And even how the camera sways/pans in a dofferent shot lets say i.e. Harley putting bands in both sides of her hair. Felt like a comic book panel moment there as well.
It wasn’t in this video but the shot of Blackguard (Pete Davidson’s character) with the moon and all the lights from the army on the beach was incredible
@@richard6200 I was shocked that I actually cared enough about Flag this time to be legit sad when he bit it. And his death had a lot of poignancy too. Tho yea, honestly it would have been really really cool to get at least one more movie with Gunn's Flag
Last comic book movie to look this good IMO, might have been Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (also a James Gunn movie!) or Logan (directed by James Mangold). Infinity War might be a close second
@@TheTakUser Oh Vol. 2 for sure! James absolutely understands how to make comics leap from the page and right onto the screen! I haven't seen the likes of it since Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy!
I know it's kinda cliche to say this, but more than ever, this feels like a comic book brought to life. I could literally imagine some of these shots as comic panels. Love the style of this movie.
I totally agree. Spiderverse is most likely the closest we’ll come to a comic accurate movie, but Spiderverse totally had the upper hand by being animated and getting away with loads of things. This is, in my opinion, the most comic accurate live action movie
The shot of Captain Boomerang giving one last cheeky grin to Harley before he died was one of my favorites, but also RIP to Captain Boomerang and Rick Flag, the only two other than Harley and Waller that lived the miserable 2016 film
I think my favourite shot is starro holding thinker so menacing and powerful with the giant eye taking up the screen with thinker being so small and insignificant, it's also really satisfying seeing thinker get what he deserves for torturing starro for 30 years
Not joking, but I actually believe Milton was a badass. It's a shame nobody got to tell his tale. He was literally by their side all the way through. Get-away driver, explosives manipulator, arms reloader, city conmuting guide, and stealth operative. He walked side by side with some of the most dangerous persons on the planet, including a shark god, without flinching. Succesfully helped with the capture of a genius level intellect criminal, and he needed no babysitting. Rest in peace, Milton. I really mean it. Real MVP. Most valuable rebel.
@@BarcadsONE Milton is actually a fucking badass. He was even able to stall military army men until they all got fucking killed. That in my opinion, is badass. Throughout the movie, he’s constantly helping the squad, like in the dance scene when the soldiers came inside and he tried getting their attention and escorting them out
This movie is brilliant. An artistic, gruesome, dark, funny, and gorgeous breath of fresh air from all of the other Dc movies. I enjoyed this with all my heart, hopefully Gunn makes more movies, since he is better than the other directors.
I really loved those shots that had the environment spell out something. Especially that Warner bros pictures presents blood splatter. Havent seen something more creative since Zombieland 2 Columbia intro
I stand by the fact that “Hey” is my favorite scene in a CBM. Gone is the pounding score as our protagonists band together. In its place a soft rock song, slate white background. Just fucking perfect
Favorite shots: harley with the javelin and all the flowers, flag vs peacemaker in the helmet, the squad walking in the rain and king shark ripping a soldier in half
Arguably one of the better comic book comics ever made. I mean, come on, we all definitely went in expecting bronze, and we got diamond instead. It truly is an experience like no other.
I don't know about everyone else, but that one scene of bloodsport dropping floors until reaching peacemaker was perfect for me. It was hilarious, awesome and so fucking satisfying when you knew what was going to happen. 10/10
Suicide Squad's cinematography was amazing. If I could add two more shots into the video, it would be them opening the doors to Jotunheim (which is as awesome as it sounds) I like how Peacemaker violently bashes Thinker's head against the monitor and how Bloodsport and Ratcatcher pry the gates open for the whole team to go in.
2:31 a beautiful and badass shot in film along with pixies hey. Villains going off to save world. In shot that could be their final moment the movie did an excellent job of making care for these villains. Badass
they always had it. 2016 was the one time DC unequivocally messed up by tampering the BvS theatrical cut and forcing reshoots out of Suicide Squad. Then what happened with JL is its own story, but the rest of the films have been very successfull as far as I know.
What a beautiful movie! Usually, my eyes hurt when there's a CGI overload, but once in a while, a movie like The Suicide Squad comes, which deserves to be seen on the biggest fucking screen.
Unfortunately Zack has no interest in returning with the current people in charge. I do hope his next movie Rebel Moon is a success though because it sounds awesome.
@Elliepopcorn lol sorry, i didn’t mean it like that. Only a few good movies, rest of em r terrible (its just my opinion). Dc is good in Comics, shows and video games, WB really ruined DCEU.
One of best cinematic treat that this year and DC has to offer! Rarely do we see a mix of almost all genres into one movie succeed. This movie definitely nailed it! I love how the colours, CGI and cinematography all flawlessly go so well together. A real pleasure to the eyes. What an absolute edit that highlights the best moments from this flick. You want to why i like DC movie more..because all DC movie is like you watching a comic book...DC really serious of making a superhero movie,with beautifull cinematography..soundtrack...and the fight choreo is really like comic book superhero not just like typical action movie...and that become the standard from every DC movies
@@crazybabuskaman3923 same here. I don’t get why people hate it. It’s so good! And it’s better than Joker, BvS, Wonder Woman, The Dark Knight Rises and Josstuce League! Those were the DC films I’ve seen in theaters by the way. I did saw Superman Returns as a kid though.
I feel the same. I was very surprised when I was doing my ranking and this movie got the same score as The Dark Knight (of course, because of different things, but it is THAT good)
2016 Suicide Squad looked like it was filmed in toilet water, BvS thought filming everything in the dark made it cooler and the less said about JL the better. This movie was too good to be associated with the DCEU.
Well... this one joins the group of excellent films that struggle at the box office. I see it right there with Mad Max fury Road and Alita Battle Angel. Amazing films that got recognition before its release.
I was very skeptical of this film because of how bad the first one turned out. So I thought I would try watching it on HBO Max and quickly fell in love with it within the first 15 mins. So much so, I had to drag my friend to see it on the big screen. Thank you James Gunn for making a non cliche comic book movie.
