My husband and I spent 11 days in Scotland and it has become a place that we revisit every day in our hearts. We love Italy and France. But Scotland evokes a lot of sentiments: mystery, sadness, joy, and awe. The beauty of Scotland lies in its landscape that feels so intimate, welcoming and intriguing at the same time. It speaks to you whenever and wherever. And not to mention, we love the people and food there. Scotland, we love you and miss you. Hope to visit soon.
one of my ancestors is Scotia, Scotland was named after her when she died in war . I'm a proud to say I love this music it makes me feel happy in every way. nice job on this video :)
Cool vid & great pics; I hope to one day to get over there, my great grandfather came from Perth, he got sent out he as a teenager, & not by choice LOL. It would be great to stay in one of the castles, ride out to Glencoe...just got to save my pennies & I hope to make it before I'm too old?! Cheers.
Wondering why my family emmigrated to Canada from such a beautiful country ,I kinda of see why Canada looks like Scotland in many aspects,The Two beatifulist countrys in the world.
I've been to Scotland twice and plan to go again in June 2012. It is my favorite place in the world. The only thing that could be better is if I lived there.
Great video and excellent photographs! Love the music -- can you let us know what/who it is? Thanks for sharing such a great video -- makes my husband miss his home !
This ignominious period in Scottish history commenced in the 1720's and continued into the nineteenth century. The year 1807 was particularly significant in the obscene and brutal removal of residents from their homes,at the behest of the Duke and Duchess of Sutherland -real name Stafford - in the disguise of progress, replacing the population with sheep. When the people resisted, their homes were burnt .
Well unfortunately for you and I piecing together pre Scotland's past is something akin to trying to piece together a 3000 piece jigsaw puzzle with two pieces. But one thing we can be sure of is that the thought of a Celtic people is ridiculous and a modern idea.
Not basque, but Asturian, by Hevia. It's played with a midi (electronic) bagpipe, created by himself. The words are also Asturian, a sample of a traditional song by Mari Luz Cristobal Caunedo.
@MrFlibble2011 It's a funny thing, the mind. Every time I happen to see one of your comments, I immediately have this vision of a small, slightly overweight, pasty-faced kid who enjoys shopping with his mum and wearing his sister's clothes. And your comments sound helium-squeaky to me ... I don't know why ..
@MrFlibble2011 Questioning why Scots comment on Scottish videos is a little odd coming from an English kid who comments on more Scottish topic videos than anyone north of Hadrian's Wall.
No I'm Scottish, and there's a romanticized view and then there's just bullshit. The so called called Celts lived in most of non Roman Europe, you don't hear any morons calling Germany and France Celtic nations simply because over one thousand years ago Celts lived in those areas. And the English have an incredibly strong culture and sense of identity any fool can see that and would not debate it.
Their is no such thing as a Celtic nation. The term Celtic was used in the 18th century to describe a group of languages morons then started using it to describe the people who came from Egypt to Spain and Ireland. A group then traveled to Scotland but where not the majority, the majority where Scandinavian settlers (vikings) Picts and Anglo-Germanic settlers. The same analysis can be made for Wales. Scotland, Ireland and Wales have very little in common and do not all belong to a "Celtic race".
