Enjoy a walkaround and flyover of the incredible Azeville batterie in Normandy and discover the amazing story behind the unexploded US battleship shell which took out one of the huge gun bunkers just after D-Day.
In this video we take you all over the batterie to show you the underground tunnels, inside the casemates, and drone views of this extensive site behind Utah Beach.
You'll also get to see some of the most bizarre camouflage used to hide the huge bunkers from Allied attacks!

Incredible place, that shell coming in must of been a frightening experience! Makes you wonder how the allies ever made it through the Atlantic Wall with so many concrete structures to overcome. Sad time for all sides, great video/chanel as always. 🙏🇬🇧

As an aside, or ps, The four at Longues Sur Mer certainly WERE linked by an underground tunnel, with rails, if I remember correctly, from original visit in 72, then, later, in 82. A later trip to showed they'd filled the connecter route in.

The engineering is impressive to say the least! But, the slave labor to build these massive bunkers must have been brutal. Tha Allies must have caught pure HELL getting inland. I thank every last one of the service man and women for their sacrifices!

I can’t imagine having to clear those tunnels, trenches, and rooms. What a nightmare.

Hi guys, I'm planning a trip over in the next year or so and will have a couple of young children with me. Could you recommend anywhere that would be suitable to stay to provide access to the sites but also have stuff for them to do? Also, can you advise the time/date of these videos? There doesn't seem to be the hordes of tourists I thought there would be? The irony of a tourist trying to avoid tourists isn't lost on me😂😂😂. Superb channel. This is history.

Bayeux is a great location to base yourself. This was filmed in early evening in October. Avoid June in Normandy, it’s chaos!

Well well. First came across Crisbeq, and later Azeville bunkered areas in 82 with me and pal on mbikes. Later, 96ish returned to, finding both being lightly polished but never knew bout connecting tunnels under each. Last view was 99. Clearly preservation work is enplaced and ongoing. Since last visit haven't they discovered and cleared out some main area bunker Command structure down towards rear of Grandcamps Maisy?
