Alpha Particle Source (Am-241) from Smoke Detectors

SOUND IS INTENTIONALLY TURNED OFF TO REMOVE BACKGROUND NOISES.
An ionization type smoke detector contains 1uCi Americium 241 source.
This video demonstrates the extraction of the source from a smoke detector.
Note that different smoke detector products might have a different housing design, hence different extraction/disassembly procedures will be required.

Does it increase the curies if you put two buttons together? And Resealed them in a PNP or a NPN Resistor.

The gm tube is glass in that geiger counter, you can see it through the vents cut in the bottom

To show the real radioactivity, u had to put the americium in front of the captor (bottom of geiger compter) not in front of button. And idk if this dectector, detect the alpha rays

Amercium 241 decays and give off low level gamma rays.

While Americium-241 is fissile, the critical mass for a pure Americium-241 to become critical is about 60 kg (132 lbs). External pressure acting on such fissile material can contribute to lower the critical mass requirements, luckily I'm a small guy and my pinch would not contribute much. Also, the amount I possess (1 x 5uCi) basically cannot generate any fissile activities.

That's not really how those reactions work. You would need way more metal or way more force to make it to critical

The GMC-300 can't detect Alpha radiation becuase it would be screaming. The GMC GQ 600 can

They're not holding it in the right place. This one likely would've been screaming had it been put by the bottom where the particles can actually get through.
