#AmandlaStenberg #TheAcolyte #StarWars A former Padawan reunites with her Jedi Master to investigate a series of crimes but discovers the forces they confront are more sinister than they ever anticipated.
I have seen a pretty great deal of legitimate criticism out there. Yes there is a large amount of backlash to the obviously polarizing nature of this creation, but the majority of what I see speaks to the overall quality of the show, especially that of the writing and the plotting. Amanda speaks about the fact that she had a lot of time to prepare for the backlash as it was expected due to the nature of this show. She speaks about how she writes off the negativity surrounding this work as part of "a very particular set of the fandom". In her mind she is literally suppressing criticism and writing it off as a vocal minority. Finally she speaks about how she allows herself to feel all her negative feelings as suppressing them leads to the dark side. Is anyone else seeing the irony here? In Amanda's own words, "If you don't allow trauma to move through and out of and hold onto it and suppress it, that's the path to the dark side." It would be healthy to start actively engaging with the people that are decrying your show. If you wish to flourish and find a place in people's heart's you must acknowledge your shortcomings.
Right?! It's almost as if two things can be true at once HAHA! both Hayden and Amandla were criticized for their roles but for different reasons. Amandla has specifically been targeted due to her race. Crazy, right Scotty?! HA HA HA
Forget the small portion of people hating because of the diversity & LGBTQ. Most Star Wars fans are just sick and over the crappy writing. It’s mostly that.
