Yes, I agree. If I remember correctly, Miles even kind of hid his guitar skills initially.

@@DadDaughtersandDrinks Kind of… he played lead in his previous band Mayfield Four, but it was more grunge style without technical guitar solos for the most part. He was guitar for his previous bands too, and was a guitar teacher as a side gig between shows. Tremonti heard some technical jazz guitar coming from Myles’ room one night, and was surprised to see it was actually Myles playing the intricate music. Mark immediately said that there’s no way they aren’t gonna take advantage of his guitar skills starting on their second album ‘Blackbird’. Myles just assumed he was brought on to be a vocalist only and didn’t presume to push his skills onto the band - so in that respect, you could say he was hiding it. But it was likely more so that he didn’t want to step on any toes or ‘rock the boat’….not realizing that Mark is also a good guy not defensive about his standing as the ‘lead guitarist’. They obviously respect each other and are each other’s greatest supporters, who only want what’s best for their band and each other. The rest is history, and they’ve been a two guitar band since👍🎸😎
