MJ.(and yes he ALSO had those stats because I think he's one of the 3 best people who ever lived to ever even look at a basketball). I believe there are half a dozen MT Rushmore greats who could have accomished back to back 3peats, under the most ideal situations, WITH a 2 year REST, same as MJ did. I grew up watching MJ, I love MJ he's my #2 best all around player of all time. He's my #1 pure scorer, with elite defense, player of all time. But I also understand the nuance here. And I see how people act like MJs style of play and his skillsets and his methods are the barometer by which everyone should be measured STRICTLY, and fallaciously, just because the *Bulls'* Finals record is perfect. If one is going to skew the standards, to be measured by, by how MJ did it then of course the GOAT in there mind will ALWAYS be MJ. And after the standards are set correctly and everything is properly accounted for and MJ is still someone's GOAT then great 👍🏾 it can all just boil down to preference, but most people are biased af. Actually MJ is really 1a for me. There's also a 1b and 1c because there's a set of goats who can't really be fully compared to each other due to being in slightly different classes.

Rodman fue una leyenda, un jugador unico que siempre enfrento a los jugadores mas altos y temidos en la NBA, su aporte en rebotes era el mejor de la liga
Rodman was just an incredible athlete. Averaged 16 rebounds and steals . Defense monster. He was drunk every night partying and enjoying life. Always guarded the opponent highest scoring players everytime. Everyone respected his athleticism
Michael Jordan the elder brother who is strict with his siblings, Scottie Pippen the chill middle sibling who is just laid-back but can be serious when he wants to and Dennis Rodman the chaotic youngest sibling who always want to start trouble.
Pippen just took the opportunity to take him down for free, because Rodman wallowed him across a table when he played for san antonio. All the sports talkers were wondering if they would get along on the same team together. That was easy, because Rodman wasn't a ball hog, he'd fire the ball to anyone open, wrist injuring fast, and just score a little when they left him open.
Even so Dennis is the oldest but he look so young despite his looks and his age. He looks brighter than Michael. Michael looks much older back in his younger years.
Lmfaooo casual. He didn’t kill anything on the court LOL you’re acting like he scored 30 a game. He was a great rebounder and defender. “Kill it on the court” is not the correct choice of words when you average 2 points a game. He’s not even close to top 20 😂
@@LaPride247 he kill it on the court! If you played basketball or understood it you would appreciate the kind of effort that is needed to play strong defense and get rebounds
This goes to show how truly dominant prime Shaq was. He had people literally hanging off of him to stop him from scoring. Props to The Worm for being severely undersized (6'7") and still managing to guard Shaq better than anyone outside of Yao Ming. Rodman's defensive prowess was extraordinary, and unquestionably the greatest rebounder in the history of basketball. Man I miss 90's NBA.
He was so used to just getting his way because being big that he actually started playing rough once someone could actually stop him. Shaq have always been a bit of a bully imo.
What others say doesn't matter now,.. He was a legend and will remain so.. 5 rings.. And best defensive Allrounder.. What he did personally.. What he was doesn't bother me... I only love him for his game
Mid 90s throught to early noughties was ace. Lots of strong dudes. Olajuwon, O'Neal, mutombo, Rodman, Malone. Characters Combined with power and intensity. Great era.
You know you're that important when Jordan and Pippen were both clinging onto you, stopping you in whatever way they can, preventing you not to get into serious trouble and get ejected.
They knew who their golden goose was on defense. Rodman was going to attack Shaq & no way were the alphas going to let that happen to their best defender.
I love this era of nba..... We would watch these games back then on rented vhs tapes, and delayed, unlike today, we can watch live via satellite on cables,..my xhildhood friends then would play basketball in the neighborhood, imitating the moves and plays hahaha... Watching from cebu, philippines
One thing most people do not know is Rodman was very very strong. He could push anyone around if he wanted to. Moreover, his endurance was elite even after being out all night partying.
Yea. Cocaine will do it fuh ya.. that man probably hit that rock before every game.. lol. It was dudes I knew coming up that I wouldn't fight because they was hitting that rock.. It makes you cock strong lolol
One thing that stands out from Rodman from other enforcers is that he has very high basketball IQ. If you play basketball at any level, you know that there is that kind of player who contributes so much without even scoring
@@lilbiscuit1014 😂😂😂 but once Rodman push his teamate Shaq was like: It's enough....!! now you push ma team mate? oke... I will show u who's the big giant here..." 🤣🤣🤣
Shaq was also confused, he was like "how come this guy doesnt move out of the way like everyone else"; O'Neal didn't know how to react or deal with Rodman.
Jus Strong lmao. This shit be mad pause how amazed y’all are at another human. It’s called relentlessness. Not backing down from someone cuz everyone else is amazed at them lol.
