In Wheel in the Sky he hits a note that isn't even human. I was a journey fan since the '80s and I never knew that sound came from him until recently. The man is a God
Open Arms or Faithfully by Journey from that same concert. Epic. He can sing. Listen to the words in Faithfully. Open Arms is probably their most popular song. Treat, he wears that same shirt. Keep on the Journey
@@BLaCkKsHeEp right...and the phone was on the wall with a curly cord and we would wrap ourselves in them while talking and the cord would be so long it could reach every room
@@skynetterminatort100 shit man i saw a video of this teenage girl trying to figure out how to dial on one of those old school telephones LMFAO man, it was hilarious
Everyone was singing “when the lights go down in the city“ at the Giants World Series game in 2010 and then the camera flashed to Steve Perry in his private box and we all freaked out! I mean freaked out… It was awesome.
@@patticrichton1135 A friend of mine called me at work in the middle of the day that day and said I got two tickets to the World Series today can you leave work and meet me there? It was amazing it just happened so fast I was not even expecting to go to the game… She knew someone at the ball park who had two bleacher seats to give away.
Everyone likes this song. One time, back in VA, I was at a goth club for some live bands playing. Between bands, this song came on and everyone, including the bartenders, was singing along. A club full of goths, singing our hearts out, to Journey.
Journey was the hardest “Touring” band of the 1980’s. 9 years non-stop but, that’s what successful rock groups did. Steve Perry is known as “The Voice”. Today’s music sucks because the Internet and Electronic age has made Artist lazy as hell. They no longer have to be hungry and fight to stay on top!
80’s....cmon now. Forget what he’s wearing, listen 🎶🎶🎶I saw this tour....unbelievable energy. Mother Father, Stone in Love....🎼🎶😎❤️ No auto tune, no click track bullshit....talent....raw talent!🤘😎go down that rabbit hole....do it now.....😂😂
Yeah cheetah shirt Tarzan hair lol it too funny (: But everyone knows Journey and there music especially this anthem FIRE of a song period (: And like you said if they don't than there ediots (: But tarzan dude Steve Perry is The Voice (: One if not The Greatest GOAT singer's or vocalists and performers ever too grace this planet and universe on a mic period (: In my opinion if Whitney is the female voice of Music (: This guy is the male answer too that period (: And the band Journey is the shit and will always be the shit (: And the same thing goes for Steve Perry he s the shit x a billion in voce perfection period (: Lol the reaction buddy (: React too Journeys sing Mother Father I think that's the name of the song live (: That whole performance great vocals but at the end is were he really gives you the golden vocals (: You will lol it (:
@@shellilawler1334 Yes. He played with them from around 78-85 I believe. When they had all their big hits. He actually came back & played with the new Journey band in 2016 for a few years but that didn't work out for some reason so he left.
@@yorkiemom6144 I wish. Steve grew up a few towns away from me in Mass when we were both younger. He then went on to college in Boston & then got into the music biz & hooked up with Journey which was lucky for him & their band.. He's still a great all around drummer including rock, jazz etc. Been awhile since I've seen him.
LOOVE Steve Perry, Journey was never the same without him, but what an amazing legacy with the band, and Randy Jackson (American Idol) became their bassist this year again after working with them back in the 80's. Steve gets a pass for his cheetah shirt, i was a kid in the 80's but i remember worse fashion choices than that back in the day lol
one of the best rock voices ever most ppl know this song very famous rock song, they have such a great catologe of songs try... Sererate Ways ...Mother Farther Sister Brother ...open Arms ... give them ago you will hear the range of his voice and they sound better live than studio too xxx
Steve Perry is better live for the most part. In Mother, Father if you listen closely he sounds like an instrument hitting those super high notes towards the end. I really thought it was an instrument the first few times until it just hit me what it was. Totally amazing and always on pitch. Just the other day a Journey song came on and after a few minutes I thought to myself, “ why is he so off key?” Not terribly but enough to make me look and then I realized it was Pineda. Nothing against him but just not the same chops. Perry’s tone is so top of the line.
check out Journey's videos separate ways, when u love a woman, faithfully, wheels in the sky, anyway u want it,open arms,i'll be alright without u,send her my love!
