Really liked the insight you brothers shared about singing and its connection to deliverance and remembrance. This led me to another connection. I was studying Covenantal elements that can be found in the suzarian vassal treaty. One of the main parts Taylor always mentions is the historical prologue. Anyway, this article was sharing examples of covenants that fit this treaty pattern. One they used was the sacrament and the author proposed that the historical prologue of the sacrament is the hymn we sing prior to the ordinance. Seemed arbitrary and random to me if I’m being totally honest, but it clicked today when you discussed singing. We sing in remembrance of the covenant we made and the history of Christ and our relationship with Him. We sing in remembrance of our deliverance through the gospel and our baptism. The sacrament hymn is all about both remembrance and deliverance which is exactly why it’s the historical prologue.

I like the idea of realignment on the occasion of a 50th year. But wasn't King Benjamin's speech given only 40 years before (around 124 BC) ?
