@@SmallBlogV8 it's not a diesel focus or golf, by sports car numbers it is the 1st sold in europe and japan this year, as of uk i dont know of the numbers but every car journalist/enthusiast seems to have one
This is funny...today we brought our grey A110 "Legende" from the dealer to our home and at the same time this video of Dan pops up. I drove The S last week and was also impressed. The S is awesome! But for a everyday car you can't beat the Pure & Legende 👌
Dude, this car is gorgeous. That motor sound, French cars are so underrated. They’re so good, the design reminds me of a retro 90s/modern. The performance and lightweight sounds like it is nimble, casual drive, and very drivers car.
Must of non petrol head people think French do not know how to do a good car... My megane 3 rs cup 265 is a masterpiece, and what do I dream of? An alpine A110.
@@supercarsofgrimsby6953 what do you earn? We have gt3 rs 991.1, Clio r27 and megane 3 rs 265 cup at home. When we go on track, I can tell you that the ones with the most stars in their eyes, the best driving skills an know the most about mechanics and cars are often the ones with the little French fwd sports cars. Let me guess, you are the type of guy that says the fwd cars are not sports cars...
@@supercarsofgrimsby6953 maybe but that not the question. If you know about cars and driving you should know that a clio Williams or a focus rs mk1 are true petrol heads cars for biginers. Here in France the Renault sport brand is a big thing and a lot of anthousiasts love it.
@t c The YV were initially concerned about fuel prices, not CO2 taxes; most of them can't even afford sports cars in the first place, let alone a £50,000 one. You also have to take into account the rebate system for buying new cars in France. When you buy are new car in France, you can get a rebate of up to £2000 on eco-friendly models (hybrids, electric, etc), and a penalty for cars with high CO2 emissions. Furthermore, the CO2 tax is only for new cars and fleet vehicles. So if you were to buy second-hand (like most people), you wouldn't have to pay anything CO2 taxes for a near-new Alpine of Boxster.
This is so awesome Dan. Kudos and Congrats on getting yourself into the most desirable new car available today. Wishing you many many happy and enjoyable miles!

My dad, who drove an original Alpine in student rally events in the late 1970’s, bought a 110. This car just brings a smile to everyone who drives it (including me) in a way that no other car does.
Alan Wayte yeah the new 718 engines don’t sound like much at all, they definitely go well but the sound is so important. Even the new GT4 is muted allot compared to the last GT4, in staying that it sounds better than almost every other car out there. Excluding the Lotus’s ;)
Awesome video, great and genuine A110 endorsement, if only these cars were available in the US. This car would be awesome in the Cali canyons, or my local Ozark twisties. Exhausts are the mainstay of the aftermarket, that is a minor fix! Glad to see no flask of tea in this video, this car needs a driver who swigged French Roast before hitting the twisties. Was lucky enough to visit the Renault show store in Paris this year, but no time to go to the suburbs and visit an Alpine dealer, would liked to have seen an A110 in person.
Well done! These are great little cars! It’s fantastic that it handles well because its light and therefore responsive. I would be very excited to watch my own car travel down a production line; what a treat!
It is very pleasant to see and listen to a new owner talking about his passion for his new car. I can understand it when it comes to the new Alpine. I probably couldn't afford to own one; but an Alpine from the first period (from the 80s)...Maybe soon....
Always like the Alpine A110, first got to see one at Goodwood, but it's the lightness of the car coupled with RWD which are the real selling points of the car for me, have fun.
I absolutely love these, I would one of these over lots of other cars! Dan is very similar to me, not fussy about interiors likes the basic principles of driving. 😎👌
I know how you feel when you get to drive your car from new, especially when you’ve had to wait some time for delivery. Felt the same way when I picked up my MINI JCW 3 door from the dealer with 5 miles on the clock (Had to wait over 4 months because of the spec and options I selected plus a build slot, eventually built and assembled in the Born plant in the Netherlands) I also did a running in period (1000miles) just to make sure everything bedded in correctly before I slowly increased the speeds. Enjoy the Alpine, a future collectable for sure.
@@KRBY555 Yes I still have it; registered 15/7/2016 can’t bring myself to swap it in for something fresher yet, makes me smile every time I take it out. As you can guess it’s a second car so still very low mileage as only used for pleasure.
why a car like this wouldn't have a manual gearbox option is beyond me. it's a driving experience car and for a lot of people, a manual gearbox is a HUGE part of the experience of driving
nyc863 except F1 drivers use their cars as a tool, not driving experience. A110 owners aren’t driving to win races, their just driving for the pleasure of doing so.
@@ALMX5DP I'm 100% confident that F1 drivers - or any other race drivers that don't need to rev match with a clutch pedal - enjoy the process of driving fully and completely.
