Hey mate, someday you'll find someone who loves you dearly. Don't give up even though it's easy. But me I lost someone who I love dearly. I've been drowning myself in old music. I'm starting to feel "undone" And I don't know "where are we going".
@@obi-wan2 Damn. I hope you can recover from your loss, and even though I don't know who you are, I wish you well in all you do! Thanks for the kind words!
People complaining either that Elena isn't in this one or ragging on Clark and Mulakah. Bro I'm still waiting on a trio song with them all like Archangel.
Ikr they should've done something with all three of them on tag but we got a light from the shore instead it's still a good song just sucks there's no lyrics
The S. Nova 6 variant is not generally lethal to humans, unless said people say the songs aren’t good, in that case it will cause infighting and violence amongst former comrades
Tag der toten was also teased and another song in gorod krovi and clark s nova was singing it. If you listen to the songs metaphores you can tell tag der toten was teased
In the words of Zykov, he entered to close the cyclotron for a better future without war, but he ''Die in vain'' because his''''''''' dead''''''' didn't matter, the world continued in war
I've seen more people complaining about people complaining that Elena isn't singing than I have seen people actually complaining that Elena isn't singing.
Nacht 1st floor in a fridge in the corner Speed Cola area in the room with the computer on a shelf Particle accelerator room all the way at the bottom next to a computer
It was a toxic doggo round and all my friends were downed and I had duel diamatti no packs no perks I had just spawned and I am running around the map killing them little by little I get Gallo, juggernaut, speed reloading and clutched that round (it looked cooler than sounded, it was like round 30 or 40 idk I forgot)
i can not emphisize how much that first guitar riff fills me with POWER. i haven't felt that much energy surge through me since the first time i did the 115 Easter egg with my friends
@@Deadhead-kq4hr you almost never damage your vocals if you have the right technique. (Reason why deathcore vocalists still sing today) Guess Elena didn't. Plus I never much heard Clark even scream.
@Isaiah Cottrill what do you mean? It is not the only good song by kevin sherwood, and would you like to point me to some of the good songs that zombies has, because clearly I don't know them
@@davianlopez1026 yeah, I am thinking that too, and wondering what this person counts as "good" as clark has done a good amount of the songs, so I will wait for when he replies to my comment telling me some good zombies songs
This song is personal for me. I bought the game in december, but in christmas my grandpa failed sick with covid-19. And one morning, in january, I woke up with a celphone call by an aunt. My grandpa died alone in his house. That night I just wanted to play a little, after a hell day and I did activate this ee song and after this I feel more deeper the lyrics. "How can it begin to be dark and leave us all alone?" Still hits me. Just thank you for this song, Kevin. All your team made a great work.
2:02 "ad te omnis caro veniet" translates to "to you all flesh come" 3:18 "Dies irae" is a reference to the popular musical piece "Verdi's Requiem" which is referenced multiple times. And finally "dies illa solvet" is another reference basically meaning "the doom" or "reduced to ashes" and "saeclum" meaning earth. Basically saying the doom of earth or end of the world.
"by storm he is bound" "we're coming home" "we're running from becoming one" “they buried a well” “in the river we drown” “become the one and find someone to end the waiting” “Your mystery to live and die” “Riven within a gift of rending pain” "And nothing will grow now" hmm...
"they buried a well where the 7 fell" Only 7 members of primis/ultimis actually died at the Easter egg ending, ultimis richtofen was already a zombie at that time
Actually, by "7" , i think they meant the 4 victus members and the primus members -richtofen. When samantha went through the portal, she had eddie(primus richtofens soul) i think the primus and victus richtofens had different souls, or maybe his soul was split when victus richtofen first touched the mpd.
I mean, it is a reference to old songs, and at the same time, ties a bow around the entire zombie franchise until now. Up until this point, the series has been trying to escape the corrupted multiverse. Now, in a singular point that was supposed to be free from the Aether storyline, the zombies have returned. In a sense, it has come full circle. This once safe haven must now prevent their world from becoming like all the others. Hence that line. I like it.
I wonder if it’s alluding to the multiverse merger having brought elements of Chaos into Aether. Or maybe it’s just a cute easter egg. But it’s nice to think about.
