I remember this game having such cool ideas, like when you open your inventory, you actually open your jacket and look in the pockets, the option to hold wooden objects over flames to ignite them or how you could touch everything when sitting in the drivers seat in a car. Too bad it was so broken, it was a pain to play at times (i had the ps2 version)
I really can't remember how many years passed when i played this game .. i just remember that i was so young !!! ( Golden days ).. Now .. my sons told me about this game and they want to play it .( thanks god they left mine craft for sometime now) .
I don't know how they did it, but despite this game's flaws, the trailer never ceases to send chills down my spine. It's probably one of my all time favorite video game trailers, and I've seen some awesome trailers. The way they executed this is just downright fantastic, especially with that music. I want this music to play at my funeral, lmao
Hands down one of the best all time survival horror game trailers of all time. The music to this game even stands its test of time to this day for suspense and I enjoy it.
@@1231231232972 First of all the original alone in the dark 1992 was the first game that created Survival horor then resident evil copied it and now Alone in the dark copied resident evil The main character was shit on the original Edward Carnby was a private detective and they just shat in his charecter the main character in the game is an unlikeable asshole. The game has a horrible story that doesn't make any sense. But I will be fair to the game the soundtrack was good and the idea of using fire to kill your enemy was also cool and lastly the controls are trash .
Kids these days would never know why this was so fucking good. The way they integrated the controller to the gameplay was fucking next-gen. Simple things like being able to swing a chair while it's ignited to the direction of the analog stick while walking was absolutely next-gen. It might seem so simple, but trust me, it's fucking next-gen. Another simple thing such as directly looking at your body to see your "inventory" without any loading was WILD.
@@Nothingforever192 Yeah. Today it might seem a bit of a nuisance, but I was really blown away when this game was teased for the next gen console. It was primarily, or if quantified, maybe 90% of the reason why I wanted the next-gen console. FREEDOM OF MOVEMENT to a game character. It truly felt like what modern games are to VR games. It's just a shame that it wasn't as polished as it had to be to make it a revolutionary game.
i was 5 years old when i was playing this game … i mostly watched my dad play but when i did play i have this vivid memory of being pulled half way underground in the game
@@williamsahalan.m.4520 the ending sucks but the whole game until that part is awesome c'mon, wich in a remake they could make a better ending as well so yeah
@@Last_Flying_Grayson the story is pretentiously desperate to be structured as a tv series with low tier acting and writing, the control is just re4 control if it was made by a bunch of incompetent college dropout and the main character doesn't even remotely captures the same carnby in the game before all of this
@@williamsahalan.m.4520 that's why you make a remake to make it better than the original, the TV style of the story wasn't cool but wasn't that bad was more like whatever, but the story itself was cool with all the conspiracies and really drags you to find what's gonna happen next and how the protagonist will solve that mess, in general the game was cool but could be so much better with a better ending and better gameplay
1:00 i don't know why, but when I first saw this part of the trailer, I seriously thought that by the end of the game, with the stone once again complete and Lucifer once again trapped in his own creation, this would ultimately allow Edward to single-handedly send all the fissures and humanz back to purgatory, restoring all the damage done by Crowley, the fissures, and the humanz, and allowing the light to return to New York City.
This has a summer blockbuster movie written all over it. The 2005 movie does not exist. this 2008 game needs to be a movie. I think it would be awesome if done right.
Its ideas were ahead of its time Had they tried to capitalize them with current tech, the result COULD be fantastic Score still slaps harder than ike turner a few drinks in
song name is "Edward Carnby". but music in trailer is a mix of game's original soundtrack ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7YT_jxH0lTY.html
i remember playing this years ago on the wii but i just forgot about it and stopped playing it so never knew you could have a sword and it says central park isnt that the park from spider man
I remember i played this game all yhe way till almost the end. Basically the game asked me to collect like 30 different to things. So i just skipped to the end using that fast forward feature and watched the ending lmfao
If they got rid of the Central Park open world section, this game would have been 3 times better. Why the fuck would i want to collect 10 artefacts to reach the endgame.
Wrong. They made an improved version called: "Inferno" which was exclusive to the PS3, added a new sequence, and would later be ported to the other versions but due to the commercial failure, they straight up gave up because it wasn't worth it anymore which is dumb, considering they could've made a bit more bucks out of it.
@@lughzi1591 my bad i didn't look too far into it. i do remember Inferno but i now trying to remember if i was talking mainly about the PC port. and the second game to go along with it. all i remember was both flopped.
that game was so ambitious , it has very good graphics and good story but unfortunately the game mechanics - though ambitious - was clumsy , clunky and broken this ruins the whole experience
conformed the main character name for alone in the dark 2023 is Edward carnby the same name for this character in trailer I hope they repot this game with better gamplay and better ending the ending for 2008 was so bad and stupid
