Alpine ILX W-650. reverse camera problem...help!!!

I have that same Radio in my wrangler. Worked fine for years. Now when I drive the camera turns on by itself. I read somewhere to add a ground to the rca connection to the rear camera. So behind the radio attach a ground to the main ground and the other end to wrap the ground around where the rca’s connect. Like a jumper.

It almost seems like the radio is seeing an ignition source on the reverse wire. Reason being is I noticed with the car ON the reverse wire is seeing 12v. When you turned the car off and let it sit with only the accessory on it stopped seeing the 12v signal.

Is the reverse wire from the light going to the radio the only wire you have hooked up?

My problem that th lines and cones come up when I put it in reverse but it stays black, any ideas how to fix it.

Did you ever find a fix???? Mine worked ok for a while but suddenly it started to do the same as yours. I opted to disconnect both cameras since I have front and rear connected. This fix the issue but i have no cameras 😭😏

Have you tried resetting the stereo? Also I remember reading some where about disconnecting the ground from the camera itself.

Quick update I wire up the orange wire with the orange wire and white together so whenever I turn my lights on it would send me to that black screen

Did anyone ever figure it out? I just did on mine. It was the reverse wire on the head unit itself. It needs the power to power up the camera and to send the signal to the head unit

I don’t have a reverse camera at all and it’s giving me that black screen