I'm honestly surprised with Clark in this song and in a good way! Usually his voice sounds the same in all the songs, but this has so many different tones, inflections and types of singing in it. Huge props to Scott, Shawn and Malukah for the vocal mixing and mastering! And of course you too Kev for another banger hit. Any chance we'll get Instrumentals for Cold War songs too? 🙏🙌
It's 'cause he's singing a lot lower than usual. The range on that guys voice is insane with how he can do such gritty vocals higher up while still being able to do low, bass-ey vocals (like the bridge in Stormbound) that even a lower voice would have issues with. This is more in the middle of that range.
@@icantthinkofagoodusername4464 You remember that super high pitched scream in We All Fall Down (after the "Long lives the phantom. I hear him sing and scream out his anthem." part)? That was Clark. I legitimately thought it was supposed to be Sam and was either her voice actress in it, or just taken from a previous audio quote in the game, but, nope. I asked Kevin and he told me that Clark did that. That man has more range than me, and I've already got 4-5 octaves.
@@MysteryOfTheShockwave I know right? I thought the scream at the end of Dead Ended was Elena, but I was shocked to hear it's supposedly Clark. The way he's able to maintain higher vocals at such a rapid pace in the Well is fucking insane, especially with all that vocal distortion. He must have the breath support of a god. In general, Kevin's songs are great for just seeing some musical mastery. I don't know if Kevin records his own drum tracks, but as a drummer that shit never ceases to inspire me, even in the slower paced songs like Always Running. The polyrhythmic grove in Dead Ended specifically is top tier and made me get into polyrhythms a lot more, and Archangel's absolutely insane drumming from Darren Cesca made me go out of my way to figure out how the fuck that one handed snare blast works. Seriously, he plays so fast it tricks people into thinking Archangel's tempo is double of what it actually is (115bpm, by the way) and he is on point throughout.
Kevin's songs are the only reason i'm still interested in cod zombies. And to think that we haven't had a new song yet in over 6 months is really disappointing. Just to clarify: "Lost" is the firebase z Easter egg song, but not a kevin Sherwood song. "Lost" was a song arrangement originally from Graig Houston were Kevin Sherwood collaborated with. So the most recent song we've had is still "Alone".
3:53 Become “The One” and find someone to end the “Waiting” Then from the song The One from WaW “I’ve been waiting for the one” Direct call back no one has mentioned yet.
Honestly the more I think about the lyrics, the last chorus and everything after it is basically a cry for help from the Victis crew asking if they're alone and why it suddenly all went dark, especially with the lines "can't run or see, why can't I breathe, how can it begin to be alone"
Got the same vibe. It would make sense considering the final words from Victis, and the story in this game centers around the Dark Aether. I feel like the Victis crew got the short end of the stick, so it would be interesting to see them come back and make a connection to past games.
@@chickenwar1 they don't necessarily need to come back as playable characters, but perhaps as side characters you meet in certain maps and are related to the story in some way.
Thats actually a really good thought, to me it sounds like the song could be from victis as they didn't have warning from nikolai before everything ended and it mentioned a "martyr" who died in vain, which could be rictofen or nikolai
it might be telling us that Nikoli Belinski somehow survived, but that would not make sense since we hear him at the end of tag when sam and Eddie are leaving for a new world. There might also be a chance that he is in the dark aether because in the Animaniacs reboot in one episode they go to Russia and the Russian version of Yakko was voiced by the same person who voiced Nikolai Belinski.
Seems like 115 and Argent will combine and DOOMGUY and the primis and ultimis crew will fight demons and zombies and the boss zombies Seems like a perfect custom map idea for bo3
Kevin On behalf of the entire zombies community Welcome back my friend Kicking the year off with yet another masterpiece of a song, Clark’s best song yet I cannot wait to play Die Maschine slaying the undead while listening to this kick ass song Amazing work, it’s great to have you and the entire team at Treyarch back
To me it just sounds like a more Pop version of recent A7X using someone doing an M. Shadows impression. This track playing during a zombies match just ruins the experience for me tbh, then instrumental gets you pretty hyped, but his low dull vocals suck all the energy out of it. More power to ya if you like it, but this is near bottom of the list of Zombie EE songs for me.
