So much for the long overdue promised inner turmoil in the alliance. Now Turalyon is the only one left to fulfill that , but I wouldnt be surprised if blizzard forgot, or they choose to no longer give inner political conflict to the alliance because it will make them unpopular in this new peace obsessed era.
@@prophetscott "Now Turalyon is the only one left to fulfil that , but I wouldn't be surprised if Blizzard forgot" What do you mean? Turalyon literally was one of the people who saw racism against orcs growing after the end of the war. And while he understood that, he wasn't really happy with it. Yeah sure civilians like him but it's not his first time of pretty much taking the lead of alliance and it would be out of character for him to take that role when Varian was young but suddenly betray his son. The only thing going for him was literally his love in the Light and even then he literally has a wife that uses void powers.
@@_Lis25 Turalyon's learned zealotry in the thoudands of years he was gone, and the death of Xera made him come back as a changed man. This is not the same Turalyon from the 2nd war. In Legion we saw his potential for blind faith and zeal. He could get so strong in his convictions that he will do horrible and more extreme things in the name of the light. Stronger internal politics against everything dark aligned. Thats what I would do to start inner turmoil and unrest in the alliance. Play into Turalyon's zeal, play into Genn's hot headedness, play into Tyrande's lust for vengeance. But seeing blizzard ruined the chance on the latter two, I have little hope for anything happening at all except for Anduin being an edgy king now, or his absence causing problens. Ever since wow writing turned into a quivering pussyfest I fear having high hopes for ant of these scenarios will be met with dissapointment
@@prophetscott yeah such Zealot that he got over Illidan killing Xera in less than one hour. And even then Velen showed him the dark side of Narus and how they basically can be void filled.
Genn, Tyrande and Malfurion stepping down to give their children the spotlight in a sweet heartwarming cinematic, meanwhile in the back of my mind: YOU KNOW WHAT THIS MEANS? TESS AND SHANDRIS GONNA GET UNIQUE MODELS NOW!
"Malfurion plants seeds" hahaha Poor Shandris. She believes that she has been chosen as the de facto leader of the Night Elves, when in reality Tyrande and Malfurion are going to plant "little trees" together among the trees and they need a secretary to organize everything while they are among "the leaves" hahahaha
@@justinb7494 They are biologically still rather young , it is only due to immortality that they have lived for so long but night elves do have a long lifespan but with it comes a low reproduction rate , if they could populate like rabbits then the world would be full of night elves but that is not the case .
It really did tie up the story blizz has put the night elves through in a short, sweet, and respectable way. That being said, they have got to something with malfurion because the only lore significant things he's done since legion, which even then was him crying has xavius ran rampant, was almost get killed by saurfang and then (kind of?) actually die so we could loan out ysera from the winter queen to help defend the dream. I'm not saying he has to be a main focus character, but it would be cool to see him be utilized in some way.
All-time horde player here. never had any special affinity or interest in Malfurion or Tyrande, but gotta admit that it's about time Tyrande got some happiness back in her life.
Haven't played wow for a long time but still, as a nelf fan I just wanted to drop a comment and say that the Malf, Tyrande and Shandris scene was very well elaborated. Good job.
Iridikron, "You will not see me again, until the Titans face their reckoning." Wow players "Okay so patch 13.0 got it, but what about Sire Denathrius?"
Multiple expansion, bros a restart that doesn't even read lore. Bro got added 2 patches ago and you say multiple expansion, you're the type of player that got Shadowlands OKAY'd from stupidity, now thats all ret-conned.
@@AimlessNameOG you didn't play the mega dungeon or read anything about the upcoming expansions, did you? you're way too confident for someone that has no clue what they're talking about.
@@highfiveguy bro doesnt understand the english language, try again when you get that green-card. future expansion =/= multiple expansions. 1 dungeon =/= lore.
Malfurion spent most of the last 10,000 years sleeping or finding some other reason to get away from Tyrande. Watch him fly to the Seat of the Pantheon to chill out with Illidan next
To think a decade ago I was a little kid who really like worgens. Now here I am, seeing the reclaimation questline. Time flies faster than dragonriding.
