This movie is purely high school themed. its colourful, full of inspiration and positiveness unlike some others. The script is original, its easy to know characters the cuteness of the movie really hooks you up. I'd say its a solid 8/10movie for me.

I completely agree with you, we need more movies and shows like this! Movies like Brokeback Mountain, CMBYN, Moonlight, and more sadder films like The Laramie Project, Boy Erased, and others will continue to get made and will always have a place, but it's nice every once in a while to have something simple and cute. The LGBT community will forever be messy, but I don't need every. Single. Movie. To be a tragedy or bittersweet, and I feel like for a long time for the most part, it's been that. Movies like Bound, Trick, and But I'm A Cheerleader have been so rare. So I'm glad Love Simon, Heartstopper, The Happiest Season, Crush, and others are ushering in a new era. These are the light romcoms I WISH we had as kids and I hope we continue to get more! OH, are you're right, the tea was that Auli'i (AJ) had called out Rowan (Paige) on social media for being biphobic and insinuated that it was not peaches & cream behind the scenes. But they worked it, amazing chemistry in the movie! I have a movie recommendation you: it's called Midnight. It's a Korean film, it came out last year. I saw it a few weeks ago and BABY. You'd love it. Some FINE men, tension you need a cleaver to cut through, some insane chase scenes, a thriller to end all thrillers!
