The best part is the children in the woods it brings back when I was young with my Dad, thank you so much. Remember safety is number one on your homestead.

This brings back so many memories. My family used to log like this in the mountains of New Hampshire. Even as little children we would all have specific jobs assigned to each of us. Between all my uncles, grandfather and cousins, we would have to process thirty plus cords of firewood for three households per year. Hard work, but some of the best times of my life. At the end of the day my grandmother and aunts would have a massive meal ready for some twenty five plus people. The conversations still ring in my mind.Thank You for taking me back home again.

I really like your setup here, I did notice by the lights on the Honda that the electrical draw was pretty high. If you added a deep cycle battery to the trailer, and kept the current electrical connection. The heavy load while winching would draw on the larger battery, and the Honda would keep topping it up. Removing a lot of strain on the very small battery in the quad.
@simeonandalex
@simeonandalex 7 лет назад
You got a point there. I was winching the Quad with a 1.300 kg trailer up a snowy slope and it died on me a couple times because the battery was too drained. Barely got it started again. I think we will consider something like you mentioned.

Another well made video, thank you. I am most impressed by the strength of the trailer. It appears to be made of thin walled tubing but must be a very high tensile strength to take the loads that it does. Knowing that it has been in service for many years already is another indicator that it is very well constructed. Great to see many generations working/playing together.

I have noticed that most of your equipment is made in Sweden. Is the trailer also from Sweden and who is the manufacture ? I have thought of using a trailer and quad as your family does but my local ground is much steeper and the wood , maybe, a little too big for such a unit. Or so I'd thought. I cut my pieces to as close to 1100 lbs (500 kg) as I can for using a helicopter to move it. But often I leave lesser valued wood behind due to the high cost of removal, having a capable trailer such as this might make sense for me. Any info is appreciated. Thank you. Cheers from Canada's west coast.

Your brother, however, who always seems so serious, reminds me of Vincent VanGogh's self portrait (but with more ears). ;-) The scene near the beginning with the quad traveling over snow-dusted terrain with Caribbean music, reminds me of the Jamaican bobsled team in reverse.
