@@marcelopivato1441 That wasn't a cinematic though, that was just two characters talking in-game. I do agree that the mouth movements are weirdly exaggerated and janky, but I don't mind it as much when the actual cinematics are so clean
makes no sense at all ratchet and clank and jak and daxter had FAR better animations and they came out in 2002 on ps2 it's pathetic how the wow ones are STILL not as good
I dont think so. Isera`s death in Legion makes many players cry, Varian`s death makes many players warcry... Check the end of the Nighthold or Anthorus and then the final of the BFA or Shadowlands or DF. We have lost a little silly but stil epic and fun plot for... this.
Again the same THING! If one person ( Alleria ) doesn't figure out her shit then Azeroth will be doomed but why ? Why does it depend on only one character ? How can we relate to this ? I genuinely believe that Alleria's character has a lot of potential but with this direction blizz will end up ruining this one too.
It's not just one person, but every part plays its role and when one part fails that can lead to the whole machine to fail. Her part is simply especially dangerous, since a cosmic power is involved. Why the story is written like that? Because it would become a mess if you just bring in thousands of people. And why the player characters never plays ar role like that? Because it would be absolutely boring, since the player charater in an MMORPG simply CAN NOT fail. Meanwhile Alleria COULD fail, COULD become corrupted, COULD betray everyone, abandon everyone and everything else. Place the player character in her position and you would know that you won't fail, you won't be corrupted, you won't abandon, you will succeed for sure = stupid, boring Mary Sue writing. You would have a bullshit story like that of FF14, where all the bad guys even often directly talk about ending you, but never really try and if, they just instsantly fail. You are always right, you always win and that with ease, because you are a plot armor Mary Sue and the world will just bend around you, so the game can continue.
@@miriamweller812 The player character can most certainly fail and it can most certainly be used as a point to progress the story. You just need good writing for it. Failing can mean many things and it would be nice for a change if the so called "champions of azeroth" felt as significant storywise as the title champion suggests. Let us take some responsibility in protecting this world if we are to be called champions and also let us fail and mess things up and have to desperately try to fix it. Instead of constantly dragging well written characters from the old lore into the mud let them simply be there to help us and let us be the ones figuring shit out and progressing the story.
@@miriamweller812 I agree on the many points of yours but let me be more specific. This conversation between the Locus Walker and Alleria was lame. I know that I'm being a little bit tense in this matter but I think the ones who are in charge of writing these conversations don't really understand what they are writing. " if you don't know yourself everything is over" ok this sounds like an attempt to boost the adrenaline and show the significance of Alleria in the story line but for fuck's sake Alleria is already important because of her connection to the void. I think somebody has a crush on Alleria in blizz lol. ALSO what about Thrall and Anduin? That statement from Locus Walker literally can take away how important those characters are in game and tell u what? Non of this shit you can find in warcraft III and the frozen throne. It is possible and not really hard to maintain a good integrity by demonstration of the events through the game but since bfa blizz has developed this sort of sickness in their writing but seriously I was hoping not to face these sorts of stuff in the progression of the lore. Maybe Im expecting too much here because of Metzen's return.. meh whatever
I've wondered if Alleria's arc is Xal'atath's way of potentially birthing a Void God(ess) on Azeroth instead, since bringing one here is too complicated and their Old God minions keep getting imprisoned by Titans and merc'd by us. Maybe it's Alleria who becomes the Harbinger. Then, not only would the Void have a foothold on Azeroth but an established pathway into material reality in general, which makes sense cuz all the Void really wants is to return reality to it's base state, which was the Void. In this mythos and practically every other one irl too.
@@thelastcrusader7032 It wasn't indeed - the Great Dark Beyond (aka Warcraft's cosmos/universe) was formed by the clash of the two base cosmic forces: the Void and the Light, also creating the Twisting Nether and I believe Fel. I guess we can presume the other cosmic forces formed in a similiar way
@@thelastcrusader7032 Yes, but not from the Titans' perspective, so Azerothian lore often refers to the Titans' great ordering of the cosmos as the beginning of the relevant timeline, but the Void and its entities predate everything in known reality, which is why our rules and our physics and the difference between life and death mean nothing to the Void.
