Aloe blacc's voice is a rarity in music today. It's a simple yet beautiful sound without all the screaming and autotune this mainstream "artists" have. Not only that, but the lyrics have real meaning to them. Who sings about the sky like this?? So glad there's people like him and the cradle group to make such beautiful music.
Damn, this is the best R&B that I've heard in years. YEARS! Sure, John Legend, Anthony Hamilton, and Donell Jones, etc. held it down as the last of the giants of REAL R&B, but this. . . . . wow. . . . . I thought Hip Hop and R&B died.
@KewCRE most underground hiphop has more substance then what you usually hear in the mainstream.Hiphop has always come through for me as well,so i feel you on that.
@borgie41 Why are people so bad at reading? (yes, that was directed at you) "to say that women and boss status are what its all about is just... not true" - your words. "Women and how boss you are have always been TWO OF THE BIGGEST THEMES in even really good hip hop" - my words. Can you explain to me how i said that they were what its all about? And DJing is not the "core" of hip hop. It is one two entirely NECESSARY sides to hip hop.
@redazboy7 I disagree! musicians with a huge fan base make mainstream garbage. Aloe Blacc appeals to a certain audience with good taste that's why he is "underrarted". I think that Aloe Blacc is a content person and just wants to make good music. Stop the underrated bullshit.
@BRADSZ99 Rapping was never the core of hiphop. Hip hop was ALWAYS about the DJ. Think about Ice-T. My dj do this, my dj do that. That's the og shit. Now thats not saying that in order to be a good emcee you HAVE to rap about a dj, but to say that women and boss status are what it's all about is just... not true. It's sort of evolved into this ego trip where record sales and chains overpower talent and messages.
@dega0518 hey yo, what are u talking. please go and learn the basics about hip hop. Funk and Soul are the roots of HIP HOP. Damn. u know nothing about our history.
