I am Louise Lacroix. I am writing these set of letters so that perhaps one day, my sons and grandsons will look at this and say, "I will make it my life's work to restore France's glory lost in this treacherous war initiated by those Germans." I was in Paris at the time of the French declaration of war. Spain had been placed under a rule of a ruler who did not deserve to be their king, and France had done the right thing by sending an ultimatum to Germany to remove Leopold from power. However, in the end, Germany refused this and began to mobilize. I wonder if our reckless emperor would've been able to win this war if he mobilized for longer. His mistake probably cost us our power. Germany managed to overrun the unprepared French forces and they sieged Paris. For days we had to live under smoke and the fear of being bombarded by shells. It was a difficult time. We starved. I was put into a sickness because of the siege, since I am only 18. When France had to cede lands and lose their political might in order to appease the Germans, my blood boiled. My head pounded. My heart beat. How?! How could they do such things?! I am a direct descendant of Charlemagne himself, and I am married to a man of noble descent; a Lacroix. This… THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS! I AM A FRENCH PATRIOT BY HEART, AND THEY DARE DESECRATE MY COUNTRY?! I apologize for my outburst earlier, but it is the only way to express my grief and fury. I will do everything I can to restore France's glory. Whatever the cost. Even if I have to pay my life for this. Germany, and Spain, you shall pay. Let us see how much you are gloating once the French flag has been risen over Berlin and Madrid. (Little did she know, that in an alternate timeline, her sons and grandsons would truly restore France's glory.) Edit: Woah 11 likes? Thanks guys! I'll definitely make new stories/letters for the next videos to come! But, can you give me criticisms and stuff I need to improve on? It'd be great!
Greetings everyone! This is something new I wanted to try out. It may not be what you are used to, but I hope you can enjoy it nevertheless. Make sure to watch the entire video to get where I am going with this series! Thanks to Joshy for helping me greaty with the map and shoutout to Multi Music for being one of the last reliable sources of fresh music in those times! I was talking earlier about how some videomappers of alternate scenarios don’t make their videos as realistic or as eye pleasing as possible This fits both categories
I think Spain also would gain French Basque country. Yes, i know, that it was never part of Spain, but it would make a lot of sense. Basques would be more loyal to Leopold.
0:13 "But I'm not perfect" AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH, THAT'S THE BEST JOKE I'VE EVER HEARD. Anyway, is the continuation of this gonna be like your previous series, with countries that speak etc. or more narrative like this episode?
The Ducth-Belgian border is wrong Belgium owns a part of North Brabant which they never owned.(unless another alternate history event happend before this one) But a good video nonetheless
It is, since it is not about winning or losing, it is about the result. The changes that were caused by little differences in History. And this Germany is quite different to ours, is it not?
@@thealternatezeitgeist5950 I think it isn't credible because the French entered in the war for "the humiliation of his ambassador" so for declare war to Spain they probably asked to Austro-Hungarian Empire to help them. After an alternative isn't often credible.
@@tamanoir6474 i thought this was a different Video lol This is more acting as a test for me to make this kind of Video. But despite that, I tried to make it plausible enough. Your point about Austria-Hungary is questionable, they lost their war against Italy and the NGF even before that, both Nations have interest against the French. The risk would be too high, especially France is not even an Austrian ally. Why would Austria help France in its own offensive war? Revanchism? At the risk of drawing the currently Pro-Prussian Italians and possibly even the Russians in a European war? I Doubt that.
@@thealternatezeitgeist5950, may I ask how exactly is this Germany different from our Germany? Aside from having Spain as an ally, unifying earlier, and cleaning up their western border gore by annexing Luxembourg?
