Hi, First of all thankyou for the information on getting coins from the bank... My wife goes and gets the coins and they always ask her what she needs them for. I only do 1 Hundred at a time on 50pences and 2 pound coins and they say the limit is 1 hundred pound but never said to the reason why, Now i know thank you' Or is it to do with Money laundering laws i wonder as they mentioned about the limit and not the reason to why. as always take care and good look in your hunts.

to help with getting change... car boot sale organisers ... seafront amusement park ...also with banks/post office you can order amount of coins week or so a head but not all the time if only a normal bank account also if u befriend a local corner shop or business owner then they will get the change for you too

13:28 not all coins were withdrawn, the shilling was worth 5p and the florin was worth 10p and remained in use for some time (apart from remaining early silver coins, they were filtered out of circulation quite quickly, presumably to recover the silver). The main reason they aren't still in circulation is that the 5p and 10p coins changed size and the shilling and florin sized coins were phased out along with the pre-decimal coins, so any remaining pre-decimal coins went with them. Back in the 1960s we used to regularly get coins from all eras, the Victorian pennies and halfpennies were particularly obvious because they generally oxidised and turned black - I don't know what was going on with the copper from that era!

Not forgetting the 6d, which could be used as a 2 1/2 pence piece until 1980. Not usual, but not uncommon, either

@TheOwlman - Back home, the 3d (ours was always a silver/cupronickel coin) became 2 1/2 cents on decimalisation. I have a small nightshade my father made of these 😄

Hi Christopher..brilliant video it's given me an insight on getting change bags from the banks..didn't think it could be that difficult!!! I know in the past pretences I found it very difficult to buy 5pounds coins from banks but change bags but will I ever...😊🤘

:D this made my day as i got a 50 count world coin mystery bag from amazon in it i got a 10p coin in it along with a few other British coins i couldn't be happier also seeing that you still need 2000 dated coins make me happy i have quite a few 2000 quarters that i can part with as i have been doing my own coin hunts for the state quarters i need
