Amazing Super Mario Maker 2 Race at Summer Games Done Quick 2023 

I had a ton of fun doing this one. The teams were so evenly matched, and I thought the levels were really cool this time. We may have pushed the difficulty a bit too high this time, but I think it is better than the levels feeling too easy. Slightly easier on some of them, and it would have been a perfect race

How did Aurateur not pause and boo the levels? I find that unbelievable.

These are easily some of the most creative levels I have ever seen. Plus this race was insanely close. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time! Every single runner had insane moments throughout the race. Congrats to everyone!

50:20 was one of the biggest clutch moments from any GDQ race ever, I popped off just watching it

this race was sooo good, definitely the best one I've watched. These teams seemed like they were perfectly matched. So many great moments but that clutch play around 50:00 is my favorite so far.

Watching some places still require masks is so interesting. I've been flying all over the world the last few months and I don't think there was a requirement for a single place I visited, including the airports.

51:45 It made me so happy to see Team Perchance (with Dan and Shoujo!) clapping at the end of level 6. Panga's play was so clutch and all these players knew it, and that's the wholesome competition in this scene that I love. I am very disappointed nobody wished aurateur a happy birthday on his special day

This was so tight from top to bottom! I felt like each competitor had at least one moment of genius and at any point one of them could pop off and have a run. Thrilling stuff all around and I'm so proud of thab especially for his high level play

that keenz level is crazy, the concept and 3 checkpoints with the red coins is cool asf

That was an insane race. My favorite MM2 streamers in one team too... Thab, Caspur, Aura, and Panga... so many clutch moments!!!

This was such a great race and so entertaining! Huge thanks to all the level creators, players, organizers and crowd! This was a blast!

I've just watched the first two levels and I gotta say, after watching last year's challenge, this session is the most fun competitive gaming I've ever watched. These levels are simply amazing. And the players/teams are so well put together, the vibe so joyful and fun, and the commentary is perfect. I simply love this stuff. Now, if there's another Crypt of the NecroDancer level, I might literally pee my pants.

oh damn the panga clutch at 50:15 is insane!

This looked like fun but I’m not a fan of the screen watching that occurred. I always thought GDQ was a big LAN party where we saw cool stuff but the screen watching really killed it for me. Team Perchance should have tried harder rather than cheat via screen watching.

I don't care if someone wears a mask tbh, Japan does it all the time and I think it's fine. However, I do think it's pretty silly to force all of your competitors and the entire audience to wear them, especially when basically all the States are maskless at this point and covid has been declared no longer a global health emergency. :/ Not to mention every event has their own rules (eg San Diego Comic Con 2023) so it makes it confusing. I feel like forcing pronouns is pretty odd too. A vast majority of people use normal pronouns so it's pretty redundant. If someone really insists on different pronouns, wouldn't it be better to just ask them? I'm not sure what's gained by putting them up on screen like that. These gaming/pop culture events are so weird for those and more reasons. I don't want to focus on such a thing since it's fairly trivial and this seems like a great race but it really makes a weird atmosphere. I also think it's silly how no one is allowed to question these things or be deemed problematic. Hell you aren't even allowed to speak about them. This is a conversation with a lot of nuance but people would rather support their side like a football team and take moral high grounds than actually have an intelligent conversation. I think being chained to technology instead of spending time with people IRL has made this happen. I hate to bring this stuff up Thab, sorry man I love your content but the whole comment section is talking about this stuff and tbh I think it's important to talk about these things. I hate politics and hate talking about them but the gaming communities I used to love have become pretty toxic over the years because of stuff like this and it's getting to be a bit much.
