Naomi Whittel Hello Naomi ever been in Mexico ?? I would love for you to review our plants and fruits that are very unique for us!! Let me know ! Love to host you here and hear your perspective on them, since we have an amazing variety of all it!!🙏 By the way thanks for sharing your work
Had my metabolic age tested on a machine that recently appeared in the gym i use,i'm 52 and got a reading back of 67 years old(shocked),been exercising for 30 years, pushing weights, cross trainers, hours upon hours, moderate life style,i dont over do anything to access, anybody i grew up with of the same age looks older or is dead,so i Googled metabolic age and this young chap appeared,i think i'l try any of his suggestions(that i can afford)and hopefully live to see my kids reach adulthood(had them late),this guy talks so much sense,i'v spent hours lifting weights and days feeling soar and stiff recovering, and for what, metabolic age of my father(almost),if you think about it,we are all obsessed with looking good and we dont really know what its were doing to our bodies in the long term, time to bio hack, many thanks young man and keep up the good work,....p.s. had my first cold shower this morning, lasted 59 second,i must be a whimp!
There's no way you're physiologically 67. I wouldn't count on metabolic age. The Horvath clock, which measures epigenetic changes, is apparently much more accurate.
Love you both, positively insane the amount of knowledge I’ve gleaned from you two. The lighting you are using for the video is crazy, the catch light in both your eyes is ridiculous!
I could never take on all these details as a lifestyle. However, I can do a few things like cutting out white sugar and white flour. Also I have insomnia and watching this on my bright computer at 4:30 am. Ug.
WOW. You both look so wonderful and young. When I first saw you I thought..."this must be an old interview" and low and behold it was published today!!! Thank you for all you do and teach and share!!
Sharon, you are so kind.. I had a full 7.5 hours of sleep the night before. Ben in the other hand stayed up very late and work up looking like this! Not fair;)
Great interview, the concepts that we hear so much about- were so clearly articulated. I admire you both so much! And I'm super excited to get to workout with Ben at Paleo f(x) this Friday! Naomi- have you considered speaking at that event in Austin, TX?
Can I use red LEDs from amazon to have the red light benefits many biohacker use? Of course it might not be that effective like a thousand dollar red light chamber but it might be a good start?
Yes, you can. But not any red light is effective. Look for the one with near wavelengths. I made my research and found Beurer the best and with an accessible price in Europe.
I've never seen Ben appear so humble, it's like his ego is gone compared to his normal interviews. Maybe Naomi brought out his softer side lol, great stuf
You look so beautiful Naomi- Just bought your book Glow15 which is so informative thank you- Ben is so knowledgable and you both should come to England - thanks
Wondering how these strategies should be implemented for shift workers? I work 8p-8a as a home health nurse and usually go to sleep at 830a when I get home. I have no problem going to sleep or staying up at night. I have been Keto since February 11th and usually get about 6-7 hours of sleep. Also I am 42 years old and initially lost 20 lbs when I started but have been at a standstill for about 45 days now. Also IF anywhere from 12 to 20 hours a day. Please help as I haven’t found a whole lot of info for night workers.
Um, the biggest problem is... sugar and refined carbs and convenience and lack of...planning diet and setting time to exercise, lack of movement..too much stress...poor sleep..repeat. True though, everyone has a different makeup and glycemic response. Take control of your hormones. That is the key. And limit Chik fil A and Ben & Jerrys. Itz what u dont do that is the key. Lol
"It's not as easy as we could think." If we are stalking about fat łosoś, well yes it is that easy, in big majority of cases. I respect Ben as I share mamy of views with him, but he is talking about mainly about biohacking and also about professional athletes. If we talk about average Joe then there is no magic. Society didn't have to do anything special to got obesity.
Hey! Let me answer you question :) For cooking the best sources would be saturated fats, they are the most stable under high temperature, butter is great. Coconut oil is great as well, if you like the taste. If you cook/fry with olive oil which is mostly mono-unsaturated, then cook with it for longer at lower temperature, to not destroy it. Use as little oil for cooking as needed, do not eat fried oil. Add oils later on food if you like. You can also use water for cooking... And avoid using poly-unsaturated oils for cooking - sunflower, canola... do not use them for anything actually :) Does this help?
Thanks for watching Phil! We love avocado oil. It's a wonderful high-quality fat to use for cooking. Other great options for cooking oil are tea seed oil and coconut oil. ~ Naomi's Care Team
Did you even listen to what he said? He said it takes 6 months to a year for athletes who have been on a high carb diet to operate as optimally as they did before with fat as energy as opposed to carbs, which they’ve been accustomed to their entire lives. He’s not saying it takes that long to lose weight, he saying it can take that long to fully adjust to using fat as energy I.e feeling and performing the way you did before.