Yup the shirt was considered cool back then! And yes, I'm from Houston and I was at this concert! It was insane! Faithfully by Journey is badass too! And why is it when u light up, I have to join in?😁
You're really missing out if you've only heard 2 songs. By now I'm sure you've really been blown away. Journey with Steve Perry have so many amazing and iconic songs, they wrote, instantly recognizable to Journey fans. Steve's vocal range is phenomenal and soo beautiful. Listen to wheel in the sky at the end Steve comes in with Neal's guitar solo and hits high notes that will blow your mind!
I was lucky enough to see this band in 1983 I had just turned 10. I loved this band and begged my dad to take me. He hated this kind of music, but he took me. Thanks Dad, RIP. I miss you everyday.
Yes!! I am telling my age now!😜 my happiest memories were in the 80’s as a teenager and I tell you music rock and roll was all we knew!! I love it!! Keep doing what you do man!! You crack me up!! Tarzan hair... hahaha ♥️Tennessee
I'm a long time Classic Journey and Steve Perry fan! I'm more of a Steve Perry fan!!!! (And leave him alone with the shirt!!! It's AWESOME!!!....lol...) It's always nice to put a face with music that you know. Classic Journey was in their prime in 1981 for their Escape album and tour. Between 1981 through 1983, Journey was on top of the music world. This concert alone was and in my opinion will ALWAYS be the BEST concert from them!!! Steve Perry was named 'The Voice' by singer Jon Bon Jovi. And that has stayed with him all these years. The stage loves Steve Perry, but his fans love him MORE!!! Another performance you should react to from this concert is 'Mother Father'. That performance is 100% a Masterpiece!!!! From each of the members to Steve's voice!!! It really is a MUST SEE!!!
It was the '80's...my high school years. The cheetah shirt was just part of the look. This was the song back in the day. Legend has it that they're still mopping the floor and collecting soaked panties today. Hahaha....great job, man!
My 1st reaction of the day & it's my sister's favorite song & band ever! Miss you so much Kar!Thank you Mr. Video! 💯🔥🖤🎶🤘 RIP Karen Can you please react to ALTER BRIDGE "Blackbird" Live in Amsterdam 2008! Thank you my friend!
It's my guilty pleasure, watching reaction videos. Seems so uncool, kind of idiotic. BUT YOU HELPED ME FIGURE IT OUT! It's that smile on your face! Yeah everyone knows this song, of course, but music just never stops being the thread that connects us all. Perry is such a great singer. And you have such a genuine smile listening to him. Envoyez vous un bisou du Canada :)
Now they showed you all these guys voice hit up ladies...Martina McBride broken wing..Carrie Underwood How great thou art...Stevie Nicks with and without Fleetwood Mac...Evanese..Florence and the Machine...Karise Eden..Beth Hart..for fun Pistol Annies He'll on heels and Taking Pills or Hush Hush
Just saying freshman year of college 02-03 obsessed with Journey!! How did I not see this vid? Well happy now! ❤️ u and can’t wait for new Harry Potter!
My friend has done work on the lead guitarist. ," Neal Schon's " guitars for years. The late 70's - 80's. "Steve Perry " era " Singing. . my 20's started in 1980's , those were 🎶 " The Best of Time's ! " .🎶 Styx .
The cheetah shirt looks like it’s a size 2T. But those jeans! Wtf? His “Pennsylvania” is, well, you just can’t take your eyes off the damn thing! Damn.
Hun... it was the 70s! Not a decade about fashion. Hard to dress Steve Perry. Very short so his shirts were usually short t make his legs appear long. I saw them live. Remember.. this is live. He sounds perfect. Back then machines didn’t auto tune. The played the instruments and sang....live. The crowds were amazing. Sad he doesn’t sing anymore.
Dude your genuine admiration for his voice was awesome. Great reaction. For another amazing voice, and a sound prob new to you; ck out *My Chemical Romance* . Gerard Way is spectacular vocalist and a showman. Anything from *The Black Parade* album.
