Amazing work. I work in a Aluminium foundry and showed this video to my colleagues there. It really went viral among them. Although the process of die casting Aluminium for serial parts is quite different (see teslas mega press video for that) they immediately started discussing what he could do to improve the cast, like pressurizing it, different temperatures etc. etc. :D It’s amazing to see this connection between foundryman although they have so different jobs

Also using a finished part for a pattern isn't good as there's no allowance for shrinkage.
@trueaussie9230
@trueaussie9230 2 года назад
It depends on the purpose of the item you're casting. If the finished item doesn't have to 'mate exactly' with any other item, allowing for 'shrinkage' is less relevant. Some years ago I needed to 'repair' 1 of 2 brass 'feet' on a firescreen. I puzzled for weeks over how to create a pattern to cast a replacement and create an 'exact size' replica. A friend proposed the obvious solution. The 'feet' don't need to 'mate exactly' with the screen, they only need to mirror each other. Use the unbroken foot as the pattern to cast TWO replacements that, after 'shrinking', will be identical.

We have it as good as we do because our ancestors laid the groundwork for us to have a better future, as we lay the ground work for future generations to have better technology, infrastructure, health care etc. Their societies clearly had other ideas, ideas that obviously didn't work. @@johnriggs4929 I honestly appreciate the determination, but as someone who comes from an engineering background, I don't really see any skill as such. What's being demonstrated here would have been impressive in the early part of the 19th century, but not today. Which is exactly the issue that faces many far Eastern and Middle Eastern countries. Their technology is far below the standards we have. Instead of developing, they're using out dated methods to keep their old junk going. It's a cool hobby, if you're restoring an old car and can't find obsolete parts, people copy them, either in this manner or by 3D printing them in plastic and casting them in metal. Even headlamps get copied in silicone moulds using epoxy as the material. But to run a country on this level of technology is really quite sad. Cuba springs to mind, I've met a few people from there. Make do and mend, but otherwise, the place is a living hell.

For sure you will fail if you are not in the industry because although this is the most basic casting techniq, it is not as simple as what you see. The sand for casting is not the normal sand but they are mixed with some substances at a particular ratio to ensure the proper moisture level and to help the mould keep its form. Also you need to know where to put the pouring hole and ventilation to avoid bubbles and the melt iron does not cool down too fast so all the space is filled...

I respect these people for trying to have some kind of workmanship, but the difference between this and good quality products, is that, the quality of the metal being used. They melted random pieces of aluminum laying around. A manufacturer tests and knows the exact elements needed to make a good quality product that will be durable and last. This is where you're money goes when you buy name brand tools and metal, and also, why the cheap ones break easily. They just aren't made out of the correct formula. Notwithstanding, if the latest technology is not available and it is imperative to have a particular object one must 'make do'. Generally speaking, those who have 'grown up' relying on the latest technology being available have no idea how to 'make do' - ie they don't understand and can't relate to 'the basics' of their 'craft'. @@eldragon4076 people may flame you for saying that, but it is absolutely true that people feel miserable when the are denied things that the THINK they want. But wanting something we can't have is what makes us miserable, regardless of what it is. The truth is happiness is found in being content. Ita not like we're all miserable because teleportation and holosuites aren't invented and readily available. And if you feel bad about some people in the world being poorer than others, that's fair and kind of you. But do keep in mind that the last 70 years have seen more spread of average wealth world wide that the human race has ever achieved in its thousands of years of history. We are just looking at the process and noticing the disparity, but comapred historically... we are all longer lived and wealthier, across the world. It is sad that the whole world didnt magically make everybody a copy of every new technological device that comes out... but it's also a Fantasy to consider that an option. The real solution is what we're looking at, and it works around the reality of humans not being the BEST at sharing, and yet we've shared more than ever before since WW2 and the Indstrial Revolution specifically

@nikkonikko6422
@nikkonikko6422 2 года назад
☝️☝️☝️that right thure! I took sheet metal fab instead but in same shop same teacher. Out shop teacher told us a story that 3 years prior some guys went into the melting room to chew some tobacco, this would have been around 2003, so they end up spitting into the form that they pour molten aluminum into, the next class some guys end up pouring into the form without checking it's 💯 dry, any small water droplets will cause molten aluminum to explode violently says he, anyway, it blows up and sprays all over the room and the guys, they end up getting 2nd and up to 3rd degree burns. In the same HS was walking away from our lunch room and the stairs that lead to a lower level had a little balcony type deal with a bench and ppl would constantly sit in the edge to "chill" or take photos, beyond the edge would be the drop to the lower level below which is a concrete slab, about 12-15' below, so no joke. So I just made my way down and I just passed a guy on top sitting on the edge, I make it about 30 feet down, this was between two buildings so echo was superb (In a bad way) I hear this THUD I turn around and I see people rushing, I heard this guys body hit the ground, it was like a hollow mass hitting a solid mass, a very unpleasant sound when you know what just happened, I see the guy breathing deep like he's dying and bleeding from the mouth, I leave shortly as everyone is gathered and teachers are there telling everyone to clear, later we hear "updates" on the guy but nothing certain, sometimes over the intercom, couple months later all the chatter about him is at zero now and no intercom mentions ever, I never saw the guy again and they never updated us for the for rest of the year, at that height I suspect he probably died. Crazy

Have you ever wondered where your soul goes after this life? We are sinners despite any tiny sins we commit like lying, bad thoughts, or cussing. It doesn't even matter how many good deeds we do because one little sin is bad enough already. We cannot make it up to heaven on our own will. Our God, Jesus Christ, decided to come down to Earth as a SINLESS human and sacrificed His life for our sins. Then He resurrected three days later! Therefore if you believe in your heart that Jesus Christ is your Savior, you'll definitely have eternal life. Your existence is proof that God is real. Consider this: A creation like you have a Creator. Only in the Bible does it mention that God is the Creator of mankind. God is the only one who can create your body, your organs, your features, your blood, and fingerprints. That is why nobody has the same finger prints nor DNA as you. YOU ARE UNIQUE THANKS TO OUR GOD, JESUS CHRIST! Have a great day!

@rifats17 2 года назад
@@user-hy4lg8gk3v Для мопедов видать и так сойдёт как на видео, но можно же как-то расти в производственном плане, у нас бы новое оборудование б освоили, либо новые способы литья, благо интернет позволяет.
