Just started watching thru the Alone series Kate followed your channel for a few years and I was laughing to my partner on the couch going "that's Kate ..."😂 Look forward to seeing the rest of the series.

My question is... if you went back and did it again do you think you'd get any more food having learnt from the other contestants? And are there any other tips from the others would you adopt (maybe that you all chatted about at the reunions rather than in the episodes?)

Oh nice question. I’d do more fishing a bit like chris did on long poles out past the snags. I liked Mike using the gumboot for water. That’s the big ones. And maybe make a bit more furniture to be more comfortable

Hi Kate, What were your ten items on Alone? And what are a few things from your hiking kit that you now appreciate more than ever now ? Cheers, Laura.

Oh great questions Laura. I’m going to do a ten item’s review vid soon. I definitely appreciate my air mattress sooooooo much. Sleeping on sticks and moss wasn’t great. I also love having lightweight gear when hiking. I found it hard having so much heavy gear like batteries and camera gear. Made me feel anchored to a spot

Hiya, Yeah, Ep. 9 and Michael's move - that was a challenge to watch. We knew the risks, we knew the huge caloric expense, and we were literally on the edge of our seats wanting to know how this was going to go for him. But Kudos to him, he set himself that challenge, and he delivered. Mike's deep dive - I was so hopeful - he could rescue his line - but that wasn't to be. We soooo understood his frustration level at this point. And Gina's DM's - wow... Who wouldn't want to give that lady a hug, and have a conversation with her. Thanks for sharing your insights.... 😄we're getting closer to the end.

I was wondering what volume of food you were able to get from lomandra and other plants? What was the physical experience of fasting for long periods like? Thanks for the chance to ask a question, I have so many!

Nice question. I probably ate about one cup of blady grass a day - some days a little less. It was pretty easy to find but took a lot of chewing but was also great for fiber. I actually felt pretty alive and healthy. It made me question if I should cut out foods like wheat and dairy and probably beer and coffee. It’s nice to truly appreciate food and I want to try and keep that appreciation
