It's insane looking back now, how good we have it in 2024 for these historic races. Incredible GTP, GTLM, and LMP2 participation. Enjoy it boys, this is peak racing.
This is what I call a "Pure speed battle" between the rising Finn and the 2002 Quali King (7 poles for Montoya, including the all-time record breaking, for the times, 259.8 km/h one in Monza)
@@thepsychologist8159 with a whooping 263 km/h average speed! Improved in 2018 with the same speed (1:19.119) and in 2020 with a record of 264 km/h. But the speed and the sound of the V10s are unique
This was an amazing podium but Canada 2023 had statistically more successes especially with Adrian newey also standing on that podium to alongside Lewis Fernando and max either way in my opinion two of the best podiums of all time
Modern driver not using heel-and-toe technique on downshift, which with most modern machinery/race-cars is not required. No hiding place for errors in historic cars. If it was a brake failure it would have been noticeable through other loaded wheels locking-up,driver error and an easy-to-explain excuse from the team to save Leclerc embarrassment.
