Looks to me like they ALL wear black hats and MOST have beards..lol! One question about these orthodox Jews..: where are the females and when do they ever show up dancing..? Oh..i forgot that Jews and Arabs have the same views about women...being second class citizens.. !! Better kept in the kitchen with a nightly detour to the bedroom...lol.! To see and meet free and educated Jewish ladies you need to go to Israel....where many atheist Jews have thrown out all that rabbinical hocus-pocus..!
What?...What are you guys talkng about? They ALL have BLACK hats,BLACK beards and so forth! You couldn't possibly tell one from the other.Where is this...Boro Park...Brooklyn? It's not Salsa! Haha,!
@1994antmfan I'm not Ortho, never mind Chassidic, but I have Ortho relatives and family friends. If you ever get an opportunity to go to an Ortho wedding, take it! It's a blast. There's also a tradition of everyone gathering in front of the entrance to the reception hall to great the bride and groom with noise makers, confetti, etc. My sister and I organised this kind of entrance for a Reform cousin's wedding. Something easy to do and soooo much fun!
I have asked this question before but not got the right answer l was looking for . Is there any significance in the different sizes of hats the the gentleman are wearing or is hit there own choice of hats .
can anyone tell me what differentiates these guys? who are the ones with the fur hat and the white socks? what differentiates them from the others with the black bowler hat and black trousers?
@CaliforniaBudtender Traditional Jewish tradition/law states that men and women do not dance with each other so at weddings there is a female side and a male side
Dance and rejoice, my brothers, without worrying. Hashem first, we've got plenty of fire power this time. As to some comments, let donkeys bray, this is what donkeys do.
My DNA says I'm not Jewish, but I have a lot of Jewish surnames in my family tree. Don't understand that, but I understand this dancing with joy. They are giving thanks to and praising HaShem with everything that they have. This is a very joyful thing to do. I also dance to give thanks and to praise HaShem every chance I get in my home. Shalom! :)
"One of the most important techniques of body MEDITATION involves dancing. This is especially true among the Hasidic schools, where even after other meditative methods were abandoned, dance was still used as a means of attaining ecstasy and enlightenment. This however, was not Hasidic innovation, since even in most ancient times dance was an important method for attaining enlightenment." - from the book MEDITATION and KABBALAH, by Aryeh Kaplan
Dancing frees the body..it is a physical exercize like climbing mountains. All the muscles of the body are working, and concentrating on the music as well. That is the same kind of spiritual and physical union ghat we can find in pairs of couples who are deeply in Love with each other. Their bodies move to the natural music coming from their hearts and souls

Why do they wear different hats? Is is symbolic? And what are they called? In this order please. The Skull Cap, the cowboy looking hat and the round one. Thanks and all the best from London, UK.
The fuzzy ones represent that the man is married. It was issued to Jews in Europe as a disgrace that they were marked to wear, now they use it as a sign they overcame the oppressors. The skull cap, (Kippah) is from the Torah where were commanded to cover the head while praying. The pray shawl is wildly used for this as well. The all black to signify mourning the temple that was destroyed as they wait to rebuild. Shalom !
@alpidistra there's no ritual or spiritual meaning to the dances themselves. However, on their wedding day the bride and groom are considered to be a queen and king and it is the responsibility for the wedding guests to make the couple smile and laugh as much as possible. To do this there is a lot of dancing and singing, the women are in a separate section dancing with the bride in the same way.
People! Do NOT pay any attention on those with negative comments!! Do NOT waste you precious time. Your lifetime is given to you to grow , not to DEGRADE!!!!!
@Lucanking thank you lucanking!!! i just feel like makeing my point in a nice way. and i appreciate you not being mean or saying anything nasty. it shows yur also an intelligent person.:)
Online videos from Israel, Middle East & Jewish World Looks like the Synagogue of Satan practising for strictly come dancing. Or is it the Whore of Babylon. or is the Khazarian fake Jews?
What religious significance do these dances have? Do they have any religious or ritualistic meaning or are they simply cultural tradition for celebration purposes? Dance does play an important role in many religious practices such as dervish or Sufi ceremonies. Do these Jewish dances have similar meaning?
Nie chce tu żadnych tradycji krytykować ale proszę mi wytłumaczyć gdzie dla mężczyzny jest przyjemność gdy tańczy z innym mężczyzną Mnie się to wydaje takie trochę zboczone
