Inside of the Kruisherenhotel is a huge Dutch breakfast buffet being served every morning. Today we are going on a tour of the Dutch breakfast and we are going to try all the food. I found some of the typical Dutch things we have been seeing during my tour of the Netherlands but I also discovered something completely new and exciting. This Dutch pancake was easily the best pancake I ever had as well as one of the tastiest things I ever had. Hope you guys are packing an appetite because you are about to get hungry.

Best way to go to heaven, or at least come close to it: a pancake with bacon and (goat)cheese. I usually make it with Dutch style pancake, bacon and brie but that just looked delicious. Happy holidays and best wishes for the new year!

My honest recommendation would be that you should also try some more unusual (Gouda style) Dutch cheeses, such as kruidnagelkaas (it's a Gouda style cheese with whole cloves (the spice) in it) and also komijnekaas, same style also, but with cumin seeds in the cheese. Also: Try some other Dutch cheeses that are similar in style, but quite different in taste, these are for example Edammer (from Edam) and Gouda (from Gouda) (The gouda one you probably already know, the Edammer you probably don't know yet.) It would also be nice to try them side by side. Here are a few more example: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Dutch_cheeses By the way, this is a terribly short list, it should be at least more than 10 times bigger, but i guess it's a start. :)

Sjevroaje cheese is biological goat cheese from the region (Eijsden), that's probably what was on the pancakes aswell. :) If you want more information on it, look up "Stassen Kaas" or www.sjevraoje.com/.