Here are all the lyrics I could find: 1:27 Always Running 2:17 Stormbound 2:21 Always Running 2:37 Coming Home 2:43 Always Running (Reference to buried so I don't know if it counts) 3:32 Stormbound 3:37 Always Running 3:45 Mystery? 3:54 Always Running/The One 4:04 The Gift? 4:18 I am the Well 4:22 Dead Flowers? 4:30 Always Running I haven't memorized every lyric of all his songs so some might be missing
it has come to my attention that this song (especially the “become the one and find someone to end the waiting” lyrics”) foreshadowed the majority of the forsaken.
Also noticed a lot of references to old maps. Running from & becoming one-buried The one-shi no numa By Storm we are bound-ancient evil Buried a well-alpha omega I guess Mystery-idk the map Martyr-tranzit or moon Deep unknown-voyage of despair Were coming home-moon Fade away-die rise? Theres a part in that song that says fade away
When he repeats "We are alone. Are we alone? We're alone. All alone" it's a mob of the dead reference with the repeating of "Where are we going? Where do we go? How do we know?"
Alone (die maschine): "Become the ONE and find someone to end the WAITING. The one (shi no numa): "I've been WAITING for the ONE" Hummm interesting....
Honestly, yeah, I keep getting reminded of BO4. I wonder if maybe bits of a theoretical track planned for BO4 ended up scrapped were reused for this? Or maybe the CW storyline is gonna have more ties to the old than I expect. Wouldn't mind that.
@@aurelionight From what i've learned, Cold War zombies takes place after BO4, where all the zombies stuff, the Aether, Shadowman, Dr. Monty, the Victus crew, they're all sent to the Dark Aether (which is this place here in Cold War). The only people not sent to the Dark Aether are the Primis and Ultimus crew, and Samantha and her brother(i forgot his name), they go to the new timeline where none of the zombies exist, they're all in the Dark Aether. So Cold War zombies is in the new timeline, and it seems the Nazis found a way to open a portal to the dark aether, but they shut it down after releasing the zombies, and that's where the Soviets came in and tried to start it back up again. Samantha calls up Weaver to tell him not to investigate it and just let herself deal with it, since she knows all about what's truly in there. Edit: The Primis and Ultimus crew don't go to the new timeline because they died in BO4, sorry i didn't explain that part correctly.
@@aurelionight While there are a ton of references to previous songs, I'm pretty sure that this song is only about Die Maschine and its story. It's kinda weird that everyone is trying real hard to connect this to any of the other maps in general.
I mean, Bo4 was the reason for this game. What happened with the Aether crew in Bo4 led straight to this game, as there are clearly a lot of references to the past
(This is just my opinion) but Elena is over rated Clark and Malukah are amazing! But if your favorite is by A7X you are wrong(I changed it to A7X because that's why better)
This is a motivational song for me, and to the point where this was kevins latest song, im just hoping he seed this that i have liked his songs ever since i was 4
Edit: I'm starting to think that the lyrics are Victis's POV. "They buried a well where the 7 fell" Most likely it's referring to the victims and primis group, the reason why it's 7 and not 8 is because primis Nikolai was actually sent to the dark aether and he became corrupted by it, similar to Samantha. This explains why the announcer voice in cold war zombies sounds a bit like Nikolai. "Our volunteers die by machine" Russians sacrificed some of their own to test the dark aether energy, mostly referring to the particle accelerator under Nacht though. "Seal him in" "Him" could be referring to many people, though it's one of these 3 most likely: 1. Nikolai, most likely answer 2. Shadow Man, the first former main antagonist 3. Dr Monty, the second form main antagonist It could be talking about one of these three being sealed inside the dark aether. "project a means to an end" a means to an end is having something done to produce a desired result, project has many different meanings however one of its meanings is to "extend outward beyond something else; protrude.". This line could be referring to extending out to dark aether only to produce a desired result for someone, this desired result perhaps being the undead having been released into the world once more. "what he breaks we will mend" You'll notice that throughout this song, it keeps bringing up "him" or "he", so for the sake of simplicity, I'll just guess that "he" is Nikolai and that Nikolai is in the Dark aether and he basically became the new Samantha. What Nikolai breaks, we will repair. So maybe when Nikolai brings the zombies to our world, we the operators or Weaver and Sam(antha) will clean up/repair/mend. "He'll keep it all for him" Nikolai will keep all the zombies for himself. "Imagine every answer with no one in his way" Maybe it's talking about imagining what it would be like if no one were to stand up to Nikolai's zombies, thus meaning "Imagine every answer with no one in his way". The answer meaning the result of no one having to stop the zombies. "Dividing as he conquers" I think this could mean us, humans, clashing with each other while Nikolai's zombies spread throughout the world, similar to BO2 zombies when humanity was split into two factions, divided. "We'll send him far away from Ad te omnis caro veniet" "Ad te omnis caro veniet " when using google translate means "All flesh will come". When translating these words separately though, "Ad te" means "to you", and "Omnis caro" means "every living thing", however, I tried this: Ad te omnis: You all Caro veniet: the flesh This means that line is talking about we sending Nikolai far away from us all, specifically getting his zombies away from our flesh. "Spin around and around underground" This definitely is talking about the particle accelerator that spins around and activates a gateway to the dark aether, it's located below Nacht, technically underground. I'll see if I can add more, I'm not good with delving into lyrics to find their meaning, this is my first time doing so, however, it is a little "fun".
