Hello Uptown, I want to tell you something and think you should know that. Last year was a sad year for me, not only because of Corona, but because a couple of friends one after another decided to leave me because they felt overwhelmed with me and my illness. But as luck would have it, I discovered RU-vid trough my favorite series Miraculous and liked you straight away. I also saw your video how you got to know each other and you said "Communication is the most importent thing in every relationship" and you are absolutely right and I felt understood by the sentence. Unfortunately, my friends didn't want to talk to me anymore and I miss them very much. But life goes on and as Master Fu from Miraculous says: "even if life does not give you what you hoped for, the real gift is life itself." (Here also a small thank you to Thomas Astruc, whoever came up with this sentence!) In any case, I find consolation in this sentence and in what you do. I like you, your cosplays and your videos and that you have an open heart for everyone and I just wanted to say thank you for that. And if I could and had the chance to meet you to thank you personally (and Corona didn't exist either, which doesn't make things difficult) then I would do it because you make not only me happy but all your fans. You are a really great person. That's what I wanted to say and, last but least, I like your new Video with Momma Sammu ^_^
This video was really informative and inspiring, especially for a newer ish) cosplayer like myself. It's also interesting to get and understanding of what goes behind a cosplay and it makes me excited for when the world stops ending and we can go to cons again. You are huge inspiration to me Uptown! Good work and much love to you and Momma Sammu!
your AMA makes me think of a "back stage AU", like the actress behind Marinette and the actor behind Adrien were just there, speaking to their fans, dressed differently from their on-stage costumes, but still looking like their character :)
I missed you Uptown and I got so excited seeing you as Adrian. I hope we can see Chat Noir soon but you probably ran outta cheese and Plagg fell out with you 😂
@@UptownCosplay I'm so so happy you replied to my comment. You inspire my Draco cosplay. Majority of it was store bought but it was so much fun being Draco at my work Halloween party last year. I couldn't stay in character tho because I'm such a giggly person. Can't wait for the Chat to be outta the bag haha
Uptown cosplay, I really love the that person, the videos have been a huge inpiration for me, I became a cospalyer about 7-8 years ago, but it didn't mean anythign before I cosplayed Elsa. I never knew how much people loved her, peole came up to me and asked for pictuers and asked how much it cost and i said I didn't do it for money, I did it for fun, it was so great and I have Uptown cosplay to thank for a huge par tof it
I really enjoyed this video! ❤ and I feel like I can relate to a lot of what you and Mamma Sammu had to say. Lots of laughs. Definitely made my day seeing Uptown and hearing funny stories because today was my friend's birthday that had passed away 4 months ago. Question? is that the same wig you used for chat noir or is it different wig?
I’m glad this video was able to give you some smiles ❤️ Stay strong! To answer your question, not quite! My Chat Noir wig is a separate wig, it’s an Arda Wigs “Jaguar” in Fairy Blond (which I desperately need to redo soon). My Adrien wig is an Arda “Caine”, same color and similar style, but it is a separate wig since their hair is styled differently!
I loved this! I always love hearing about cosplay! Please ignore the rest of this comment where I spiral downwards into listing many couples that I think could be used for a sapphic performance. I just kept going without meaning to. Oh I would love to see which sapphic couple y'all come up with...Bubbline is an idea...or maybe a Steven Universe couple...or Harley & Ivy...Catradora is cute idea of course though could be an issue of skintone for some so maybe not...Haruka & Michiru are an iconic couple of course...or (if you like Doctor Who you could try) Vestra & Jenny...Vaggie & Charlie from Hazbin Hotel could be cute, but not too much is known about them... Oh sorry I'll stop now.
Well... If there's going to be a convention after the Covid-19 restriction here in Germany again, I'll definitely go there. But I think it's so hard to think of a cosplay that fits your personality. I'm still figuring out which is mine. xD Anyways, I love your videos Uptown and it's a good way to improve my English as well. Please keep doing videos about cosplaying :D
Don't worry, it actually wasn't live! Momma Sammu and I recorded this on our own and then gave the footage to the Discord server this was filmed for, so it was pre-done. You didn't miss anything, but I'm glad you're here to watch it now!
Can I ask you something? I've been wondering about a cosplay idea for New York Comic Con if it takes place online, and I wanted your opinion, Uptown... If New York Comic Con takes place online again, should I cosplay as the Ghost Rider? I intend to go as the Johnathon Blaze version of the Ghost Rider. Btw, I don't remember specific cosplay types that are allowed at NYCC.
I’m a little late to the party but I’m hoping I can still ask you a question. I have a friend who is looking for a binder, they’ve tried a couple but neither suited them. They’re not looking for one for cosplays but more for day to day, prolonged use so do you have any recommendations on good binders that they could wear daily?
Overall, my top recommendation for chest binders is GC2B! They're extremely well designed and good quality and last a very long time, so they're a great investment! If you get the correct size (their sizing chart is pretty reliable) they're quite comfortable, and they have a few different styles and colors to choose from. If your friend is questioning what size to get, they can also email GC2B's customer service and ask for their recommendation based on their measurements!
