Agree. For example right now I blew my hair out basically to manage it easier and not have to worry about single strand knots and breakage. Didn’t really care for it to be super flat

Powerful topic that resonate with empowering Women of Color, to wear their hair the way that they want without apologies. Changing those internal tapes playing in our heads. When I wore a weave it was generally natural, but the length bothered people because it reached my hips. I remember being frustrated with the comments, I wore it that length because I liked the length. I shouldn't have needed to justify what I was doing. That was in the 80's and now I see young women constantly wearing this length with no one commenting. Mindsets are changing. I think Influencers like yourself have been getting the positive self talk out and it's benefiting us all. Thanks for sharing this video.

This issue of we grow our hair because we want to look white is tiring, my dear sister. We have hair, and it grows out of our own scalps! When we wear it long, why should people say we are trying to emulate white people? Should we cut it to prove that we are black? Why? Hair grows! Loving your message and what you are saying is very true!

Hey sis ❤️ You're looking beautiful ❤️ as usual. I'm done with my final exams, it was one heck of a season but I thank God for everything 😊 I'm awaiting the results and I'm hoping for the best 🎉 You spilled a lot of wisdom in this video. Though I haven't gotten to my desired hair length but I think I'm getting to a point where I'm no longer stressing over long hair 😂 Honestly 😅 it was beginning to affect me mentally. I just do what I do with my hair coz she's mine 😂 I'm currently learning my hair like a course in school. I just want to take my time and really study her and then work accordingly. I'm done watching natural hair videos, I think I've spent sufficient time learning the dos and don'ts. Now it's time to apply and learn my hair for myself😊 I just want to feel free to do what I feel it's best for my hair so long as it's not hurting my hair. Not those constant policing and rules and regulations, and what not 😢 Thanks for this video ❤

The reality of Afro hair is that if you want it to grow beyond what was previously called "your natural terminal length", you must incorporate some form of stretching into your routine. What that entails depends on individual choices. Some people have strands that can tolerate high heat. Others don't and will work better with traditional African heatless methods. My hair is longer now. I am ready to embrace wearing it in a more stretched form. Even Indigenous Strandz started using RevAir on her knee-length hair.

Our hair is beautifully versatile! If we want to wear a afro we can, if we choose to wear it straight, we can, if we choose to wear it curly, we can! I wear wigs/weave during certain times of the year because it's my way of protecting my natural hair. Who cares what people say, blah, blah, blah. Someone will always have something to say about whatever they want to bug about! When I don't wear wigs, I get many stares because I guess they have never seen a melenated person with long hair, or maybe they are looking to see if my natural hair is my real hair! Lol!

To me the goal is more about letting women know that their hair can ne beautiful too, then grow from that. And I think you have attained that stage marvelously. Nevertheless there're still women that think that their hair texture cannot be beautiful at all, and that is what is addressed. The goal is really for all women to choose from a place of freedom, not of ignorance of what your hair can be. I understand you being tired of talking about this, it really shows that you have reached that goal. Your work with other RU-vidrs' will help bring all women with textured hair to the same goal: not necessarily long hair, but a free mind.❤ Much love ! 🤗

As a woman of color, i dont care what europeans do with their hair. GOD gave me 4c tight curly hair and my daughters too, we love it, embraced it long ago. Wear twist or i keep their hair in bantu knots.

I just want to say the majority of humans in this world has curly/wavy hair. Only a small amount have true staight hair and they are Chinese/Japanese. The "eurocentric look", the Europeans blowdry and flat iron and/or relax their hair for that straight Asian look. They have just has much issues as we do with hair. People just need to concentrate on their own head of hair. We all have a choice in how we wear our own hair. It's nice to watch your channel I get ideas of what I want to do next or get an answer to a question.

Honestly, even though I never speak negatively of people wearing wigs, weaves or extensions- deep down inside, I do wish they wouldn't do it as often as they do. The reason why? Because it does actually affect how people see me... My hair is waist length, but everyone assumes it's extensions. If I pause my protective styling(generally chunky twists tucked away in a bun) and do something special to my hair, like twist out, blow out, bantu knot out etc, the first thing people ask, as a preface, is: "That's your real hair?" Then I have to find definite words to assure them that it is in fact my hair- not bought- but growing from my scalp! I find it very insulting that people always assume it's not my hair, and this is as a consequence of so many of us, almost as a rule, wearing extensions, weaves or wigs. So, I guess I'm saying, people can do as they wish with their hair, yes, but when it becomes more of a RULE than an exception, it creates a stereotype that affects ALL black women, unfortunately. I know this was really long, but hopefully it gives you a possible reason why some are a little against it.... it affects them too.

Well said. It's so funny because even the most bone-straight- platinum- blond on a black person is still Afrocentric. I love the flexibility of styles that a black woman can experiment with. All women of all races are artists and should be celebrated in whatever way they choose to express their form🥰

I am always confused about the debates about hair. We shouldn't or should be wearing straight hair wig. Are we now expected to walk around wearing beads and Springbok skins? It boils down to the same thing. I have never owned a wig. For me, I don't want to wear wigs or weaves. I am way roo self-conscious. I'd be too worried if my wig is stlitting straight. As much as I want to shout from the rooftops that all hair is beautiful, I realised not everyone is ready to hear it and some hear it and believe it but still prefer a Eurocentric look. I worked with a group of kids for Father's Day and one little boy told his mom the aunty with the cool wild hair plays the piano for their song. Thats what I want .....for kids to think our wild hair is cool. I loved that so many of the kids had wild natural hair, not silk pressed hair as we usually see when the Sunday School is doing something special. I noticed tjhis Christmas day too but that was the church's teens wearing their natural hair in the fanciest of styles. That groupnstarted wearing their hair natural because of my niece . It just takes one to get the ball rolling.

What has been missing in the natural hair conversations is that the different textures of hair all came from Adam and Noah and his sons Ham,Shem and Japheth. Therefore, whatever hair type one inherits came from the possible mix of hamitic semetic and japhethic bloodlines. So the Euro/Afro/Asiatic hair typing ideologies is so off putting because at the end of the day hair texture comes through genetics and a person can have a personal preference for how they choose to deal with their hair. It has gotten quite toxic, tiring and BORING hearing the same old rhetoric about trying to look Eurocentric. I mean what is that really? Europe is a continent made up of different ethnicities and nationalities and looking "white" is so ignorant because the term "white" is a man made social construct status. Nothing else. Jehovah God categorized all mankind into nations, tribes, peoples (ethnicities) and tongues (languages). That's it. That's all. Periodt. Skin color wasn't even a determining factor for race because all mankind are of one Human Race!(Gen 3:20;10;Rev 4:11;7:9,10; Psalm 83:18) There will be no more issues about hair texture or race in paradise on earth under heavenly kingdom rule coming shortly. Righteous mankind will receive perfect human life forever and that means their hair will become perfect, so whatever perfect hair will be for each individual then, no one will have a problem with it. The old tripe about hair texture and race in this system of things will not be brought to mind ever again. (Isaiah 65:17,25; Rev 21:3-6; Psalms 37:11,29;Matt 24:3,14,42,44; 1 John 2:15-17) Appreciate you changing the narrative on your channel. Hope other natural hair influencers who express "controlled opposition" about natural hair will follow suit. Love the way you styled your head wrap,Pi. Thanks for sharing 🙏🏾💜💐😀🎉

I say own it. "Yes I'm trying to look 'white' , I guess. Why? Because their hair is easy and I save time by wearing a wig or crochet or braids. I still love my hair but I want the ease that other races have sometimes. My hair shrinks and wearing a wig or braids adds length and ease into my life"
