I messaged him about Godspeed hopefully he’ll get the mono max because that’s what I got and they’re smooth on a freeway and city streets if the streets are too bumpy lol
I have a set of MSR's on my car. The ride is really good I enjoy it a lot. Yeah Its stiff but way more useable than cheap lowering springs...Good choice If you are young like me or you r on a budget. No need to spend 1000dollhair on KW or TEIN etc. I highly recommend it!
You can’t beat free. It really seems like it’s a 50/50 with these coils. Either way, the more information we get, the better. Hope you do end up getting that Godspeed deal, just so we get more vids from you. Midnight sounds amazing at those high rpms. 👍
nooOO! It happens brother, glad you are able to get it positioned correctly. This is giving you more suspension experience to say the least! You'll be pro as fuck with setting up your ride in no time. Top hats are tricky, if you go with something like tein in the future, pick up a brand new MATCHING set of KYB top hats, the latest version is the best, super quiet, and can support coilovers exceptionally well. Just went through similar shenanigans this past summer. I kept OEM springs, and did KYB replacements all around. GL CHEERS!
I have a Quinn digital torque wrench from harbor freight. Was about $170 I believe. It's been very accurate and comes in handy often. I watched plenty of reviews before I bought it. Even beat out snap on 😂
Fg2k20z3 black paint twin, hey shoutout Gerb for his humility, positivity, technical & consistent content, Honda for Life, get thay etherium dip, Amc squeeze still comin 💰
@@TheGerbsteve the steering wheel just stiff like no power steering feeling, egb18b1 life no power steering lol track daily driver. Have you considered going to Honda dealer for reprogramming with they advanced scanners
you should just swap out the pillow ball bearing to better ones with Teflon lining. if you put grease on it it will attract more dirt. I'm in the process of changing out mine on my tein monoflex
@@adam600044 I put 175k miles on a set in my 08 Civic SI. Just installed tein coilovers in my 2015 6-6 3.5 Accord for a nice 2.8 drop. They'll go in the next wip too
My suspension is basically eBay parts, lca's, subframe brace sway bar, bushings and 20mm spacers from ebay, i grease everything up and double check I got the right torque specs on the spacer the only thing not from ebay are the skunk2 coilovers and to be honest, Im very happy with the quality. After almost a year the skunk2s already feel like they're going out, feeling more bounce than before so I'm guna try maxpeeding rods and compare them after a year and see If they're is a noticeable difference. Like with everything before I'ma grease it up and see how long it last.
That's called spring binding the springs are dry what they sit on just lube them up with white lithium grease cause when you turn the wheel it's so dry the spring just cant turn. I had godspeed and rev 9 they had the same noise. Untill I learned that problem. Goodluck!
Bouncy in the rear and noisy in the front, that’s just how they are lol I did manage to fix the front end spring binding and noise, but overall max speeding rods coil overs are a total joke and trash

Bro are you sure the top hats are installed in the right orientation? they are a camber plate adjuster and if they slide forward and back they cant adjust camber. They need to be able to slide inward or outwards. I had to reinstall mine as well. i did a review on these same coilovers for an fa5 over on 8th gen forum and had this no grease issue as well. Awesome video bro youre a honda hero 💯
When I thought I was going to mod my Si I spent a lot of time reading up on 8th gen forums, and it seemed like most folks that spent less than $500 on new coil-overs were disappointed in one way or another.
Hey man I got mine new and there was a good amount of oil in the bag should I be worried? I’m half tempted to throw them on and see if is just residual but it was on the box as well.
I would be sketched out on getting cheap suspension parts.. idk your situation but for myself I went ahead and got good coilovers. I've had my tein flex z's on for almost 2years with no issues
Yeah i maxed mine out too. I greased my and turn the damping all the way up they drive perfect I don't know what the problem is . I think it's user era cause my maxspeedingrods are fucking awesome but I put alot of prep time into them , I didn't just take them out off the box and install them
dude, i had oem suspension for a while and had this exact same clunky noise, and I swore it was the struts, so I had them replaced with Silvers coilovers, but they still clunk exactly the same way, just like yours! I don't understand lmao. That clunk sounds so nasty
Looking through your uploads it doesn't look like you went with the GodSpeed coil overs after all, how are the Maxpeeding rods holding up after about a year? Any other issues or problems with them?
@@TheGerbsteve I've actually watched a few videos on that as well. It's the upper pillow ball mount. They need grease desperately. The set I ordered (haven't installed yet luckily) the spherical bearing/housing is pretty much dry. I'm going to pack the hell out of it with marine grease.
I guess you get what you pay for. $350 for some coilovers seems pretty cheap when some springs are almost already at that price. Your suspension takes a beating every time you drive it so i personally would not cheap out on coilovers, but I definitely wouldn’t buy the most expensive either lol
I’m not trying to knock you bro but a traditional spring and strut set up is move expensive than these. Point being that if you want to upgrade to coils, Maxxspeeding rods price point should scare you. Suspension is important and I wouldn’t put my life on these
Why you want a digital torque wrench? Get a good brand click type and you’ll be good to go. And why don’t hardwire that radar detector to the fuse box and get that wire out of the way of the radio? Sorry that drives me nuts seeing that wire there lol
All my stocks are blown old. 06 fg2 266k miles. Fbo! I need new ones. Helppp! Lmao. Seriously:(. Thanks for being so honest with these bro. They. Not great but. They work
266k, what a beast! I'd go mid range priced coils or you could try these if you really want to. I'm not going to steer my fanbase wrong. They are decent for the price, but there are better
I bought some eBay cheap ones that look like yours and they didn’t last long and the same side came lose and I end up switching back to stock. Too bumpy and made my car way too low to use my car jack.
The driver side coil is still wrong u need to rotate them and if they don’t line up take the right coil and put on the left and left one on the right just take off the bottom part that connects to the knuckle swap to the other side
You should really try to get that coilover replaced. There’s probably next to no compression anymore and the spring is the only thing absorbing shock. If you hit the wrong bump at higher speed, it’ll unsettle the car and lose control
The max speeding coils he used them maybe a month and switched back . I hope yours fit your drag needs .I tempted to try them one day but Im will let my cousin buy them first lol .
@@TheGerbsteve Well, they Feel like stock, especially in my cu2 Tsx. But man, I'm getting bored with the 5at trans, I'm jealous of my gf with her 07 Acura Csx type S k20z3... lsd trans is life, that's why I started watching some of your older videos and now trying to catch up with the new contain ! My gf has the Eibach Pro line Lowering lit front and rear. For the rear, I installed new KYB shocks and front are still the ol' monroe stuff from the previous owner hahah ! Conclusion, My car feels more like a sporty boat (rides soft, but no body toll at all that's impressive) and my gf' csx feels like a sport car. Aggressive, responsive, less body roll than stock obv, but I still prefer her car .... :)) fa5 ftw oh and cu2 community is great too !!!
Yeah never get these coil overs again man I get that it’s a budget build but what’s the point of it if you got to be constantly taking them off to fix them your time cost money two bro just get a decent low price set of Godspeeds and call it a day. And trash those current coil overs
Should’ve gotten some quality suspension and done the job once. Even Godspeed is dirt cheap suspension I would never run on my car. Tein or fortune auto lol
For free I'd run them. Think with the back leaking all the oil out I'd swope them out for something else so it's only coasting u a little money. Or just ride them till ya have the bcc money saved up. Or the godspeeds if u get a deal. But when it comes to suspension u shouldn't cheap out there. That break's an tires are my main parts I dont cheap on.
