If she had a husky, she wouldn't teach those crazy puppers to complain. This good boy is so disciplined and so smart. He's a doggo role-model. I wish you two many wonderful and exciting years together.
Everything he does is eager and gentle! He’s amazing! So excited to team with his human for the joy of the job, not for treats by bribery! Those who ‘taste & treat train’ are not really doing the dog or themselves a favour, they confuse the whole purpose of teamwork.
My cat does sit and high five but only for treats , my aunts cats are amazing last time I saw them she had them rolling over and jumpin g though a hoop
He loves doing these commands. Maybe it started w/ treats, but these are working dogs. You can tell he just loves this. Working dogs are happiest when working and having tasks. They are miserable when bored.
This is the blessing and curse of herding dogs! They are like velcro, always want to be where you are... always. 😄 They can go off a bit mentally when you have to be gone. If they have enough stimulation regularly it's not bad for short times apart (an afternoon), but being gone several days can make them a bit neurotic when you come back! I have a GSD/Heeler/Chow mix. She tells me everyday she knows who butters her bread! 😍 She's always a few steps ahead of me knowing what I'm going to do, so I have to be on my toes! I will say though, it's going to be hell the day she departs this world! She's 12 now, so only a few more years left with her. ☹️

Working dogs like Collies and Shepherds are a give and take. They can be very needy and demand a lot of your time and energy, but they give all of that back and more.
Border Collies are amazing, because they don’t do it for food, they do it because they genuinely want to please you. When I was training mine, I had him do the shake command, but nowadays he asks for his paw in your hand because he likes holding hands, or rather paws. It’s comforting for him. Love you Kelso.
They’re smart dogs and can easily learn to associate tricks with praise. Which is nice as my dog has learned to give me high fives. She does it on command treat or no treat and now whenever she does something good I give her a high five 😂
And that right there shows exactly why they're the best breed on the planet. They live to please you. They're loyal, obedient, loving, caring and outstanding athletes that just amaze you every day. Also bringing them for a walk is an absolute pleasure. No leash is ever needed no matter where you are. Now all of that is assuming you've trained them properly.. I've had Collies since 1998 and I'll have them until either I can't walk them anymore or I'm dead. As you can probably tell I just absolutely adore them so much.
They're really fast learners. Have you figured out how to handle her yet? I have a 14 year old Collie who is still chasing rabbits and basically anything else that moves lol. She can still learn new things in a very short space of time. So intelligent it's scary at times.
This is not normally the kind of video that you cry at. But I lost my border Collie a little over 3 years ago and I miss him every single day. He was the smartest most intelligent dog I have ever known and I worked as a vet technician for most of my life so I have seen a lot of dogs I'm only sorry I don't have him now when they're doing all that testing about dogs talking with buttons and knowing what you're saying. Your dog is so beautiful and so intelligent
Sorry for your loss. I lost my Cheweenie after 20 LOVING years. She was a total clown & loved dress up. Her name was Buckaroo Whippersnapper, we called her Buck.
I understand your pain so sorry for your loss I had to put my Beautiful princess down after she had a stroke in January I had her since she was 7 weeks old she was just shy of her 15 th birthday busted my heart the hardest thing I ever had to do I cry every day missing her great great dog she was a Beautiful beagle my ❤ my soul RIP my Beautiful Princess daddy loves you forever
This shows not just the intelligence, intensity & complexity of border collies' communication adaptivity, but their need to do a job. And the PERFECT job is HERDING. It is amazing how man & dog have formed a lasting bond through the ages.🐕
Owned a Border years ago-smartest dog I have ever known.He could problem solve like a human.The only issue with owning a Border is they need constant work-they get bored easily and that’s when the trouble begins,they will get into mischief.But they do posses a lovely temperament.
He is so smart and beautiful what a good boy. If I ever end up purchasing property that needs maintenance outside I will be sure to get a border collie. These dogs require stimulation and tasks what an amazing breed
My favourite dogs in the whole world. Never owned one.. only had labradors, but collies.. man, there’s something so beautiful about them. Incredibly intelligent dogs. As a disabled individual I’ve considered getting one in my future, & having help to train them to be a disability dog. Thank you for showing this gorgeous pup! X
No more beautiful sight than a dog owner who has shown the love and dedication to teach their dog some obedience. I can't stand people who get a dog, don't do the work of obedience training, then try to convince me their dog is just "excited". 🙄 Well done, miss. 😌 Also, who's a good doggie? Who's a good doggie?
