Maelstrom Products have kindly provided me with a new SIB to use, a 3.8 metre aluminium deck. This boat gives me the ability to take on grander adventures and reach previously inaccessible fishing grounds.
I took advantage of the perfect sea conditions to steam 9 miles out to a favourite local reef of mine that I haven’t visited in some years. After a 40 minute ride cruising @ 18 knots I was straight into fish on the lures.
I was extremely fortunate to encounter a ginormous pod of dolphins and play with them for a while. They showed a lot of interest in the boat and myself, I don’t usually get excited about dolphins as they aren’t uncommon around the coast of Cornwall but never have I seen them in these numbers.
