Frost is a Survival solo Card game. Inspired by deck-building board games like Dominion, Ascension and the like, it's an unique take on the genre as it puts you in charge of a group of people struggling against a restless, lethal storm.

On a world where a giant and lethal storm restlessly moves around the globe, people learned to survive in this cold, harsh and hostile environment. They are searching for the Refuge, a place where the Frost would never go.
Inspired by deckbuilding games like Dominion, Ascension and the like, Frost is solo survival card game that puts you in charge of a group of people looking for the Refuge. Resources, weapons, ideas, dangers and regions are represented by cards, use them wisely!

I dunno about a long term series, but I would be interested in seeing a few more episodes on this. Sometimes it's nice to step away from the latest, hottest thing and dust off some of the classics and see if they still hold up. Feel like this one does.

Also: yes, I do want more of this game. It looks very cool. Been watching on and off with my wife. Seems like the kind of game I’d want to play myself.

I wouldn't mind some more episodes. I don't think there's enough to make 20+ episodes on this game, but 10 or so with increasingly higher difficulty, I'm down for that!

There was a chance at winning at 35:28 say you used the person to attempt gathering resources at random and it got wood. You then fed the wood to get a campfire. Consumed the second wood that man scavenged for to get 3 cards. Then proceeded to get out of your mind levels of luck with another piece of wood, food, and a person.

it is inspired by Dominion which is a board game, but they just released a free digital version on Steam, so it could be worth a look!

I think the main lesson in this game is to use all the cards you havebefore you rest/end turn/Travel. Having a survivor card, when 2 are needed to travel and ending a trun just because you are on frost "8" is pretty stupid start to be honest. 48:53 Funny how that one wasted turn was a result of being so close to frost pretty much each turn

Ha! I got this game when it first came out, this dev also made CaravanSerail which is a pretty fun trading game. Cool that you are giving Frost some publicity, its a great little game! I gotta play it again some time!

If you're checking games you've missed these days, it would be great if you took a look at Erannorth Reborn (or Erannorth Chronicles, which is a newer, reworked version), which is a deckbuilder/rpg with a lot of race/class options, that you very much may enjoy =)

I wonder if he figured out the resource cost difference between a giving up and using. He kinda skipped that part of the tutorial. If he didn’t figure this out in the video (I’m only at 14 minutes in as I type this) then basically anything with a red slash through it means that you are permanently losing that card from your deck. Anything without a red slash means you are using the card but it remains in your deck. This is what it was trying to teach you with the campfire. In order to obtain the campfire, you must PERMANENTLY remove the resource card (1 wood) from your deck forever. To activate the special “draw three” effect, you are simply using a wood resource. The resource is still retained in your deck afterward. The only exception I’ve seen to this is using a survivor card to scavenge which can cause them to die, removing them permanently from your deck.

@@Retromation Okay good! You usually figure mechanics out very quickly in every new game you play, so I was hoping this would be the same. I’m not the “I CRINGE WHEN STREAMER FORGET TO…” type, I just don’t want any of my favorite entertainers to get frustrated or stuck with a mechanic that they might not understand fully. I recognize that I have the massive benefit as a viewer of simply observing. It’s SO much easier to learn mechanics when you’re watching somebody else play. I don’t have to use my brain to make any of the decisions you’re forced to make as the actual player of the game. So TL;DR- no cringe here. My goal is simply to see you win!

Game is really fun, but I think you're missing some pretty important fundamentals. The event cards are really there to help you cycle or flip resources and get resources you need to travel, having them clogging your deck really hurts being able to clear a region in one turn. Having people explore is also a pretty bad deal, again, its there more as a last resort to try to flip a resource in your hand for one you need. Just flipping a person to a food or wood is not ever good, unless its your last resort, since a person is always the more valuable resource. Also, try to be mindful of the resources you need to travel. Having two food in your deck, when the region requires two food, and then trading one of those foods for an event or trade, is a pretty bad deal, because you ALWAYS get useful cards when you travel. The more turns you travel, the more your stock will be, and then you can start thinking about using events to thin or contingency planning. Remember, traveling is like getting three cards, of all resources. It's really good. So the more you can travel, especially early, the easier it will be later. Every turn NOT traveling, is a big opportunity cost, so you need to justify whatever you are doing that turn to not be trying to travel ASAP.

Hey retro, Your recent naming scheme has kinda desensitized me to any ‘amazing game’. I find my self just not caring when I see you’re videos, even though I enjoy them. I’m m not really sure how you would fix that in a way that keeps your numbers up. Just how I feel, keep up the hard work!
