idk she wasnt going to take anything for herself the rich men gave to carrie she was suggesting this "lifestyle" to her and would introduce her - since carrie led a lifestyle she clearly and embarressingly couldnt afford and was drawn to rich men anyway (big; petrowski) - not that i condone sleeping with men and merely being their pretty&thin "plus one" in their life in exchange for "material goods" but i think amalia wasnt too far off suggesting it
@@emptycarousels3950 But she's informing (prejudicing) the show's viewers of Amalita's candidacy for the Eurotrash label. Saying "(but) I thought she was fun" is a far cry from arguing the label is unfair or mean.
@@hd-xc2lz Amalita was attaching herself to men for a living. I also don’t think she’s trash for it; but a lot of would. Ppl judge women very harshly for relying on men for money; but this is still a man’s world, and though there are a lot,ore job opportunities for women then there used to be, it’s still harder for us to make a living than it is for a man - let alone make as much as they do. It’s not for me, though as far as I’m concerned Amalita using her looks for cash is her prerogative, and smart. 🤷🏻♀️
I had a friend like Amalita, my close friends hated her because they said she was a gold digger. But they were just jealous of her joyful lifestyle. She had the biggest heart and we didn’t stay in contact but whenever I needed her she was there. Sometimes we wouldn’t talk for months or years and when I bumped into her it was like we’ve been in contact the whole time.
How is she selfish? Because she graciously accepted a gift after saying that she couldn't accept it the first time? And 7 people agreed with you. How strange. Someone gives you a gift you take it. Otherwise you are insulting the person. I mean, really.
@Witch's Brew Views She didn't pimp her out. Carrie slept with her international friend because she wanted to. The guy just assumed that Carrie was expecting money for their time spent together. Even though Carrie acted horrified that she was paid, that didn't stop her from inviting her friends over to eat breakfast at the hotel with her and charge it to his room!
She hugged her and was smiling and graciously accepted. She even tried to decline the first time, so obviously she was grateful. You're being a weird stickler.
because she had two minutes for that conversation and was told to act that way. OMG why don´t they close the comment section? how stupid things the people say, if you don´t like the main character, don´t watch the show
That’s how I would introduce my friends to my new boo, “Wave, DARLING, WAVE!!”... love Amalita! She living her best life unapologetically! I feel like Carrie was waayyy too up tight and critical about her!
Imagine a life where you sleep with slimy men for money and being a madam by setting your friend with a married man ... I would take that honest ramen any day over that
I liked the comments made directly to the camera. I also really doubt that they were copying it from Ferris Bueller's Day Off. Totally different projects.
Maybe she saw him in that movie and fell in love with him. Then she used that Bueller movie as inspiration to be incorporated into the show once she became the executive producer.
Carole Davis gives a scene stealing performance as Amalita. So fun. I just realised she isn't actually Italian when I spotted her as Roxie in Mannequin (also featuring Kim Cattrall).
Ugly Gaga because Italy and Spain are really close so the people look very alike and therefore similar to latinas (who have a lot of ancestry from Spain) l
If this woman - from a luxurious destination to another, dating handsome, worldly and wealthy men, and buying fancy gifts for everyone - is "eurotrash", what does that make having your friend to sell her ring and another dip into her savings, so you don't end up homeless as a result of your shoe addiction? Dear Carrie, please get a reality check.
if you listen carefully, Carrie says that most people say Amalita is Euro trash but she (Carrie) thinks she's fun. Listen again. So Carrie did NOT call her Euro trash
She didn't call her "Eurotrash' she said that most "most people would call her Eurotrash' but SHE, Carrie thought she was "fun".... And if you understood Italian she was saying "go go! And let's chat later"
This is what made SATC. Carrie had financial issues even though she loved fashion. Is it responsible? No. Is it relatable? Yes. Flash forward to the movies where she has butlers, flys first class to the UAE, fights with Big over their two Manhattan properties, is in Vogue and has a designer closet a billionaire would envy. It's such a shame it became so absorbed with the materialistic and superficial side of things. It's where the movies lost their way.
I'm not sure any of your comments about the movie is accurate. They received that special treatment in Abu Dhabi because of Samantha's PR connection; Big is rich so Carrie doesn't really need to sell her apartment; she was featured in Vogue because she's a contributor to the magazine and is marrying Big who is a very rich guy in NYC; And her closet is Carrie's lifetime investment.
Nothing about Carrie's life in Manhattan was relatable. Poor people in NY live in one room with 5 people and share a kitchen with 100 people. She had the lifestyle of a multi-millionaire.
I feel the reason why the four main characters bashed on Amelita was because she did not have a "Career" and she was a "sugar baby." At the end of the day, the iconic foursome was just as sexually liberated as Amelita.
Most People don’t understand Amalita fixed Carrie with a a wealthy person for money. It speaks a lot. If we remember she even called her after that May be to fix her somewhere else. Now that’s not what friendship is!
Hilarious that everybody tells Carrie how pretty she is and she rarely gives compliments. I love the show but I would’ve kicked a Carrie out of my clique
I still remember my first American Express Platinum that I finally could afford when I turned 25 (looked almost the same as Amalita's). I keep the first one up to today. I felt such a grown up and felt like ''i've made it''. haha Good memories from 12 years ago...
Carry is such a shady person. Only using people but never returning favours and always criticising. When Miranda and Auden got the ring she wasn’t happy When Aiden got her laptop she wasn’t happy When mr big got an expensive bag she was not happy When aiden bought the apartment and she broke up she was shocked that she has to pay for the apartment She took money from big Then forced Charlotte to trade her wedding ring, even then she was divorced but marriage was an important part of her life. She asked big to marry her to have ownership of the penthouse. Only time she gave someone a gift I recall is Burger, a shirt with her advance payment for her book, when he was not getting a publisher because of his previous flop book. This person is an embarrassment to the women kind.
The Swan clutch right? It was cute but she thought it was ugly, when did she take money from big tho? Don't remember that, also, yeah, she was pretty much forcing Charlotte to give her money, what a dick move
A few seasons later with Berger Carrie says she doesn't wear furry shoes. Then buys a peachy pink pair almost exactly the same as the ones in this episode.
This scene made me fall in love with fashion! I was around 12 when I saw this! My first luxury purchase was Dolce and Gabbana cologne, next a D&G hat, next Dolce and Gabbana sunnies and this is how my collection started!
I hate the writers never developed the storyline for this relationship. Her friend, though shallow, appeared fun. Her take on BIG would have been hilarious! 🤣
I need such friends from all over the world......i want them to be present at Designer stores.....Apple Store...Expensive Restaurant s....5-7 star Hotels...Car showrooms.....Real Estate Companies....🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@musicaltheatergeek79 she was living beyond her means, but carrie is actually pretty succesful in her own right, being a well-known writer/minor celebrity, it is possible that her column was not her only work (she wrote other things as freelance, and of course the books later on)
