I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing this recipe. Seeing the happy face of my 2 yrs old boy who is allergic to dairy, gluten, egg and the list goes on….was priceless. Thanks a million!
This recipe rocks! Made it this morning for my girlfriend who is Celiac and allergic to eggs, nuts, & dairy, she loved them and so did I! They fluff up gorgeously & taste great!
I made these pancakes before commenting - these were easier than peeling and mashing bananas and measuring flax meal and water to make a flax egg. The flax was added to the dry ingredients and applecause used instead. And it made my food-sensitive son sooo happy that it was so delicious!
WOW thank you for this amazing vegan recipe. Finally a recipe with no oatmeal or any banana. Instead of using GF Flour, can I use rice flour or chestnut flour instead?
Thank you Marianne! Using rice flour alone will yield flat pancakes since it doesn't have the necessary amount of protein ratio to activate the rising agent. Using chestnut flour has no starch and it will yield dense pancakes. This recipe works best as written.
Yes, this is exactly what I was looking for. I want to taste through the screen. Thank you so much for sharing this recipe! I am always happy to learn new dairy free recipes from talented creators like you. This looks delicious! I look forward to learning more recipes from you. I cook a lot and make cooking videos too so I am always looking for new ideas. I hope we can keep learning from each other!
Yay!! Thank you! My son is gluten and dairy free and having a family of 6 been searching for a recipe we like. His birthday is next week and we are having our first sleepover and so these will be made!
Can't wait to test this recipe ! I also find adding coconut oil to the batter really makes pancakes moist . Was curious what would be alternative flours for a healthier version ? Thanks a bunch 🙂
Excuse me, but a butterstick to grease the pan and a slab of butter to melt on top at the end doesn't feel dairy-free friendly. What would you suggest in replacement?
Of course! if you just need a dairy-free recipe, check this one out: www.laurafuentes.com/pancakes-without-milk/ and use water or a milk alternative :)
They were alright! I didnt use the flax b/c i didn't have any. on the second batch i didnt use the cinnamon. i used one egg instead of applesauce. and sugar inplace of honey. i only used half a cup of almond milk. they came out nice and fluffy, too. I will make again. it makes about 8 SMALL pancakes. soooo id suggest to double it or more depending on family size.
Thank you so much for making this! My partner had a lot of allergies, and I love cooking, so I always want to cook for him, but it's hard to do so. When ever I look up "vegan pancakes" but they always have nuts, that he can't eat, do this was a big help.
thank you! These were much better than any other gf vegan pancake we've tried. Still a bit gummy but my husband didn't think so and that's what matters
I love the pancake, very good video. What is the second ingredient after the flour? And what flour do you use? I use oatmeal, almond or coconut flour. Could you use those options as well?
I made these and they were great except for I think this recipe has way too much cinnamon for my taste so next time I will skip that part but overrall this is the best recipe I have come across thus far.#Totallyworthmaking
Tasted delicious a bit porridgey (cause I used blended oats for flour) on the inside but great nevertheless. The only thing is they definitely aren't as aesthetic as the picture lol
The ones in the photo i used all purpose gluten-free flour. The oats will definitely give it a brownish tint and make it taste more oaty/porridgey. Glad you enjoyed them nonetheless!
Unnsweetend apple sauce has still too much sugar for me, do you please have any suggestions for a substitute? I guess it has to be something sticky? Maybe I can use soaked Chia?
Fantastic recipe. My girls don't have any allergies but many of their friends do. This is going to be awesome for their next sleepover party! What is the best tasting gluten free flour and the best tasting dairy free milk?
Carol, my tried and true gluten free flour is King Arthur Flour all purpose gluten-free flour. It works every time. As far as dairy free I like unsweetened almond milk. Just make sure there are no nut allergies. Otherwise, it also works with regular milk. Enjoy!.
Hey can i know whats the function of the applesauce? Is there a substitute for it cause i dont have it and im very lazy ti make it? Is it fine if i just leave it out of the recipe?
The flax seed is to mimic the egg in the pancake recipe. I e not heard basil seed being used for that purpose. If you can have eggs, use one egg and half the amount of apple sauce
Janae Ash hey so am I I'm lactose intolerant gluten intolerant and wheat 🙁 also I can't have sugar sucks 😔 how did u find out you were lactose intolerant ?
Hi, I love the recipe for my son and me. My wife can not have applesauce as it is a migraine trigger for her. Can I simply leave out the applesauce or replace it with a pear sauce? What is the purpose of the apple sauce is it just a sweetener? Thanks for any help.
Seek Truth if you click in the link below the description you’ll see the ingredients and amounts. However, I used almond milk and Bob’s red mill 1:1 gluten free baking flour mix
Usually, I just measure out directly from the container into the mixing bowl. To shorten the videos to 2-3 minutes, I pre-measure everything for the camera. In essence, at home, you'd dirty a single bowl.
MOMables OK I used all the exact ingredients he said and he's turned out very gross tasting and they didn't even work out the consistency was very thick and we added a bit more milk and still did not work we cooked them but then they turned very ugly looking the kind of tasted like scrambled eggs some weird reason but this did not work for me and I'm very disappointed
I haven't tried it and I'm not sure it would perform the same. Oat flour will yield falter pancakes with this recipe for sure, perhaps add in a bit more baking powder.
Well, it could be the gluten free flour you used, the fire too hot and not enough time, or substitutes (if any). The link below video takes you to a post where I elaborate more.
Unfortunately it will not. Coconut flour absorbs a lot of the moisture. You will have a crumble mixture not a batter. I suggest you look for a coconut flour based recipe. Sorry
I'm sorry. Coconut flour is never a replacement for traditional flour 1:1. You'll need to find recipes that are specifically written out for coconut flour.
The reason pancakes are gooey in the middle tends to be that the heat source is too low or, too high and they were flipped too early. Watch this video on when to flip pancakes: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-O1dflT5kSAI.html
Thanks, I can never get gluten free pancakes to cook properly in the middle...they always turn out a bit gummy....and I have tried many many different recipes now....these did the same thing.
Woman, let my mom serve me those small ass pancakes. Id be throwing a fit. LOL Thank you for the recipe. I can't wait to try it out. I'll make them adult sized LOL. You know I am trying to stir away from all purpose flour due to its high carb count. I have tried using almond and coconut flower. Any tips for that recipe?
Sure will. I made the pancakes to your instructions, and it was DELICIOUS!!! I had to eat them kids sized because i'm trying to lower my carbs. I look forward for these pancakes in almond or coconut flour. Great content.