@@finisterre2415 That wouldn't make sense since the operators can extract and survive. Plus, they're not dying by the machine but rather by the zombies.
@@kiboshita6411 True, but correct me if i'm wrong, but we're not the first operators from the west there. (Also, "Dying by the machine" could be less literal since the map is called "The Machine")
I love how the song explains the map story. Like how orlov sealed himself and divides into 2 megaton bombers after becoming infected so he technically has the answers requiem is looking to shut down the particle collider. The second verse is omega group and how they have all the time to study the dark rather while requiem is shutting down the particle collider due to orlov sacrifice.
The song can be about any number of things at the same time, especially given what we know now (season 5). And I think that's awesome, it shows how things blend together in the Dark Aether. "Coming home" could be taking about Orlov, or Samantha, or Zykov. "Running from, becoming one" could be Orlov becoming the Megaton, but it could be about how Dr. Monty and the Shadow Man fuse to become the Foresaken, and Monty doesn't want to be part of it. Especially since they name drop the Foresaken in the 2nd verse.
@@LuvzToLol21coming home is a reference to moons Easter egg song. Running from, becoming one is literally the last sentence of Burieds Easter egg song.
The more I listen to this, the more I love it. This song definitely is a grower. First time I listened to it, it was okay. Second time, I realized the amount of references to previous songs. Third time was when I kept this song on loop.
Damn, if this was on spotify I'd literally use this on everything. Like playing older cod games like- imagine playing this song on maps like Kino or The original Nacht. That'll be damn sweet
Yeah makes me think there is a pop song hidden within this metal song lol, but in all seriousness I do love it as well! Wish Firebase Z had a hype song like this but it makes sense for Samantha to have a song talking about herself since she's been captured.
Tbh it would make sense that Elena isn't the lead singer on for the songs on this timeline since she was more of a stand-in for Samantha's emotions and since Samantha is no longer the one controlling the zombies.
I love how there is probably so much story in this song that we might not understand until later in the storyline, Im guessing the Running from Becoming One lyric is referring to how the Aether is seemingly fighting back from converging into the one universe and splitting itself apart all over again.
@@KingOfGames189 Blundell was the greatest Call of Duty zombies director ever due to the fact that he was in charge of Mob of the dead, Origins, the entirety of BO3 Zombies. BO4 was bad mainly due too Activision’s Meddling with BO4 to make more money
KingOfGames189 *I'm all for criticism, but your just being closed minded.* Black Ops 4 has a lot of issues caused by Activision, but overall it's a pretty good game with some great features, a strong Zombies map offering and a brilliant OST (as always).
thank you for everything, for the songs, for the dedication, for everything your songs helped me and still help me as well as the zombies mode when I had depression problems and family love your songs as well as zombies alone became my favorite for now I wait for the next eagerly. ps:sorry if the english is bad (i'm brazilian so i use google translator)

So I noticed how they said "The Seven Fell", maybe I'm reading into this a bit much, but could they possibly be referencing the Ultimis and Primis heroes, where the eight of them died in the same location, but maybe one survived? Just a theory.
