❄️ These Sparkling Snowball Bath Truffles are perfect for holiday gifts! The combination of sodium bicarbonate and citric acid create a gentle fizzing reaction. The addition of SLSA creates bubbles, while cocoa butter and shea butter add moisture. The truffles are scented with Silver Sparkle Fragrance Oil, which gives them a creamy scent that's suitable for the holidays and beyond.
Once the ingredients are combined and the blue and white colors are layered, an ice cream scoop creates the cute shape. Snowflake Sparkle Mica is sprinkled on top for the perfect finishing touch.
The bath truffles need about 3-4 days to dry and harden before use. We recommend filling your bathtub about 3/4 of the way, then breaking the truffle up under the faucet to activate the most bubbles. Because of the skin-loving butters in this recipe, the bubbles are dense, creamy, and moisturizing. Thanks to the polysorbate 80, we found the micas blend with the water and leave very little color on the tub.
SAFETY NOTE: A mask is recommended when using SLSA, especially if you're unfamiliar with how to work with it or have respiratory concerns.
The recipe makes about 18 truffles, depending on the size of your scoop. That means you have plenty to give to loved ones! We like to package them in small plastic bags or jars so they stay intact.

I 100% wear a mask when using SLSA. No matter how careful you are, it gets into the air and it definitely effects me. I first thought it would be fine and didn't wear a mask, I coughed for hours afterwards. Definitely recommend a mask!

I make these bath truffles in all different scents all the time for gifts for my colleagues. They are a big hit. I just use fractionated coconut oil instead of the extract and whatever scent I want. I tend to use unrefined cocoa butter so I try to use scents that go well with the chocolate smell. So easy and they make the best bubbles.

Can essential oil be used instead of the fragrance oil?

Yes, you can use essential oils. We would also recommend you read our article on choosing between essential oils and fragrance oils: www.brambleberry.com/articles/ingredient-information/art0017-essential-oils-vs-fragrance-oils.html

Are these supposed to dry hard like a bath bomb or will they remain squishy after letting sit dry for 24hrs+ ?

Can you use coconut oil instead of cocoa butter?

No coconut oil doesnt get hard like cocoa butter. They would never harden. Plus the texture would end up all wrong. Also coconut oil melts to easy compared to cocoa butter.

Looks like an expensive recipe. Do you know the cost break down per bath truffle?
@kellyw.1779
@kellyw.1779 3 года назад
I was thinking the same thing about the total cost of the recipe itself. She used 15 ounces of SLSA and they charge $25.85 for 28 ounces. The SLSA alone is $13.85. It is a fairly large batch but the price of the SLSA still makes me say...Ouch! Lol Cutting back the SLSA to at least half would still make a lot of bubbles from one scoop. : )

@@kellyw.1779 plus you add in everything else. Very expensive to make. How much could you sell them for to make a profit?

I did a breakdown on the cost. If you purchase their kit at $85.00 you will make about 18 truffles. Each truffle will cost $4.70 to make. However, you will have a lot of some ingredients left over. I also did a "per ounce" breakdown and that came out to $2.74 each to make.