Hope he gets more spotlight as the story goes. We grew up with him thru Cata, MoP and BFA. Didn’t like Ebyssian getting so much just because he’s more “mature”x
I burst out in laughter when I heard "I see you, father!" and laughed more when she talked about her father's pain, but turned it around to make it about herself. When she becomes a queen, will she speak of her people's pain and then say "But imagine how I feel! Think about how I feel!"
Not many characters that have been around since the opening of the Dark Portal in WC1 that are still alive and kicking to the current expansion, and I believe Genn is the only one in a leadership position that has survived to this point. He might also be the first to retire from a position of authority with some grace as well. Considering he's been through the first three wars from the RTS games, and all of the WoW expansions I imagine Genn is basically ancient at this point and old age hasn't claimed him due to the worgen curse.
Only kinda old, the WoD cinematic said that the dark portal happened 35 years ago, probably something like 40 and a bit now, so if he was a young leader back then (idk, haven't seen anything about this) he could be somewhere between his 60s or 70s, which is still pretty reasonable for a human, and also why he would want to retire. Hope they pull some good stuff with Tess
did anyone notice how Iridikron's literally waiting inside a mountain to impress that blue protodrake.... think about it, he had to have had someone to cover him to in snow to make an entrance like that xD so corny
both Malfurion's return (shandris looking like a little kid was cute) and the Guilneas cut-scene (i love Tess even more than i thought i could now) were really quite good. the emotion of the scenes were well captured and felt genuine.
Silvermoon still has a scar carved through it, the Undercity is still ridden with plague, and Kezan is still beneath the waves. The delusion that Alliance cities get treated worse than Horde cities is second in stupidity only to the brainlets who think Garrosh did nothing wrong My god, this community is absolutely lousy with whiners
I think it would been a lot more interesting narrative wise if Vyranoth didn’t go cold on Iridikron (pun intended). Like he’s her brother, they’ve been united for so long, and he hasn’t really done anything to warrant being told to take a hike? I don’t like that Vyranoth has just switched sides 100%, surely she still has reservations about the Titans? Just would make her more layered and nuanced if she still believed in her original cause, because again, Fyrrak tried to burn the world down, not Iridikron, he hasn’t even done anything.
I think the Aspects will be at Iridikron’s side once the Titans ultimate plans are revealed. They may disagree on how to fight them (Iridikron won’t have issues with siding with the Void and Xal’atath), but they all will have the same enemy.
@@justinchampagne1729 true, but hearing Alexstrasza admit it shouldn’t really be the conclusion to her being cool with the Aspects now, I would’ve much preferred it if she harboured doubts about their ability to make good choices moving forward, she was imprisoned for thousands of years because they wouldn’t join the Aspects. Seems like she’s just forgotten all of that for the sake of the Dragonflight plot, underwhelming in my opinion, she should be much more hesitant to turn on her brother whom she has been allied with since the Aspects creation, that’s a really long time to harbour hatred towards them, and what that’s now just gone? Yeah nah, once again blizzards good at lazy writing for the sake of the plot progressing.
I cried when malfurion and tyrrande finally reunites, but i cried even more when they had shandris join their hugs... their family has become whole at last!!!
Kind of strange how most leaders in Warcraft are finding an heir in one way or another. One would think that the big figures would try to retain power.
For Genn, it makes sense for him to abdicate to his daughter. He’s getting up in years, and he can’t bring the change his people need and instead chooses to entrust it to the next generation (ie, Tess). As for Tyrande, she’s been ruling the night elves for ten thousand years. Even she will have to step down eventually.
Time has to mvoe on. Each and every age will raise new heroes and discard old ones. You must go and take your place... While I must step aside. I am a relic of an older time. Where as you are a symbol of this new time.
I'm happy Tyrande, Malfurion, Shandris finally get a moment to breath. Their reunion was touching and long overdo. Thank you Blizzard for giving them a happy ending in Dragonflight 💙
Azeroth bless them, not the Titans, Alexstraza and Nozdomu being re-empowerd the power Titan give them, also Kalec got re-empower from Blue dragonflight 's Embrace ritual back then, Methira and Ebyssian got blessed as well as Vyranoth. Basically, their aspect power still have just their dragonflight stand for but they cut tie with the Titan somekind, they serve and protect Azeroth herself now
And it sounds to me like they plan to keep him around for the big showdown in The Last Titan... a villain sticking around for 4 expansions. Think of the possibilities.
