This shows Alonso's natural talent when it comes to racing and adapting to different conditions, competitions and traks. Arguably the most talented driver in modern era.
@@priyam352 with all due respect. I’m not sure how that affected him winning the triple crown. Yea the honda engine was shit but he won the monaco gp almost 2 decades ago. Far before the “gp2, gp2” time
Fernando’s performance in endurance racing after leaving F1 was when I really started to believe he’s one of the greatest racers in the world. It’s rare for drivers to switch sports and win, and that’s why drivers like Graham Hill and Mario Andretti are so incredible. After his LeMans win, Alonso cemented himself as one of the greats in my eyes.
I’m just starting to get into F1. How good is Max actually? If he weren’t driving for Red Bull would he still be winning. It seems like if Max wasn’t driving for Red Bull, Perez would be winning most races. Am I wrong or does the Red Bull car give their drives an insurmountable advantage?
@@javiersilva1577 many people argue, but in my opinion, he really is one of the best in the sport’s history. He’s clearly more talented than his teammates, but before Red Bull was the unstoppable force they are now, Mercedes and Lewis Hamilton were the undisputed top of the food chain, but Max was still competitive against Lewis for years before Red Bull took the lead. Max started racing in F1 at 17 years old, and he set multiple records like youngest gran prix winner at 18, most overtakes in a season in the same season, and more. Max and his car have only gotten better throughout his career, and I argue he really is THAT good.
@@depo5626 I understand Max is a very good racer. But does the Redbull car havetoo much of an advantage? Even if Hamilton races his best race, he can’t catch Max? I think the fact that Max and Checo are in 1st & 2nd place for the season, proves that the Red Bull car is too good. Because Checo is my favorite driver but he is not better than Hamilton, yet he has more points than Hamilton.
@@javiersilva1577 bro we had 7 seasons of mercedes ruling F1 and we had to sit and watch it. only now after 3 seasons have another team gotten these regulations correct. also it's not always just the car, Ham has made some costly errors this season which cost him a bunch of points. he was really close to checo but then he dropped it on turn 1 at qatar. sometimes it is the car, most of the time it's the driver
2 time world champion, karting world champion, 24 hours of daytona winner, le mans 24 winner, wec champion he is one of the goats of motorsports, the only thing he needs is the indy500 to have the triple crown and be immortalized
????? Every F1 driver is a good driver in any other category, on the contrary it is difficult for other non-F1 drivers to have good results if they go up to drive one
If I remember correctly, he overtook the field a couple of times. He had a legendary night stint. He cut a huge gap of about 20 - 30 seconds out of the leader.
Wow. I must admit I don't know much about IMSA or its drivers but credit to them for giving the 2-time champ a proper fight. Hard, clean racing it seems.
A lot of these guys are greats from other series too. Castroneves is a 4x Indy 500 winner, Cameron is a 2x IMSA champion, and Rast is a 3x DTM champion. Some other huge names in motorsport in the rest of the field too.
@@elementalsheep2672 Only 2000 born kids like you who weren't even born in 2005 wouldnt understand so stop embrassing yourself kid. All world knows what happened.
There will never be a driver like him. GOAT OF MOTORSPORTS. I recommend u people watch his le mans night stint, it's on yt. Smoothest stint I ever witnessed so relaxing like a massage.
It is very painful to see this truly legend with only 2 titles in F1 Thats very unfair for this talent. 2008 2009 2011 2013 2014 2015 2016 2017 2018 2021 2022 even 2023 racing with a van. And 2007 2010 2012 losing the title for 1 4 and 3 points. Its fckin crazy.
That was great driving by Castroneves. Balancing how to be the one who has to clear their paths through the other classes, while also having to defend from Alonso. And then using these other cars to set up blocks in the corners while managing compromised lines. He got got but that some amazing defending and race craft 🔥
This is why he is the GOAT of motorsport imo, the only man capable of dethroning him is Max Verstappen. Ive been watching Fernando since i was 5 in 04 lol and i started loving Max as a driver because he is the slightly better and luckier Alonso. The ability of them have to just jump in any car and extract and outdrive the car well beyond its limits is just unreal. No one else comes close
@tilestwo ohh nah i watched Schumi😂 i hated the guy so much when i was a kid cuz he was fighting with Alonso but always respected tf outta him and when it comes to just F1 he is still the king that untill Max ultimately surpasses him imo. But yeah i missed out on the 90s version of Schumi but all the 2000s onwards races were on repeat on TV anyway so ive watched those
@@tilestwohe was a cheater and a dirty driver, nothing special on that. Alonso is as good any day being clean, and unlike Schumacher, Alonso was good from start to finish and at multiple motorsports
@@tilestwo you clearly didn’t watch him race if you think that. That psycho almost killed Barrichello, the guy that made him win championships with Ferrari and was always willing to let him win even tho he was ahead. Schumacher will never ever be close to the best, disgusting driver
Klaus Ludwig (Most successful german touring car driver) once sayd in a podcast, that Alonso is by far the best driver today. After watching some of Alonsos videos I understand what he meant
Castroneves is as every bit as skilled as Alonso. The way he worked the traffic and placed the car to stop Alonso was awesome. Sad to see that Casto's days at top level racing are dwindling. At least we still have Alonso!
We were there high up in turn one, and when Alonso got in the car for his first stint he was about 45 seconds off the lead. When he got out of the car he was 20 seconds ahead of 2nd place. One of the most amazing drives I've witnessed. The next morning we got back to the track as the red flag for rain was lifted, but the track was really not yet safe. Alonso was pretty much the only prototype that didn't go off into turn one. That stint was amazing as well ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-faxx22Id7Bc.htmlsi=rb3ehuvtejObfEYY&t=11200
I was there. Only Alonso was current F1 there, but ole tu of ex F1 drivers like Montoya, Kobayashi, Maldonado, Rossi, Magnussen Sr, Barichello, Nasr, Fittipaldi, Bourdais and don’t remember who else.
I find it really annoying sometimes, but tbf, with the amount of cars it would be quite disorienting to see what's going on when there are constant jumps lol
i have never watched any race like this. is he having a tire/fuel advantage at the given point of the race or is he kinda skill gapping them? he looks a good amount faster than the others
These commentators genuinely sound like they barely have any clue what they are seeing. "Wow they are taking unconventional lines to try and distract Rast". Me: What????????????????? They were clearly taking unconventional lines because THERE WAS A BACKMARKER IN THE WAY. xD
The worst commentators are the ones that feel like they need to finish what they are talking about during filler moments when something has started to happen. My god.