'They buried a well where the seven fell' Gives me the shivers. If only everyone took the time to study the zombies timeline. We went from 2 hit downs to a whole story hidden beneath the cracks. Zombies is beautiful, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
@@reggilad_9043 I’m thinking it might be religious. There’s multiple references to the number 7 in there. Like the 7 seals. The 7 trumpets. Things like that.
Crackpot theory: this song is about the Victis crew stuck in the Dark Aether. They were banished at the end of tag der toten, and now they’re fighting for survival. “We’re running from becoming one” could mean that they’re trying to stop the dark aether and the normal dimension from merging (becoming one) from their side of the portal. “Our destiny to die” is about how they’ve finally realized that they were never really important. In BO2, they were pawns for richtofen and maxis. In BO4, they were used to get the argathan device and then abandoned. “He” refers to monty. They’re trying to keep him trapped in the dark aether, but failing. The main chorus of the song “are we alone?” Could symbolize the fact that they’re not receiving instructions anymore. With no one to guide them, they truly are alone. The “martyr that we made” is nikolai. By getting the argathan device, they “made” nikolai sacrifice himself and the crews. Saying he “died in vain” suggests monty is coming back. The zombie-like groan at the end could symbolize that they eventually died in the dark aether? But honestly that ones a but of a stretch
I would love to see the victus crew return and save everyones ass. I dont want to see them merge into something evil because that's what the dark aether does. I want them to be the hero. betrayed so many times. as I have. I haven't given up no matter all the shit that's been thrown at me. It would be an inspiration. I have a feeling they have a tragic ending. But I want them back.
YES A VERY CRACK POT THEORY BUT MIGHT BE TRUE MY OWM THEORY IS THAT HE WAS A MEGATON THAT SPLIT AND THATS Y HE SAID DEVIDE AND COUNCER AND MEGATONS ALSO YELL STUFF LIKE DONT FEAR YOUR DEATH AND HE SAID ATOP RUNNING FROM BEING ONE
Honestly I can’t stop listening to this , in game or here 🔥🔥🔥anyone who doesn’t agree this song is a current classic is not in their right mind. The song fits the time period / theme of the game. It’s a masterpiece 🙌🏼
Coming back to this after 10 months… it’s over… and, yet something about this song stands true. We are alone yet that’s ok… thank you Cold War zombies, something new something creative with great story telling. Cold War shouldn’t be skipped just because “it’s another cod” it’s an amazing experience and fun to play with friends as you can progress through the eastereggs as die hard veterans or easy causals… Goodnight maxis, time for your rest
i personally think cold war did great with zombies, and although i would have liked more content and also a bit less of outbreak i love this game and its zombies, i really hope the next bo will have great zombies too.
@@daemonvanmeir9697 I wasn't expecting much story wise when Cold War first dropped, I was honestly just expecting them milk the old story and find ways to bring stuff back and basically nullify the sacrifices our characters made at the end of tag der toten... but after going through this whole year and experiencing it, I was pleased with the new story. Yeah sure they brought some stuff back, but not in a bad way.
Well she can rest till 2025 lmao bc we probley getting the 2nd extension of cold war then. Bc if u remember at the end of forsaken (spoiler) peck ends up going to a island in Japan. So this could be shino Numa or zetsobo. Plus maxis is connected to the either. If she dies so does the dark either, vise versa.
People saying that it's all over the place, while I do agree it has an 80's feel to it but I think the song being not fitting correctly works but thematically the dark aether story is about things sealed away being displaced and fractured.(just my thoughts on it)
This rivals 115 with how badass it makes you feel. That first guitar when you get the last cassette after pack-a-punching your shotgun, and it's a megaton round...
I stumbled upon this song accidentally and never knew it was in zombies or where it played then yesterday I was playing outbreak and did the radio frequency thing and this started playing and I knew exactly what song it was and it took me by surprise. Good song, love it!
@@smallen6872 blood of the dead where Richtofens gets into that weird blood-ooooo yes then my bad 😅but wasn’t that not the real Richthofen it’s like a different dimension or something bc post origins comes out of the chamber and there’s another Richtofen when they come back if we’re following the time line but still my bad
ad te omnis caro veniet = "For all the flesh come" dies irae, dies illa solvet = "a day of wrath and doom" saeclum is the length of a human life, or effectively, a generation of a population; a lifetime