Wow there are so many whiny people here. the writing isn't even bad in what this shows. like i get you are all scared from shadowlands but open your eyes. this is how the writing has always been.
Oh, that's typical for Blizzard. Wher other companies got fanatics fans who aggressively attack anyone who don't praise their game and its developers as the new god, Blizzard got that cybaby crowd that lives from crying and throwing shit. Nothing new. Especially ugly when the two meet and mate with each other, like when Square hired streamers to shit on WoW and praise FF14 instead and the crybabies mixed with the FF14 zealots to create a whole new level of shit throwing and worshipping.
Sylvana got nothing to redeem for. As she said herself, she did everything willingly and for the greater good: to free mortals from the tyranny of the afterlife. She's an anti hero, sure, but she wouldn't change her goal at all. She does not WANT redemption.
@@miriamweller812 Believing herself she has nothing to redeem for and the audiences believing she has something to redeem for is a totally different matter. She has everything to redeem for because we won, so actually there was another way than hers... She wanted to free mortals because of Zovaal and at the end she saw him as another master that wanted slaves, not free mortals...
Alleria is Xal’athah from a future timeline or something like that. I don’t mind when characters are killed off, but the issue is that WoW has no good characters around at the moment to replace those who are killed off.
So it seems aleria will be the host for the voidlord or something to that effect. But we are still missing azshara and i doubt chris wont make a big play with her being truly one of the big bads
Not necessarily. Alleria's new arc is the Void and Xala'ath is just the new big Antagonist and a good foil for Alleria. She already messes with her using Alleria's own emotions against her. Xal'atath just wants the world soul to be corrupted fully by the Void. How that plays out is anyone's guess. And Iridakron is part in it seems to be a anti Titan Vendetta, I'm not too certain he'll get the result he wants though.
Alleria is Xalatath - she will go back in time once she becomes herself and starts everything again in a bootstrap paradox - calling it now - the War Within is the War Within!
I really hope those ingame cinematic is the new ''normal'', they are so enjoyable to watch, unlike some of the ingame bullshit we got like Sarkareth ending, Garrosh in shadowland, the list go on
"You... must find a way to stop her". "If you cannot... then Azeroth is already doomed". Anyone else getting Lord of the Rings vibes? Galadriel: “You are a ring-bearer, Frodo. To bear a ring of power is to be alone. This task was appointed to you. And if you do not find a way, no one will.”
So that's how many female characters that have had to "find themselves" now: Sylvanas Windrunner Jaina Proudmoore Taelia Fordragon Alleria Windrunner Lianne Menethil Do we count Yrel finding her confidence or Tyrande with her night-warrior arc or Lady Liadrin with her asking forgiveness for her attempts to dominate the light? There are probably more I'm not thinking of off the top of my head. Could blizz hire a competent writer that doesn't recycle the same goddamn story.... And could the voice actors stop with this whole *stumbly hesitant bleeding heart tone of voice* crap. The dialogue between Khadgar and Alleria doesn't feel natural at all, and Khadgar doesn't seem anything like the way he has been portrayed previously: he's never been some stuttering shy clumsy simpleton at a loss for words. He's always been confident, sure-footed, wise-worded man of action. Just like Kael and Vashj in shadowlands, it's like the writers have never even heard of these characters before or know anything about their personalities and history, and so just write some crap generic dribble. Like really... imagine Khadgar was replaced with Danath Trollbane, or Kurdran Wildhammer, or hell even her husband Turalion, would it make any difference to the scene? Absolutely not. This is so frustrating. How is it in the time that the technology to make-in game cutscenes and graphics has advanced so much that the writing has fallen to a level that even junior-writing assistants would cringe at...
2008 Blizzard: The BBEG is a fallen prince that sacrificed everything to save his people, only to become exactly what he feared. 2024 Blizzard: Here, uhm... Go fight this dagger or something.
