i would think the plane is garbage after that. pushing an airframe to the limit like that normally need to have the whole plane re-certified.
@andreachinaglia5804
@andreachinaglia5804 Год назад
@@Francois_Dupont it is a glider built for aerobatics, not a regular one designed for cross country. Probably it is a MDM MDM-1 Fox as it is a 2 seater, its g limits are +9.0/-6.0 (one occupant), +7.0/-5.0 (two occupants), much higher then the ones of a regular one. Aerobatic gliders have an accelerometer that signals if the g limit has been exceeded, which is not the case in a normal aerobatic routine, no need to have the plane recertified every time you perform aerobatics. 😉

Having been reading instructions on managing an incipient spin/stall etc for novices, and not detracting from the immense skill here, is the pilot’s skill basically an intimate feel for the plane’s attitude and effect on his controls, then applying these those rules, or something even more advanced….and if so what else? Thank you to anyone who can help.

@josephinebennington7247
@josephinebennington7247 2 года назад
@@lucbrunner1331 You think? Hmmmm. I was hoping for someone that knows. The pilots don’t seem to be studying a diagram as they whirl about the sky.
@weatheranddarkness
@weatheranddarkness Год назад
@@josephinebennington7247 That's a terrible way to fly deep into a stall. You need to feel the loads on both sides of all of your surfaces and integrate that with the g forces on your body. Planes like this also have 1- a lot more control authority than average (bigger control surfaces with more deflection available) 2- a huge amount of reserve lift available. Your average, non aerobatic aircraft has its primary lift surface vertically offset from its CoG, which adds off-axis forces when you're in a stall, making recapture more awkward and potentially unintuitive.
@josephinebennington7247
@josephinebennington7247 Год назад
@@weatheranddarkness What do you mean by a terrible way to fly deep into a stall? Me or the pilot in the vid? I’m not a pilot. I’m trying to understand.
@weatheranddarkness
@weatheranddarkness Год назад
@@josephinebennington7247 I mean that attempting to fly into, through, and then out of a stall would not be something you could really do 'by the book' so to speak, you have to have a feel for it, and for good controlled behaviour like in the video you need a plane designed such that it has a good amount of its surface area that can change shape allowing some measure of actual influence over the plane's movement even when you're at very low speeds or when the airflow is not moving across the airframe in the usual direction.