Supper touching the scene with Tyrande, Malfurion and Shandris! Also the first kiss in the history of Warcraft, the animation quality really improved during the years! Though I was super happy to finally see them reunite like a family I didn't like how Tyrande and Malfurion just retired. They definitely deserved some well earned rest (especially Tyrande, Malfurion mostly slept anyway) but after that they should have continued to lead the night elves not just pass the responsibility to Shandris. The two best represent the kaldorei and have very important position in the society as Archdruid of the Kaldorei and High Priestess of Elune, Leader of the Sisterhood of Elune (unless they given up those too). I hope this is only temporary, the mere passage of time does not equal the passing of the torch, unless the two were killed or be forced to go on a very important mission I don't see why they will ever just give up like that.
Could someone, please, put Sabellian through a crash course of Azeroth's recent history and make him aware of who actually took down the biggest threats Azeroth has ever faced? 🤣
On both scenes in Gilneas and Bel'Ameth the way Tess and Shandris react to their parents love is beautifully done! But the love of Malfurion and Tyrande the way they show it on the cinematic it was ABSOLUTELY OVERWHELMING...especially for ppl who have or had something like that will feel it more...
Blizzard clearly doesn't know wtf to do with Malfurion and keep finding excuses to sideline him. He's too powerful and it doesn't make sense for him not to help during a world-ending calamity or be uninvolved in Nigh Elf affairs.
Malfurion objected to Tyrande adopting Shandris in the first place. That he welcomes her (finally) with open arms is him finally acknowledging that he was wrong to do so
I’ve seen people theorize that he is doing this because he knows the void will lose the fight, and hopes that the titans and us players will be weakened post void fight enough to take us on then.
I doubt Iridikron thinks the Void will actually win. He's setting up the Void and the Titans to fight. And based on the hints they gave at Blizzcon it looks like the Titans will be revealed to not be the benevolent beings we expected.
I thought this was a good way to close out this chapter of Warcraft history and a good hand off to a new generation of leaders. Only thing that bugs me and it always has is that the only recognizion we get is a nice title. Our characters deserve some awesome animation for a cinematic
I want to love these cinematics, I really do. They are awesome. But I can't. I highlights a lot of things I disliked about recent WoW. Malfurion, one of the most powerful characters in the lore is just a non-entity. He had nothing to do with anything for such a long time, his death and now resurrection seems really pointless. The stalvart, strong but admittedly bullheaded and stubborn Genn Greymane becoming a Han Solo-like depressed old man who was a terrible father who was just afraid, neglectful is just shameful.
I wasn't expecting the return of Malfurion and the kiss that followed. It was very moving, beautifully done and I must confess I filled up. Very well done Blizzard!
How were u not expecting that after ysera left/returned to ardenweald again? He simply was a placeholder for her literally until she would return and so did he.
The fact that for once we get some nice, quite happy epilogues warms my heart. It does not always need to be more violence and destruction. Some rebuilding, reclaiming and settling is a nice change of pace.
Idk what to tell you regarding your first question, except for it apparently doesn't take a lot to make you shed a tear even though malfurion did next to nothing the past few expansions. And to your second question. Its not disney, but they sure as hell really wwnt to suck the war part out of warcraft and pretend to be disney lately. That must be it.
Those moments involving Tyrande and Malfurion were beautiful. Shandris wanting to get in on the hug, but waiting for permission was adorable and heart warming.
The writing is so much better than before! I'm so proud of the writers now doing justice and making compelling stories instead of one shot villain's who are relevant for one expansion and forgotten afterwards
(As an alliance player.) I am so happy we didn't lose Malfurion and the tauren become the aspect. He's so much more peaceful and respectful about it. Great character prologue. The Disney moment expansion for sure... but finally a good one in a lot of ways. It feels like a win for players.