@@ALMX5DP You're confused. Nobody is saying that a manual isn't fun. The lack of a manual isn't necessarily less fun. This isn't a game where driving is a pie chart and removing the "manual" slice removes 25% of the fun.
Great video and thanks for sharing the purchasing process! Need to see more from Dan definitely on here! Where were the location at the first 2 mins btw? Looks rather familiar but can't quite remember!
Smart and enviable choice, Dan. Well done! I think you spec'd yours perfectly. As an owner of your car's spiritual brother from another mother, a 981 Cayman, I salute you. Looking forward to the day they might sell the A110 in the states. I would be seriously tempted to make the switch. I would really be interested in knowing how yours holds up to spirited driving, so please post a follow up ownership video after you put some more miles on the clock. It's beautiful. Enjoy, sir!
Love the car and the way it has been specd. Difficult to see any negatives about the Alpine apart from luggage storage. Will be interesting to hear how it copes with 'long trips away'....
It's a matter of taste. Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren does this also...when you are used to it; it's fine 😉 This is the idea behind it; In a road car, column-mounted is better. In a race car, wheel-mounted is better. Reason being that in a race car, you pretty much never move your hands on the wheel, so the paddles are always "right there". In a road car, you need to turn the wheel a lot further, so it's best to have the paddles stationary.
@@Franzino Column mounted even feels better on track. It's not as intuitive, but the feeling of moving your fingers across to the shifter. It's just silly little things like that, they just make the experience that bit better.
I'm actually contemplating ditching my Ferrari 612 for one of these. This video is helping persuade me it's the right decision. I too would not go for a sports exhaust, as it just warns of unintelligent idiot alert.
Okay it's just twigged that this is a French alpine, not and Alpina (the badges that look like they say z4 don't help!) Good to see that they're making cars for sale in the UK again.
Compare this chaps experience with the buying experience of the car compared to JayEmm and his 2 videos on the McLaren experience of his friends and the purchase of 2 cars
Alot of car you tube channel's love this car. It's not available here in the US but even if it was it doesn't do anything for me. I am glad you are enjoying it never the less
It's a shame over here in the U.S that this car is not available. Hopefully, Renault/Alpine will come to the States one day. For now, I will enjoy my budget gt86
Congrats Dan, I am pleased you bought what I call the individualists choice, versus the more regular options.. Did I hear it correctly deny you a gear change when you went for it... nevermind, perhaps in time you can grow with this car into the Litchfield 300 bhp model... when you want something new from it...
There might be a chance with Renault being part of the alliance with Nissan & Mitsubishi of course , but surely they would of re-badged Renault's as Mitsubishi's by now as they have a fantastic range of stylish cars or would Nissan lose sales as a result. Unfortunately the hand-built limited production process is likely to rule that out as they will not shift enough units to make it profitable combined with the cost of more rules & regulations to sell it in the U.S. makes it unlikely !
Aidan Wilson Agree on the costs of meeting US crash test and emissions regulations, I.e homologating (think that is the right word), for the US market. Was hoping that Nissan would sell rebadged Meganes in the US, but never happened, so like you say maybe less chance with a special car like an A110. Then again, turning on the 2020 optimism switch, what if they added the US regulation homologation to the cost of the car in the US, trained up Infiniti service centers to handle the cars, and charged considerably more for the car here in the US? It would increase volume and longevity of the model and help the currently weakened alliance. Suggest it would lure in some 718 customers and maybe cheaper than an Evora.
@@93455Driver I'm sure alliance bosses have debated many times , especially since Mitsubishi joined 3 years ago , about introducing new models to the US market but i guess the numbers didn't add up or it's not the right time , no doubt they compared the Alpine with it's closest rival , the Alfa Romeo 4C to help predict whether there is still enough demand for a small lightweight , agile , 2 seater sports car. Servicing the A110 is very specialised for instance , so training all the technicians & mechanics would not come cheap & even on such a bespoke car there must be a limit to how much they can charge without affecting the sales numbers !.
The ND is a great car which also has a manual gearbox, NA engine, is convertible, and is about half the price. But there's a good chance this Alpine will suffer very low depreciation so it could work out surprisingly affordable.
I was wondering, how much is the Alpine Vs a Cayman ! I Love how Renault gave us this new Alpine, and they really put some effort to it. Is there any other Comparison ? Any other than Cayman? Cayman and Alpine ..Mid Engine, I know I doesn't beat a NSX...
Great choice of buying your own car after all the ones you get to test 👍🏻 Now you’ve had the car a year or so, perhaps it’s time you head back to Lichfield and try their Stage 1 kit for the Alpine on their red demonstrator I think that will make you car perfect and sort out the exhaust too for about £1 for every Kilogram your car weighs 🚙🇫🇷💙
