Fuck. I've never been too big a fan of the "Shirou Kotomine" concept but you just made me realize it'd make him have Caren as a sister, and now I really wish it would happen.

Not A Smith actually there is already a comic about that (doesn’t explain everything here but it shows the beginning of this AU’s 5HGW) Shirou chose to go to the church instead (was not shown but was implied) he still get into the HGW and summoned saber, but the saber he summoned was alter, that was about all we got from that comic, we got shown the beginning of a fight scene which ended before it even started, I have not found anything else that is related to this AU so idk how the HGW ended in this one nor why there are mud monsters

MrDibara the idea with this AU is that Kerry didn’t save Shirou, but Kirei did, hence Kotomine Which would give him a much better sister than Illya tbh.

​@@elegelicaleyes2199 No, I'm fairly aware of this AU's origin, but I don't think it was that good. The concept is interesting, but when you try to actually expand on it, you realize there's no reason why Kotomine would ever save a little kid Shirou instead of just using him as fuel for Gilgamesh. If anything, I would rewrite the entire setting for Shirou having just returned from a school excursion, just in time to witness the destruction of his entire neighbourhood from afar. He then (as he's unsuccessfully trying to find his family) bumps into another member of the Church who was sent to Fuyuki in order to investigate further Risei's and Tokiomi's deaths. This priest or nun (whichever) would then rescue Shirou from going in further, which would cause him to die, and instead takes him away from the Mud spreading away. The Church member then feels Shirou deserves to be told the truth at least once, even if his memories are to be erased soon afterwards, and explains very shallowly that whatever was happening was the result of the Holy Grail War, a ritual performed by Magi. (bear in mind, this member of the Church knows very little about the ritual itself, so he/she can't exactly explain in great detail) He/She then explains a bit further about the Holy Church's role as supervisors, despite being heavily opposed to Magi practices. The priest/nun is then about to take Shirou to have his memory erased, when he/she is surprised to hear the little boy claim that he wants to join the Church. He wants to become an Executor. And he wants to stop Magi from ever causing an event of such a scale ever again! Surprised and touched, the Church investigator hesitantly decides to adopt the boy. And that would be my sinopsis for a Shirou who has joined the Church, trained since early on to become an Executor and still wants to act in the shadows during the Fifth Holy Grail War. Obviously, his main differences would be his capabilities (he wouldn't be a fully-fledged Executor like Kotomine, but he was trained really well), his tactics (basically a sneaky assassin and deadly meele fighter) and also his relationship with the rest of the cast (this Shirou would hate or at least despise Magi in general, so he would have quite the hidden animosity towards Rin, Sakura, Shinji and basically any Magus character he came across). Sadly, I haven't dwelved much deeper into how exactly would he participate in this War. Would he be a Master, again? Or would he be an independant force, acting on his own despite the danger the Servants pose to him? Obviously, he wouldn't be given the role of Supervisor, he's still too unexperienced. But I won't lie I would've love to see a different take on Shirou. How he would've turned out to be had he not been found and raised by Kiritsugu. SPEAKING OF THE DEVIL, in this imaginary timeline of mine, Kiritsugu would obviously still search the wreckages for survivors, only this time he obviously wouldn't find anybody. So he feels crushed, believing everything he had done was for nothing and thus, he immediately flies back to Germany in order to get Illya back. And HERE's where things get different! 1 - Kiritsugu originally stayed quite a bit of time with Shirou until he had fully recovered before trying to get Illya back again. This time, Kiritsugu goes to save Illya straight away. 2 - Kiritsugu had originally placed Avalon inside Shirou in order to save him. As a result, Angra Mainyu's curse took a faster burn on Kerry's body. That doesn't happen in this timeline, as Kiritsugu kept Avalon inside his body to hold back the curse long enough for him to at least get Illya out fo the Einzberns' hands. 3 - Kiritsugu is actually successful in invading the Einzbern castle and rescuing Illya, getting her out of there before Jubstacheit von Einzbern did any of his alterations on Illya's body. But the conflict to get her out of there spends Avalon's remaining Mana and intensifies the curse in his body. As a result: 4 - Kiritsugu dies only three years after having rescued Illya, only long enough to enjoy _some little_ quality time while also mainly focusing on helping her develop her Magecraft in order to fight to defend herself. Long story short, Illya still learns to use Healing and Alchemy like she does in the VN and the anime/movies. The difference is obviously the output. She has GREAT Magic potential, but nothing absurdly buffed like the usual Stay Night Illya, so you won't see her popping up *four* bird familiars out at the same time. Two would be her limit. On the other hand, Illya would have _some grasp_ of Kiritsugu's more combat-effective methods of fighting. Aka, she won't be showing up chest-puffed like Magi usually do, she'll mostly stick to the shadows and not being seen, while also luring enemies out with illusions of herself. She would favor ambushes and a quick end rather then a confrontation. And this is me just going overboard with this whole thing, but Illya would also inherit both Avalon (physically this time, not imbued in her body or anything) and YES, she would try in her own way find a path of becoming a Hero of Justice, one that might not be as misguided as her father's. She'd then enter the Fifth Holy Grail War with the intent of putting an end to the cursed ritual once and for all. Btw, yes. SHE would've summoned Saber, and the two would innitially not see eye-to-eye due to Saber not being too keen to believe Illya's story about what happened and why the Grail must be destroyed. _Yeeeeaaaaah..._ As you can see... this actually started out as a timeline where Illya is the protagonist, but still participating on the Holy Grail War, and not that Fate/Kaleid completely different world. I just really wanted to see Illya and Saber fighting together. And the cherry on the top of all that would be Shirou, having not been saved by Kiritsugu, ironically become her nemesis of sorts as an Executor in training who is very dedicated and deadly, opposing her at every turn. That's where my imagination started, really. :P Sorry for writing this Bible! I got a bit carried away. ^_^'
