Alternator Power Wire Upgrade! S&H Performance (05-10 Ford Mustang GT)

Removing the fusible link is not a good idea. The fusible link is the "skinny wire" you mentioned. It is always a smaller gauge section of wire on the power feed from the alternator so if there is a short in the alternator. it melts and disconnects before your car catches fire. The boot over the power connection is not to prevent water intrusion, it is to minimize the chance you hit that to ground. Also that is a poor location to put the ground wire. If it loosens and touches the power terminal since you removed the fusible link your car burns to the ground.

2005Ranger. I can’t figure out where the power cable coming off my alternator is going. It’s neither the starter/solenoid or battery. Any help would be great.

Hey man love the content about to put this same kit on my 05 and had a question for you, I saw you installed the Super Single in a past video and I was curious did the super single kit come with everything needed to do the degas tank bypass mod or did you have to source additional parts for that? Was there any codes , Before the change.After putting my novi 2200 on , boost air/ fuel gauge. The first day got the PO134 driving at night with heater on then about a year later same deal . I have had this set up about two years, only twice have had that issue. The second time the radio was making that wining noise . Was shop installed I figured the alternator is slowing going out .I guess the 05/07 have alternator issues that causes that code. Might try the wire kit first definitely couldn’t hurt. Still on my stock 5 speed auto also looking TCI trans the 1025 hp one but 3700 dollars is a lot of money .Already did the TCI TQ Converter 3500 stall, Do to cams love it . Don’t know how long this trans will hold up. 60k miles on car about 7000 on 10 lbs boost been trying to take easy on it . The last two things I need to do are trans and reared, But I think the trans is first .

Too bad that auto manufacturers don't do a better job on their electrical designs. Anyway, I noticed that there was no mention of a fusible link on the alternator wire . I guess they did something different on this Mustang. My 2002 Mustang has a fusible link on the alternator wire at the battery.
