on one of them you just squeeze with your fingers to disconnect it. and on the other one just take the nut off. I have a little inspection mirror with the light on it that I bought from Harbor Freight. that helps me to see hidden areas.
Did this last night on a LS V8... took me almost 5 hours. What a PITA. Advice #1, use some zip-ties to move the AC lines out of the way to ease the extraction of the alternator. It's a tight fit! Advice #2, After removing the three bolts holding the alternator, the top was still hung and wouldnt come out. I had to use a pry bar and a hammer to get it to move.
I did this on a cold day two years ago and it was a pain. When it was over, I remember figuring out a trick that would have saved me so much trouble. I just cannot remember what it was! My battery light is coming on and my car stalls when I plug in my ac adapter, so I think it might be time to do it again!
Hi. I just got the radio repaired on a 2001 Lincoln ls. The check traction control light and abs light came on. And I saw the battery and oil light come on. Tried to crank the car and it'll turn over but it won't start? Can you please help?
Hello I am looking to change mine but I can't figure out where it's located I am not super car savvy. I can't tell from the video if you're underneath or looking from on top. Can you get me some directions to find the alternator? Thank you
Z K I'm underneath the car and I'm showing the video from the passenger side of the front wheel working my way toward the middle of the car. but it's before you get to the middle of the car because you only need to jack up passenger front side of the car
You have to go underneath the car. It is heavy. If it drops while the wires are attached it will probably snap the wires. I also have a video on taking off the belt.
but u need to take it to Aline it 1 ur done or not?, i don't have many tools n i m struggle in to get the upper 1, don't have the socket for this 1 n don't know the size
