African American art pioneer, Alma Thomas, loved art, loved teaching children, loved light,
loved color and “dashed” her way through life making a huge impact on the students she poured
into and a community of artists she inspired. Only after a 35 year career in the classroom, did
she begin to paint for herself. Age nor arthritis was an inhibitor when she painted dashes of
color on the canvas. Learn more about Alma Thomas @HiGASFY Productions
