I bought Thriller the year it was released, I’m old indeed, and sang along with and listened and danced to it many times. It took this stripped down, slowed down version for me to really hear the story and the lyrics. Michaels original makes me want to dance, Angelina’s version makes me want to relax, drink a beer, watch the sunset and bob my head to it. She sang this song to Jonathan Sugarfoot Moffet, Michaels drummer, and he loved it and said she was channeling Michael. It’s so beautiful!

This version of AJ tribute to MJ is super super listenable because her way of timing the lyrics translates directly from vocal soul.