@@Courtsid3_ relentlessness has nothing to do with basketball maybe when it comes to trash talking but other than that nah it’s more of a physical game
@@xvingar6318 it has a lot to do wit physicality idk if you kno wat it means. I’m saying Dennis Rodman, draymond green, Ben Wallace are relentless most people get hit and don’t do anything back. That’s why Shaq pooped on them. I kno basketball more than you I can promise
Met Rodman once in the airplane, I asked for a photo together ,he was very kind, wish you all the best . He encouraged me to be fearless when I was in high school . What a man !
Back in 1996 me and my friends were invited to Rodman's birthday party at the Chicago dance club The Crobar after the Bulls game & met Rodman, Kerr, Buechler, and Longley. Rodman had an open bar, food, his birthday cake, and champagne.
People that didn’t grow up in the 90s will never understand. EVERYONE watched and followed the nba. It was what the nfl is today. Bulls playoffs was all anybody talked about the next day, whether kids or adults. Rodman was the man and my favorite player. Gave 100% every second of every game. Then he married my childhood crush Carmen Electra and that solidified him as the coolest dude alive to me as a child. The tattoos, crazy hair, piercings, partying, and playing every second like it was the nba final. Dude is a legend
No one guarded Shaq better than Dennis Rodman he was a offensive stopper Dennis was so strong he could have been a wrestler or a boxer he's just physically very strong
Rodman was one of the most genius additions to the Bulls, most physical player of all time, not sure those last few championships would have been possible without him
@@KonohazFinest well I would, and did, think about how many rebounds he was pulling for second and third chance possession, a lot of those were critical in getting last second scoring
@@michaelhaag8642 Rodman should have been sent to a Siberian labor camp until he understands the rules of Basketball and obeys them. It would not bother me a bit if, after 5 years of NBA, Rodman had been barred and had both legs amputated above the knee.
Nobody was about to stop him from getting a rebound. He did not care who you were. Knowing now that this dude was probably hungover a few of these games and still went hard like this is Wild.
Best defensive player of all time! He was so good that Jordan was willing to put up with his shit, Pippen had to forget all the beatings, and Shaq has admitted he is the only one who could ever guard him. Enough said, long live "The Worm"
I watched it live when I was like 16 or 17. It was a great game the Bulls werr down like 20 pts and came back to win in OT. Kukoc hit a 3 over Shaq's outstretched arm. Those Bulls teams were flat out Awesome. Leadership being shown by taking down Rodman. Jordan, Pippen and Phil Jackson had so much respect for what Rodman brought to the team as a player.
SICK! I remember I thought Jackson was out his mind for bringing him to the Bulls, but Rodman made me a believer. The man was worth 20 rebounds a game. He didn’t block shots often because he didn’t have to. And he was about the only player at the time who absolutely did not care what Shaq was trying to do with the ball. Unintimidated and fearless!
I still remember when the bulls were up by like 40 on the bucks or someone and they benched the starters. Rodman got the ball and launched a 3 and made it and celebrated all the way down the court...he then went 0-10 on his next 3 pointers and shrugged his shoulders and kept firing lol. So funny to watch back then
Rodman has passion for what he does in life. I love him for that alone as a human. Seeing Pipen & Jordan tackle him to the ground to protect him, and the game, was true love of the game from all sides. Them standing up laughing makes it pure. I miss the 80's and 90's. We were back to great times, almost.
And for this reason I argue why Jordan cannot be the goat. He had a man like this on his side and pippen, and Jackson and Kerr and Tony. To go up against Malone and Stockton. This man pretty much took Malone out of the equation
Dennis "The Menace" Rodman, there was a method to his madness. He did all the grunt & dirty work most NBA players don't do today, he wasn't concerned about looking pretty for ESPN or anyone else. That's one of the many reasons why's he a 5 time NBA Champion & 10 time rebounding Champion. My favorite NBA player, hands down!!.
the Bulls really took a huge chance bringing him in for what would become the Second 3Peat alot of people said he was done and no good and the Bulls would not win shit with him but he really worked hard and was a huge role in the second 3peat as far as why the Bulls took him in the first place? oh that's easy after losing to the Pistons in 89,90 Conference finals they knew how tough this guy was and they felt that being around MJ and Pippen would help get the most out of Rodman which it did
@@kwantoon I'm the first person to say that Shaq should have taken care of his body better and worked harder on free throws, but he wasn't just a bully dude come on
@@86baydizzle How do you explain him mocking a child on social media a few years ago then? His buddies even got in on it, they all took selfies mocking the way a child looked. That kid idolized Shaq, but that didn't deter him, the bully in him just couldn't help itself. He's an asshole, that's a fact
4 hall of famers in that picture .... including the absolute Goat, one around #10, one star of two threepeats and the best defender and rebounder of all time That were the 90's