How are these cinematics looking like such trash from a billion dollar company. They need to hire hurricane to make these. I understand the ones @4:00 are ingame, but its hard to watch. It's like some highschool intern did the mouth movement
@@libraryofpangea7018 Wrong, emotions are part of any good story when they are reasonable and reasonably expressed and help you understand/identify with a certain character. This has often not been the case with WoWs emotional characters. Sylvanas' temper tantrums in the last expansions for example only left things to the imagination and were very poorly executed hence why a lot of people despised that character in the previous expansions. Jaina becoming a genocidal maniac post nuke was interesting for example for someone who has lived a life of mostly pacifism and an interesting take on how war even in fantasy will bring out the worst in people. Be as emotional as you want but If in a game called world of WARcraft where factions, races, deities, planes of existence and divine powers are at war with one another the center of attention is not this so called war and potentially how it shapes your world and characters then you have likely not made a good story. Overall, yes emotions good, therapy good but for the love of god make it more in tune with the story of a universal war that is supposed to be evolving
Why are Alleria's hands natural but the female blood elves' and the ones' in the vision aren't(4:40)(maybe someone will understand what I'm talking about)?
Khadgar admitting that "everyone" who heard the voice was experiencing Light and Benevolence. I'm fully convinced that it is "NOT" the voice of azeroth world soul at all. It is the Light being inside Beledar. Every single rhetorical question that Khadgar and Jaina and anybody else asks about the voice and azeroth is a total gimmick to hide the fact the voice is from the Light, not the world soul. By all means, since the Beledar flips from light to shadow and back.... the void could be using that voice to trick something harmful into happening..... so nobody should be advocating worship of any being in the Beledar; but it is not azeroth.
Who cares? At least Blizzard won't kill any of them. No, they only dispose of male characters. RIP Khadgar, yet ANOTHER awesome male character gone. Such a waste.
I really hate how Azshara wasn't much of a threat in-game than how she was described and teased in Warcraft 3 while showing the ruins of the Tomb of Sargeras and how she was supposed to be the queen then betrayed her people. Then she got the power in WoW, then she just suddenly got destroyed immediately???? Whoever wrote or is writing everything after the Battle for Azeroth you are sht of a writer since most stories after BfA felt extremely rushed.
lets' see... Xal'atath was the reason for the Zandalari Troll Empire to fracture into multiple smaller Troll Empires that would spread out to fight against the Aqir. Xal'atath was responsible for corrupting the city of Grim Batol during The War of Three Hammers when Modgud tried using its' power. Xal'atath was discovered by Natalie Seline in The First War who would take in the power of the Void that would be adopted by Shadow Priests among the Alliance and Forsaken. Xal'atath was one of the Artifacts used in The Third Invasion by The Burning Legion and later The Last Battle for Argus by Shadow Priests. Xal'atath was used by Nathanos Blightcaller during The Fourth War to uncover the city of Nazjatar and brought Queen Azshara and her Naga into the conflict. Xal'atath was used by Wrathion to slay a manifestation of the Old God N'Zoth in Ny'alotha.
@@0hvistLet's also note this The Aqir war was ages ago to the point where no other race knows it. And trolls themselves do not know where the Aqir actually came from during the war. Otherwise they would have destroyed Xalathat. It moved on its own. Modguds curse is almost always referred to as a dieing curse. Not one of the voids shenanigans. All of Natalie Salienes texts were burnt except for one which led to creation of the order of forgotten shadow. U know the order thata a secret from most people to the point most people don't think they exist. A dwarf used doomhammer the sacred weapon of the orcs. What did u expect? Do u think common people know?? The alliance having doom hammer basically would've caused a roit. Nathanos doing that is not known. It is only known way later and by this point the spirit of Xalathat is free. Again by the time N zoth is put out of his nerves misery Xalathat was already out of the sword. So no there should no way some of these charectors know about the blade especially alliance leaders cause only Anduin and Genn if i recall heard the report from the charector about the missing blade. So though someone possess knowledge of the blade it doesn't mean they would have any way of knowing she's a waifu villan now.
This whole predicament is giving Sylvanas 2.0 vibes, which is a shame because eventho I like her, I don’t want there to just be a second similar storyline, especially about her sister of all people. It feels…lazy.
