The mark of a great song is when it can be performed in different styles, by different people, and it sounds fresh and new. One thing I always appreciate about your music is how you don't "over sing." You don't pierce our eardrums, going up and down the scale, trying to hit every note you're capable of, just to show it off, just because you can. You use your voice to bring out the beauty of the song. I think that is so important and something lacking in many singers today. Lovely job, as always!

I agree, singing very beautifully is more than enough! Over time, it is just more enjoyable to listen to. You don't have to do the acrobatics with your voice. There are exceptions to everything, but I think Emily's interpretations are just perfect for her voice.

Always on my mind was recorded by Brenda Lee and first released by Gwen McCrae in March 1972. Brenda Lee's version was released three months later, in June 1972. The song was a "crossover hit", charting in both the country and western and pop categories. Elvis Presley's recording was the first successful version of the song (November 1972)

There is a plethora of covers of Willie Nelson's signature song available for viewing on RU-vid, some poorly done, others quite average, a few respectable, but none great, except for this; be forewarned: once you expose your eyes and ears to Emily's enchanting performance, silencing her voice and veiling her beauty from your memory will be impossible: she will forever be 'Always on your mind', and that's fine with me.

Such a full-bodied voice for someone so young. I can't shake the vision of a very young Diana Krall. Not only in vocal timbre but even in appearance there's a family resemblance in my opinion.
