Have the 7ms drivers great high frequency performance and the mono suspension is unique and responds to transients much better than the majority of drivers available, basically this is a world class driver at a budget price .
We are so lucky that speaker drivers of this construction quality and technical ability are available to buy and at such affordable prices. I am extremely proud of Mark Fenlon for what he has done for music lovers.
that and build plans. so many driver companies cant give a straight answer as to what enclosure works for their drivers, almost as if they themselves have no idea. sure everything is to taste but so is a cooking recipe
Just bought a pair of 7 MS, putting into a 'Pensil' design (Scott Lindgren) next year. I listen to small group Jazz, acoustic and vocal, so I'm hoping It'll be a good match. My listening room is comparatively small. Thanks for this walk-through. The drivers look so well made , simply beautiful.
i build myself speakers in an egg shape with markaudio alpair 10p. Markaudio has some good features in my opinion, esp. easy moving cone and the inverted surrounding. but i did'nt like the shape of the polecap in my markaudio speakers. I guess the polecap is important for the sound, too. so i removed the polecap and shaped new ones. there is although a (not very professional😉) video on my channel about it. I was although contemplating about the shape of the cone and came to the result, a tractrix (horn) could be the ideal sidecut-shape. Maybe in sintered or printed titanium. But i didnt found a producer yet😉😉😉
I am hearing of many DIY projects using these for in-wall surround sound applications. I am wondering if you would use a crossover to cut out some of the bass in this cenario?