Warcraft very much is about those moments as well, but always starkly contrasted with heavy moments, gruesomw threats and cold blooded elements of war. I dont mind heartfelt moments like these, but blizzard did nothing this expansion to deserve this kind of story payoff fr. Also, they sure love pacifying all male characters, or turning them into femboys dont they?
l still can't forget how malfurion talks down on illidan when illidan gave his final message to malfurion. That makes me don't really feel happy for their reunion
Still disappointed that Blizz didn't include the night elves to help reclaim Gilneas. I mean, they were the ones that helped to push back the Forsaken and gave them refuge in Teldressil, it only seemed right that they would want to help to retake the city. Genn could have extended a welcome to let any night elf refugees stay there until whatever happens with the new tree. But what do I know, Blizz don't care about story elements like that.
*Wow, that Gilnean part really reminded me of that one BFA cinematic, were Jaina's mother gave her the title of lord-admiral!* *For Gilneas! For Kul Tiras!*
Tyrande behaves like a little girl for a couple of expansions. Damn it, she's 10 000 years old, in WC3 you could feel the respect and strength she had. Now she just screams, hugs and bursts with emotions.
tell me is this in front of everyone she knows, everyone under her, no this is a personal moment around her husband and daughter, a veteran is allowed to let their guard down around family everyone once in a while
@@SuperGamefreak18 She was separated from Furion for 10,000 years and she was far more stoic when she reunited with him in the midst of a world-ending apocalypse, so this feels out of character for her. But I wouldn't complain for this scene alone, her whole Night Warrior and Shadowlands arc is one big display of mindless rage and childishness, e.g. there was one scene when she attacked some cultists she was spying on the very moment they spoke badly of her and Teldrassil.
I know Xavius is dead, but him turning from Malfurion to himself mid-kiss would have been such an epic troll move on Tyrande. After seeing what he did in Legion, it makes sense.
Happy for Tyrande, getting her useless Archdruid of a husband back. I'm sure he'll do lots of stuff in the next expansion and totally not just sit on the sidelines again!
@@thehermit8723 Not at all. I grew up with Warcraft 3. I'm memeing on Blizzard's blatant misuse of a character who by all accounts should've been heavily involved in Amirdrassil instead of just fucking off to go take a nap in Ardenweald in Ysera's place. Since Legion he's just been a total jobber quest giver NPC instead of being the 2nd most powerful druid in all of Azeroth and a valiant protector of Nature.
@@thehermit8723 dude Malfurion was really useful last time in Cataclysm. Only useful thing he did this expansion was when he took vacation in Shadowlands so Ysera can come and play for a while.
@@MistarpotatoAgreed, leaving Malfurion in Ardenweald was disappointing. Nothing against Tyrande leading the fight, but he should have had a more active role.
Considering the corpses on night elves that prompted the need for a new tree… I’m horde player, but don’t blame the nelfs for using the horde to have a new home.
Patch 10.2.5's dialogue and cutscenes surely were something special. I really felt the jump in quality, not simply from a graphical perspective but a narrative one as well. Blizzard are definitely taking major lessons from games such as FFXIV because the natural but consistent progression of the narrative in various doses is quite unlike them. Typically, everything is saved for a major patch and even then, locked behind some raid or rep faction exalted questline, leaving majority of the playerbase unable to see what happens. Now, it feels like the game goes out of its way to have you experience the story, even if in small doses. It's a welcome change, and if a sign for the War Within, then I have very high hopes! Farewell DF!
They have to continue on this way, seriously. I haven't played much of Dragonflight since I've been burned out by the two previous extensions before (playing since vanilla) and I'm also a huge FFXIV fan. If they get a bit more serious about the storytelling, just a tad more for The War Within, it will be dope AF. They have the potential to create a badass trilogy filled with amazing cutscenes and to tell a story we've never been able to see in the Warcraft Universe yet. Let's hope they'll take that chance and rise up to the challenge. Back in the days, I was all about the raids, now it's all about the story.
What are you talking about bro. Every single quest is them talking about their feelings and saying sorry. They will say they're sorry for being on a ship, sorry for not knowing how to make tuskarr soup, sorry for now doing anything earlier, sorry for not acknowledging this and that. Like it's complete nonsensical writing in every quest. When someone called it TherapyCraft earlier they weren't lying. It should be illegal for characters to talk about their feelings period
god that line about find a good spot for a home and the bit about a garden. Bliz knew what they were doing when they did that. We're getting player housing soon ™
