Alone In The Dark: The New Nightmare | Review! 

I just beat this game today. I agree that this game could have been so much better and did have lots of potential. Sure, they did some cool and interesting things with this game and the music and sound effects were more then good enough, but there was also so much of the game that made me feel like they could have gotten more out of it or done a better job with it. In some ways it feels like it's just a half baked game in general, especially when compared to the Resident Evil and Silent Hill games from the same time era. Plus the bugs that I ran into during some of the important fights, maps not showing certain things correctly sometimes, and several other small issues with the gameplay and puzzles doesn't help either. I would love to see a developer make a remake of this game, as long as they took the time and effort with it. They could make a much bigger and better game out of it then what this ever was and do the game series some justice.

I would love a remaster of this. My brother and I played this endlessly growing up 😀

Just finished this game for the first time, after my delve into games I played in my early childhood that I wasn't able to complete at the time. The quality of this review is top notch, you definetly deserve more subs, so you got mine.

Just finished this, I agree with your points! Loved the first half, the mansion and the slowly unfolding story of the creepy Mortons. Once you get out of the mansion the game sadly devolves into a mind-numbing pipe run that feels out of place and padded out. Still, a solid forgotten gem despite its flaws.

Turns out there is an ending cutscene where they escape on a helicopter. Found that on a story explained video about the game. The cutscene didnt show in the steam version of the game

I've only ever seen the DC version. The PS2 version wasn't released in the US. The game is available on PS3's and Vita's storefronts though. Might buy it as I got the classic RE trilogy and Dino Crisis too.

I always thought that the first part was developed by a really passionate team that somehow never finished it. Then it was outsourced to someone else, like "just try to give this an end.You have one month...". Pretty much like MGS V

BRILLIANT review for an amazing game

Oh, I played this on Dreamcast a few years ago. Loved the atmosphere but good god the combats were awful, and since there's so much of it especially in the last hours, they single-handedly make me sell the game after I beat it. No way I'd ever go through this hell again.

Very nice video and a good review. Never got around to this game when it was new but was thinking about trying it out soon. This helped to balance my expectations. 🙂

No matter which version you play, Eileen is PARTICULARLY gifted 🤣 I don't know about your father, young lady, but I'd definitely want to know who your mother was. I would go with PC and DC versions followed by PS2 and PSOne. Haven't played the handheld, but I've heard it's very impressive for a small cartridge game. Even the PSOne version is impressive considering it had kept everything experience-wise.
